Sir, I have been patient since 2 yrs, i have tried homeopathy, i have been good at that time, there was pus coming from my underarms continuously. After that I again switched to allopathy, and consulted with renowned dermatologist Dr. Sanjoy Ghosh from Kolkata (India). He has prescriped 40mg of aprelimast, in case of severity he advises me to take antibiotics (Claribid 250 twice).I do smoke moderately. Do you have any recommendations for me? Hi doctor Yesudian, Thanks for all the great info you're sharing,we are following them and you deserve a ❤. I have a problem that i want you to help me with from India, Andhra Pradesh. Female 32yrs,not married. HS suferrer since 2 years.(Diagnosed by a derm) Not too bad, may be mild case, but still they are paining and causing great inconvenience. Having flares on groin,perianal area,very few in armpits,now recently started getting in butt clevage. No PCOS, regular periods. (Earlier 5-6 years before,for severe acne used Isotretinoin and had excellent response despite side effects like drying face and broken lips.) Now again I'm getting acne again, which are not getting controlled by topicals like Clindamycin. Now used some antibiotics like Amoxicillin CV now and then and has been on Doxycycline 100 mg for about 3 months,flares are not getting infected but still flaring. Having Laser hair removal sessions. Just this last month observed that flares just happened 5 days before my periods with previous 20 days of no flares. Can we think they can be linked to hormonal component? Can Spironolactone be used? I asked my derm for any tablet that can be used regularly..she didn't prescribe any.. Then i headed towards an endocrinologist yesterday as they work with hormones,to ask spironolactone be prescribed for me. She said NO and she says its for PCOS and all,but she never heard it been used for HS. I'm left in cross roads junction now. Can i use spironolactone? At what dosage? Please help.. Thanks!

    I wan to undergo a 3-6 month cycle of topical minoxidil until I reach a hair density I am happy with, then take oral minoxidil to conserve the hair density. Do you think 0.5mg is a good dose for density preservation? I want low risk of cardiovascular adverse events, and I will discontinue if hypertrichosis is a problem. Last year I did 4 month cycle and had good results but discontinued it, and after 6 months I am beginning to see some thinning again, but still retain most of the gains from last year.

    • @DiscoverDermatology

      The plan seems very pragmatic. Usually the dose and duration of minoxidil needs to be tinkered by the patient as each person will respond differently to the medication.

      In the Uk we do not routinely use lasers for acne. Acne is an inflammatory condition and therefore the use of medications may be the best option. For scars, lasers may be helpful.

    Sir I have a small doubt I'm already taking 5mg oral minoxidil along with 1mg finasteride according to my doctor's recommendation Can I use a multivitamin tablet along with them for overall wellness and better hair? Will that help in anyway?

      Vitamins are helpful for hair conditions, particularly vitamin D. Iron is also beneficial for hair thinning if we are anaemic. here are a couple of videos on them. ua-cam.com/users/shortsMH7K6ELClkw ua-cam.com/users/shortsOG8GybUsZhU ua-cam.com/video/I0Qg7IjpFFQ/v-deo.html

    How about tea not coffee?

    • @DiscoverDermatology
      @DiscoverDermatology 14 днів тому

      Tea may also inhibit absorption of iron, so better avoided if possible.
