Cleaning up the last of the Tomatoes in the Garden
Everything is looking so great! Those are some lush tomato plants 🌱
I was a little shocked at how crazy they went while I was gone.
So cool! ❤❤❤❤ I’ve always wanted to grow my own garden ❤❤❤❤😊
Plant Partners is hand down the best companion planting book.
That’s one of the nicest looking home gardens I’ve seen
Thank you so much
На кладбище похоже
Isn't it crazy how many people online passionately argue that rolly pollies don't harm seedlings? LOL They're my #1 pest tbh
Right?!?! That has always surprised me. I have seen it so often in my garden.
Roly polies went ham on my squash and cucumbers, too. I don’t know why they singled out those seedlings specifically, but it has been a whole battle.
All I can think of is that it must have something to do with the water content of the plant, but that is just a guess
Everything is looking lovely! The weather should really come with a disclaimer. “Notice: Today, you will melt!”
Thanks 😊
Where can I buy this book from
rareseeds.com
Dogs always have a way of training their humans 😂
Never have there been truer words. 🫣
Everything is looking so lovely! It’s always amazing to see how much things change in just a week.
Beautiful awesome amazing wonderful creative God's child
Your gardens look wonderful -- thanks for the video.
I just seen the title of this video & thought I will watch this. It starts out hi I'm APRIL (and i thought neat, I'm APRIL too) then you said you garden in southeast NEBRASKA & i was blown away :D because I am in NEBRASKA too (central). However I am much older for i am guessing you are more my children's age. So i will enjoy your video, i am sure. I love gardening!
I love that and welcome!
I've seen the crazy hail stones on a few us UA-cam channels
The weather this year has been nuts.
Here in my Kansas garden the rolly polly population has exploded. They're eating seedlings and small plants in my garden that they have never disturbed before.
I’ve been having some issues with them as well. Anything near the soil level seems to be fair game with them. I keep trying to go after them with hose and DE.
Just subscribed! Love your garden! I need one of those 'grow dammit' signs 😂
Thank you and my husband got it for me a couple years ago from a shop on etsy. I think it is perfect. 😂
@@thegardnersgarden it is absolutely perfect!
Everything is looking SO good! Those concrete raised beds are sleek!
I do really like them so far but the klutz that I am I've already managed to scrap myself on them. I may have fallen into a corner. eeep.
@@thegardnersgarden I feel that. Pretty sure I have bruised myself on every surface in my garden 🤣
Great video😊💚🌻🐝.
I am so excited to see that Star Wars garden grow!
Me too!
Adding perlite to the hole was a great idea! Didn't think about that at all. Loved this! And your tattoo is cool too!
Thank you and I actually added in is some espoma biotone. It looks a lot like perlite.
Hi Dear, I saw your UA-cam channel video and understood that Very nice video. You have 754 subscribers but videos are not more watched and subscribers because your video is not SEO. I have analyzed and realized that your UA-cam channel is not progressing and improving. It is responsible for: 1. Channel videos are not properly SEO 2. Videos are not reaching the people 2. There is no rank tag in the Video 3. Video SEO score is 41 out of 100 but SEO score should be 90+ to rank video 5. Channels tags not good quality 6. No video tag and other technical problems Do you want all the problems solved? I can help you.
We are in far Northeast Iowa so thankfully missed out on the storms last week but sounds like the risk is closer for today. What a wild spring we are having already 😬
Yeah. We have been watching the radars like crazy. Fingers crossed they are just standard storms. 🤍
So glad you and your family are all ok❤
Thank you so much! 🤍
So thankful that everything is fine. Gardening helps with stress and life pressures. Happy gardening 🥰🙏🏿💚🌻🐝
Thank you. 🤍
We had a tornado come through the area about 4 years ago. It hit about 10 pm. My house saw no damage, three streets over they had some roofs damaged. My parents house saw no damage but a couple houses in their neighborhood were left uninhabitable. And one of my coworkers came out completely undamaged and the house next door lost most of its roof. It’s scary and you’re probably not going to trust storms for a while. After I made myself walk outside when it was windy and/or storming and practice being calm. Took me nearly three years to get to the point I wasn’t scared of storms or the sound of heavy wind.
This is us right now. Every time we hear the wind pick up or even a little bit of thunder was going into hyper-prepared mode. The first thing we do is check all the weather apps. It is the sudden adrenaline and heart racing that gets me every time. 😔
I am so thankful everything is fine. Gardening is a great way to destress. Thanks for sharing. Happy gardening
Thank you 🤍
1) I’m glad you’re okay! 2) I like your shirt 3) the garden will absolutely help you process and heal. 4) cars are replaceable!
Thank you, thank you, yes and yes! 🤍
What are your beds made of?
They are modular concrete panels.
Great video 😊
Man. I really want to grow potatoes but I need a space for them 😂. Your new raised beds look great!
Thank you. I'm hoping to have them filled out soon but what I've set up so far, I'm enjoying. We will see how long it takes me to break and start pulling up the sod around them.
you can totally do them in one of those cheap pop up laundry hampers from dollar tree. I think you need an indeterminant variety though. which ever one you keep piling dirt onto.
@@chelseaschilling7490 thank you!
Off to look up what a honey berry is…
It is also known as a blue honeysuckle. They are like a blueberry but less temperamental about soil acidity levels.
Im growing from seed>>> Ace55 Black Prince Champion2 Early Girl Moskovitch Mountain Pride Mountain Fresh Plus SF Fog 4th of July Sun Gold It has been my experience that 10 plants per person is just about right. !
Oo that is good to know. I’m always going a bit crazy with my plants but the 10 to 1 makes a lot of sense.
Writing on the wrong side of the tape is totally something I would do/ have done/ will do again. 😂
Yeah, no idea where my brain was at but oh well. 🤣
Where do you buy these?
The light pinks are from bootstrap farmer. The dark pink are from greenhouse megastore.
@@thegardnersgarden thank you!
Why did you scatter them like that?
The idea I had was to optimize how the sun flows through the yard while at the same time still using the space for entertainment.
Woohoo! Those look great!
Those look great! Can’t wait to see the finished product!
I’m as excited for your garden as I am mine 🤣🤣. You are under a serious time crunch there! I hope your materials come in and progress gets made on those beds!
I’m crossing both my fingers and my toes.
Good video. My only concern is the large amount of plastic, I get that these are more robust items and so should last a while, but something still unsettles me about so much plastic.
I can see that concern and limiting plastic use is a goal I have in a large part of my life. I also recognize that other methods are not always realistic for me at the moment so I've tried to make the best decision I can by going with something I will be using for years and years and years.
Love the story about your grandpa ❤ I am now intrigued by the Fred series 🤔 I’m excited to see and taste the Star Wars tomatoes this year 🙌 I too am a sucker for fuzzy tomatoes 🤩 Variegated ones too! Love the gandolf tomato with all the words 🤣
I think you just summed up everything that goes on in my head around tomatoes. 😂
@@thegardnersgarden 😂
That’s so nice to plant Fred for your grandfather. I grow jimmy nardello and big Jim peppers for my dad and brother. ❤
I love that and it is good to hear I’m not the only one who is pulled in by the names.
Oh wow. I should get the dwarf Metallica for my husband too. I did get two of Star Wars for him lol.
Heck yes!
I love all the pink 💕🌸
I think I need to get Dwarf Metallica for my son, and I still have Midnight Roma on my wishlist. I need the Rebel Starfighter VT-16 too.
Do it!!!!! 😉
Looks great. Quite an investment. Just finished my 3rd raised bed today. This is the earliest Ive ever tried to begin. Good luck with yours this season.
Thank you!
What is the reasoning for that choices on beds
I was thinking something with a more modern look and something that had a long life so I did not have to do much maintenance on the actual beds
