I was wondering if you can install a barrel in a savage without a barrel nut so you can put a heavier barrel on? I always run the same size barrels as my action. Like my .308 rem 700 I have a 1.35” for 7 straight taper to 1.25” at 28”. Same for my 300 rum just 34” long.
