Hopefully you replace the stock orange dovetail with something beefier like a Losmandy D type or from ADM Accessories

how heavy is that, sir, in your opinion?

I bought the LX85 system in Dec 2022 and the tripod and base unit are different now. I prefer your tripod design better than the newer one. Mine also came with 2 shattered azimuth screws. Did yours have a spring come with the tripod base? Mine does but I can't find anything that says where it's used. ALSO, the hole in the counterweight was too small for the post and it only tightly goes in halfway and that's it. No burrs or hang-ups in the hole in the weight. Waiting for Meade to get back to me.

Nice tutorial. I wish they could incorporate an android/ios app so there's no laptop/computer needed like the commander software.

Enough to drool over! As a matter of interest, how much radio frequency interference (RFI) do you experience on your ham radios? I would expect that all that LED technology all over the show raises the noise floor to >S9?

Don't panic. The iPolars work well. I've set several of these up and it isn't that hard. Follow the directions, have up to date drivers and it goes well.
