I have a LX85 with a 6” Makustov. It was a gift. My focuser sucks, as it slides in and out a bit. I was able to see the moon after playing around with it. I am reluctant to ship back the OTA. I might not see it for many months. I will call customer service.
I bought the LX85 system in Dec 2022 and the tripod and base unit are different now. I prefer your tripod design better than the newer one. Mine also came with 2 shattered azimuth screws. Did yours have a spring come with the tripod base? Mine does but I can't find anything that says where it's used. ALSO, the hole in the counterweight was too small for the post and it only tightly goes in halfway and that's it. No burrs or hang-ups in the hole in the weight. Waiting for Meade to get back to me.
Also, this mount comes with only one weight, if your payload is 15lbs you will need to purchase a second weight. If you are going to max it... you will need a total of three weights.
HI, I know the video has more than one year, but if the problem of the DEC lock continues, remove the little metal disc inside AR lock and change it to the DEC lock, and problem resolved.

Did you every get the LX85 going and what is your opinion after use..
Does yours have any play in the RA with clutch engaged? My LX85 has about 3mm of movement, DEC side is rock solid
