We are in far Northeast Iowa so thankfully missed out on the storms last week but sounds like the risk is closer for today. What a wild spring we are having already 😬

Yeah. We have been watching the radars like crazy. Fingers crossed they are just standard storms. 🤍

We had a tornado come through the area about 4 years ago. It hit about 10 pm. My house saw no damage, three streets over they had some roofs damaged. My parents house saw no damage but a couple houses in their neighborhood were left uninhabitable. And one of my coworkers came out completely undamaged and the house next door lost most of its roof. It’s scary and you’re probably not going to trust storms for a while.
After I made myself walk outside when it was windy and/or storming and practice being calm. Took me nearly three years to get to the point I wasn’t scared of storms or the sound of heavy wind.

This is us right now. Every time we hear the wind pick up or even a little bit of thunder was going into hyper-prepared mode. The first thing we do is check all the weather apps. It is the sudden adrenaline and heart racing that gets me every time. 😔
