      @@shxfie8680 You are right, scalp dysaesthesia is a commonly encountered problem that can be difficult to treat. Trying one of the options suggested in the video may be helpful.

    Can trigeminal trophic syndrome be caused by an upper tooth extraction and tooth bone graft? I got diagnosed with it based on my symptoms. Been having complications for almost a year! Thank you Professor 🙏🏼

    • @DiscoverDermatology
      @DiscoverDermatology  Рік тому +1

      If a branch of the trigeminal nerve was involved in the extraction, then a localised version of trigeminal trophic syndrome could occur from it.

    • @traceyj.dibenedetto186

      Is it permanent? Thank you for your response 🙏🏼

    • @DiscoverDermatology
      @DiscoverDermatology  Рік тому

      Most neuropathies can be treated by using the medications mentioned in the video. So they do not have to be permanent, they can be controlled quite well symptomatically. @@traceyj.dibenedetto186

    Hello doctor , you've talked about the oral minoxidil for non minoxidil responders , now minoxidil sulfate by itself is sold to solve this issue ? Your thoughts?

    • @DiscoverDermatology
      @DiscoverDermatology  Рік тому +1

      Yes, that could be a good option. However, even that will be degraded by the liver after the first pass through the liver.

    Doctor of sublingual minoxidil gave better results and lower side effects than oral minoxidil , why can finasteride be administered sublingually to lower systemic side effects and it can act directly on scalp dht?

    • @DiscoverDermatology
      @DiscoverDermatology  Рік тому +1

      Thats a good question. There is not much information in the literature about sublingual finasteride. Maybe there is no significant beneficial effect in sublingual finasteride and therefore that have not done much work on it.

      It is very difficult to make a diagnosis without a full examination. It may be best to see a general physician who may then refer to dermatology if required.
