Hello Gardener friend! I loved this video for so many reasons. I am so inspired and have been itching to organize my new seeds. I have made it this weeks gardening goal. I have my eggplants in their own category. There are so many varieties, they deserve their own home. I also use photo boxes at the moment, and have the seeds organized alphabetically. Which program are you using for your inventory and garden journal? Another one of my goals for this year is to become better organized. I love the way your brain works and the way you've organized your garden journal is incredible. Total Goals! I'd love a tutorial on that. Great job. Thank you for sharing!
I'm just using Numbers on my Mac. Excel and Google Sheets will do the same thing. I have been editing an modifying the functions of my spreadsheets for the last four years. It has been an evolving process. I wouldn’t put eggplant with squash. It should be a standalone category. I had to switch to a binder with photo sleeves last year because I had too many seeds 😂
Yeah... I was starting to think maybe I need to shuffle into the "Other" category since I only have one variety right now and don't know if I'm going to go hard on the eggplants. 😅
I have my eggplant with my tomatoes. My rationale is they're a nightshade, they grow like peppers, and my tomato section has room. I do like how you consider it culinarily like a squash and categorize it that way, though! I have a ton of peppers and my categories are frying peppers, seasoning peppers (like arroz con pollo, habanada, and my paprika varieties), bell peppers, hot peppers, and latin american peppers (maybe these should be part of my hots but I don't consider my cubanelles to be hot peppers; it's mostly peppers I'd put in chili, but I have some peppers in other sections that I also occasionally put in chili)
I love how you have your peppers divided out. I feel like you have to run with the way your brain works if you want to stick to any organization system. Also that is so many peppers. I LOVE IT!
@@thegardnersgarden definitely have to work with your mind and run with it! And haha 😅 yeah, I grow peppers like most people grow tomatoes. I just find peppers so fun and have so many great ways to use them
