Hi, I am presently researching on a guide scope and a guiding camera that I can use on my 6" SCT (f/10, 1500mm focal length). Would 30mm guide scope be enough to track a deep sky object? How are the specifications on the guide scope for instance 30mm/120mm (aperture/focal length) in anyway impact the OTA specs when auto guiding? Is there a relationship between the two when using auto guiding feature that I need to take into account?

Are you concerned about the short f/l of the guide scope on an 11" ota?

The guide scope works great. We shoot with a hyperstar at F/2 on the 11. We have been using it for months and it's worked perfectly. Getting under 1.0" error on mount using PHD2.
