i have got 4 barrels from preferred the last barrel was cut wrong but they went above and behind to make things right for the barrel got gone on return shipping they started me a new barrel before it was even to get to them and they took over everything for the last barrel i will say the took care of me better than any other co. has ever and all barrels i have got from then shot bug hole groups i will again thank all the people that work for preferred barrels from the owner down

I have 4 PBB barrels and every one of them shoots lights out! My latest is a 24” 22 ARC stainless barrel and with factory ammunition it shot less than 1/2” 5 shot groups. I’ll work up a hand load that I am sure will net even better results.

No anti seize, just torque with clean threads?

I built my Howa similar to yours, trued up the front face, lapped the lugs for good seating, custom machined my own Shilen barrel blank for my particular action, 22" barrel length with a 1:10 twist, if i remember properly. One of the few rifles i will never sell

i ordered a barrel fro a kelbly action and was given updates on finish time that didnt match with when i finally got my barrel .. it made me have to cancel a trip. I will say tho , the barrel i recieved was very nice and its a shooter for sure . 300 norma magnum hitting the half moa gong at 1k no troubles

Last year I ordered a 308 barrel with a match chamber. I believe the gentleman's name if I'm not mistaken was Bryce. I changed my mind on the chambering several times throughout the point of ordering the barrel an actual finishing of the barrel, other companies would have tossed me in the garbage can. But they seem to understand that not everybody is a billionaire and can order 10 barrels or 15 barrels or would have you at a single time. I'm an average guy that lives on a fixed income that still wants a quality barrel. This company is top notch. With first rate equipment and apparently some very talented employees because when I received my barrel it was the best metal work I had ever laid eyes on and I am 62 years of age. I have no interest in bad mouthing other companies but I waited a year for a Krieger barrel that I felt was unfinished. When I received my preferred barrel after all the times I had changed my mind Bryce provided me with the best metalwork I'd ever laid my eyes on and at 308 barrel with the right loads and if I did my part is an all-day 1/2-in or better barrel. If someone was to ask me I would tell them preferred barrels is the way to go.

Have a 110 tactical, 308 would like to change to 243 Winchester or a204 but was wondering , can a 308 110 be changed to a 338 win mag.? May sound crazy but I would like to have a 338 but can a tactical be changed that radical?

As a precision build. Is there no need to bed the action? Hact trigger is 3lb to 4lb second pull. Far to heavy. A 1lb to 1.5lb spring kit would be preferred for bench or prs. Or 2lb to 2.5lb for hunting med to long range. $20 ebay. Cheers for the vid though.

Thank you, I have been trying to find good information on this. I’m new to custom guns, just got a custom .22 LR. It’s straight 1.2” DIA, 22” long. This helps me figure out what I want for my new hunting gun. I definitely don’t like sporter barrels, POI changes too much when the barrel warms up. Like to shoot a few right before hunting season comes in. Any suggestions on a good contour? Probably don’t need a .900” but would a .800 be good but not crazy heavy @24”?
