BEST Series ever! Best episode EVER! Literally every musical episode that followed in subsequent TV series either borrowed from this one or epically failed. Read anything from the great Star Trek Strange New Worlds musical episode. Everyone credits this Buffy episode for their success. One example of many. I am so pissed of that Joss Whedon couldn't hold off being a dick long enough to let his empire flourish. He can live off his enormous profits and we can enjoy endless re-runs but we all know a reboot would've been inevitable if it wasn't for his poor behavior. The slayers of the world are needed now more then ever before in history in my opinion. Because God knows shooters can't do shit!! (I mean Whiskey Shooters of course!)

It's breaking because this woman handled the forces of hell and is strong anyone could be... But she turns back into Joyce's little girl. She can slay monsters but here she can't even think of her own address. She is unsure, scared and so incredibly vulnerable in this scene.

As a SA/intent of rape surviver I really do not understand why are you all so triggered and fussing about! Am shocked that James M. was so deeply affected by shooting this scene. He is an actor and as such he should be able to play a role without actually feeling this role’s feeling! In all honesty I am looking at this and do not relate at all with this scene in spite of my experience. What happen to me was an exception from the normal life. More than that, it is in the past and cannot hurt me anymore. It was just a difficult situation which I managed to survive and put behind me. If I were to ever meet James Marsters in person as a SA/intent of rape surviver, there is really only one question I would like to ask him 😊

By that point Buffy is so spectacularly self righteous that even though she's pretty much generally right, she's also unsufferable about it. When the operator asks Buffy if she knows CPR and she says she doesn’t remember. Shock is crazy when it robs you of memories! When my mom told me on the phone that my dad had leukemia, she asked me if I knew what that was. I automatically said yes, because I had heard of it before, but my brain couldn’t catch up. It’s like it was looking at a mental file that said “leukemia” on the front, but I couldn’t open its contents so I could understand how bad it was.

I've gone through this twice... It's real, it's wrenching... This scene alone I'd recommend the show for.

This hit home for me so much I’ve never seen buffy before and it brought back so much for me I went to my mums house a year ago and found her deceased it was one of the worst days of my life and when my sister come I was defensive about her seeing our mum like that and was the worst call and have to tell her that our mum was dead too was insane I was still in shock like 3 months later it really brought back so much and for the acting in this was brilliant and so emotional

This scene hits a lot harder these days as I try to navigate my little brother's alcoholism. The crying, the repeated "I'm sorry"s, the "I can't stop. I've tried and I can't." Nearly verbatim what I hear every time he relapses. And Buffy's frustration and look of what can be described as numbness to the situation, yet she still chooses to embrace her friend; too real.
