@@antoniolamounierYea, but before her addiction to magic, she was mostly pure of heart. Her violating Tara’s mind was just the start of that. This was the straw that broke the pure camels heart.

I always wondered how Willow became so poweful. By doing it, she sucked the knowledge of spells, rituals, but how that makes her power rise? In Buffy it was never explained, it looks like magic is something you can learn without any natural gift.
She started off in season 2 with the restoration spell on angels soul .. that sort of opened the gateway to her tapping into mystical energies . As she learned and became more experienced she was able to perform spells independently or with the aid of others . In season 4 she was able to help infuse Buffy with the collective strength of her and her 3 friends invoking the power of the first slayer .. that allowed to defeat Adam . When glory mind sucked Tara . Willow reached for the book darkest magic which had a lot of dark spells in and spells for revenge . Even though she didn’t last long against her she managed to cause glory some pain (even Buffy couldn’t do that) . She was also able to restore Tara’s sanity by taking it back from glory which again showcased her power . As well as creating force fields and using telekinesis to push glory back . Start of series six she was able to bring Buffy back to life which showed an increase in power and skill. But this episode is exactly a year from when Tara was mind sucked by glory . Only by now willow is much more powerful and skilled simply able to fling the books down with a mere gesture and absorbed the knowledge . She also had an inherent mystical talent for witchcraft she just didn’t discover it until later on .. as well as all witches use mystical energy whether it be in themselves , spells objects or other magic users to fuel their powers, hope this helps
Willow has always been powerful, shown to use spells well beyond a witch of her stature. The books themselves are not just words either, they are magical tomes that contain power. Willow is a siphon, and drained the power from the dark arts books. Add that to her grief and rage, and her own inate power, Dark Willow was OP!
My theory: going cold turkey was a very bad thing. The power inside stored up. The grief and vengence took over and unleshed this power. Giles was right in season seven - instead of stopping altogether, Willow should have learnt control.
@gentleheart7107 Keep in mind that up until Season 6, Willow couldn’t de-rat Amy. In the episode where she actually does, she cast a spell to reveal the spell she required. This particular case is similar in that she’s using a spell to increase her ability to cast spells, so it’s not entirely inconceivable that she used a spell to get power.
I remember seeing this on TV when it aired and was like “OH SH!T”
Dark Willow is amazing
Willow's wants vengeance

Anya is so caring for willow 😢❤
I’m starting love Anya
"This is your brain. This is your brain on books. Any questions?"
I've always wondered why did Willow ask "Where do you keep the black arts books?" She has always known exactly where they were.
Probably because since Anya took over the store she could have moved them somewhere else

A warning to Anya not to try and stop her. By announcing her intentions, she forced Anya to back off.
Because there are some lines catered for the audience.

That's what happens when the purest ones turn evil. I'd have gone the same path as Willow if I would have been in her position

YES!!!
Purest ones? She raped her girlfriend's mind earlier in the season.

Willow is not pure or an innocent, she’s human. I hate when ppl characterize her like she’s one-dimensional.
Lol Anya's like, "Oh god...And I thought I was scary. 😮
I love Buffy, Willow, Tara, Angel, Xander, Cordellia
U have to admit it was a lot more fun with one of buffs friends was evil and we knew the character so it was a lot more exiting

Just goes to show whilst the good of us can turn rouge when we are pushed too far
Dark willow is the best 🖤
This is the hill in which i stand, she wouldve made a great Jewn Grey or Scarlet Witch imho.
Why is the audio not synched?
The "Imperial March" should be playing during this scene !!!!
Creepy!
Willow had no choice
She did. She chose to let her grief and rage consume her.

As much as I like the show ‘Angel’ Dark willow should have been a spin off!!!

Well.... after what recently happened, perhaps not Wanda. Anya should knew, she was also in Westview.
...Sponge bob?
How about Barney, Marshall, Robin, and Ted?
