It wasnt Chaos. It was Order, crafted by the laws of the universe, the choices of your artistic spirit, and the controlled movements of your hands. This is Order, in all of it's beauty: sometimes too vast to comprehend, so we write it off as chaos.
Methylated spirits seems to work fine. And rice if you need some extra abrasive power.
Ooooooh that’s sharp af
I think that the sound of the flame would be better than music. ASMR.
Cool
Thanks!
I have that same exact dewalt reversable c clamp
Hi Adrian! Yeah they are really helpful. Can never have enough clamps lol. All the best! Sim
I am new and need guidance.
Is there a video for making glass rod into tubing?
Hi Richard and welcome! I don't have a video on this yet. It's called coilpotting and it's a technique used in pottery. Hope you have an awesome day! Sim
I need this lol
you can blow a glass pipe with the yellow one, the green one and the blue one.
Hi Cecelia! Thanks for the info. I would love for you to show a demo on how to best use these types of torches. All the best! Sim
"very dirty pipe"
Lol. I asked my audience if anyone had some nasty glass they wanted me to clean on-camera but no one volunteered. All the best! Sim
YO SIM ITS ME AKIVA I LOVE YOU
Yo Sim Its Me Akiva your only son
Is this guy still alive
Yes I'm still alive. Thanks for caring about my wellbeing! Sim
Another useful one is to use effervescent denture cleaning tablets. Just fill up your pipe with warm water, use a wad of paper to block the pipes so it holds water, and drop a couple of false-teeth cleaner tablets in. They are designed to get tobacco, coffee and wine stains off pensioners teeth, they shift a bit of old rosin like nobodies business. Then just a quick rinse with water, a final finish with clean iso and you're factory fresh again, even the most complicated turp-slurper or diffuser. Cheap and non-polluting to dispose of too.
Hey David! Thanks for the tip. I'm going to pick some up today and give this a try. All the best! Sim
@FusingShop no worries. I have a real hate for dirty glassware. You don't see wine experts sipping expensive Bordeaux from old pickle jars that they polished on their t shirt but people still toke from pipes that look like old diesel engine sumps.
Glass is pretty cheap. I toss the dirty one and get a new one. Screw all of this tomfoolery...
That is a legit way to do it my friend. All the best! Sim
I've blown a ton of glass with torches for ugh stuff...
Lol sounds good!
Thanks for the post. I'm about to put a vent for my shop and probably going this route. Easy and simple to put through the outside of a wall. May I ask what lavaliere mic you use?
Hi! I use a wireless system. It's the Sennheiser EW100 G3. All the best@! Sim
How long do you let it soak
'til the muck has shifted. Doesn't take long, ten minutes or so.
Yeah 15 minutes should do it.
Please do a video on how you use your kiln during your work day
Hi Mike! I'm currently not making videos at this time. YT was a ton of effort for very little payoff. I can try to help you with you glass journey. Let me know what specific questions you have. All the best! Sim
When elbows up is that where melting off center happens more than on the roller
Does using the roller simplify keeping it centered?
Yes the roller definitely helps. There is no substitute for learning to spin with your hands. It's a skill that you're going to need so keep working on those hand turning skills. All the best! Sim
Would you be able to make a tutorial for a shooter style shot glass for people without a lathe? Loved this video
Hi LB! Can you send me a photo of the type of glass? Might be fun to make. Sim
You don't know where to put the glass into the flame, I have (actually blown) thousands of pipes, with the bernzomatic ts8000, you didnt blown anything. You have no idea where the hottest part of that torch is. Yeah you can put the glass right up to the torch tip with an oxypropane, but not with that. And the angle of the glass to the flame is crucial, I can get the hole to the size if a pinhead of 12 mm glass withing 30 seconds, when it's in the correct spot, the swirl at a specific spot the flame quickly begins to closes it, but I like to use colored rods to fill the tiny hole to close it off and then blow a bubble. I sometimes take the colored rods and do swirls around the tube, before I blow it up, cause it looks cool with the colors blowing up with the tube all stretched😊
You should make a video on how to use a torch like this
That would be awesome! I'd love to learn how to maximize the use of this torch.
Hi Sim! Been a while!lol have a great day!❤😊
Hey!!!! Awesome to see that you got a channel started Mike! I'm putting YT on hold for awhile. Unfortunately it's high time, low profit so I had to give it up as an income stream. How are you finding the production and editing process? All the best! Sim
if you dont have a kiln?
Work with smaller size tubing that can be bench cooled. Always best to get a kiln but you can do some glass work without. All the best! Sim
What type of torch are you using ?
Hi Richard! I'm using a GTT Mirage. All the best! Sim
Naomi is such a great teacher. Thanks guys. I'm going to make some earrings like those.
Thanks for your kind comment Kristi <3. Hope you have an awesome day! Sim
of course its enough a dam propane gas torch works just as good the green cans and its cheaper and it still works with thicker glass.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Tyler. All the best! Sim
what causes a round hole to develop after only a few uses? I'm going on pipe number 3 now. They are the cheap mass produced oil diffuser type. The seller offers only 10% off the next purchase. I used the first one 1 time only. The second one, after the first use a round hole again.
Hey Jay! I'm not sure what you mean. A hole should not develop in the glass. I have pipes that are years old that are the same as when I made them. All the best! Sim
How can I contact you personally id love to talk learn.
yourock@thefusingshop.com
DRINK EVERCLEAR, USE ISOPROPYL!
I only had the torch, then i remembered i have a cigar glass tube. I dont think itll work, but im dam sure gonna try, lol Edit: so I was able to mold the bowl and push in the end. Was going for a steamroller. Unfortunately I only have a mechanics small pick set. Not sure if that's the reason I wasn't able to actually punch a hole through. It just keep pushing a bigger deeper hole. (I know a smaller flamer/torch would probably be the best way to fix that.) Does the pick have to be tungsten? And yes it did eventually crack and chip off. (I think I put too much pressure without letting it get warm enough to be maluable)
That's so cool! If you want to "drill" through the glass, the pick needs to be tungsten. If you're pushing glass, you can use a different metal such as steel. All the best! Sim
It blows into confetti more less lll
Hehehehe.
Who the hell has that funky stand to hold his map gas anyway😂! The entire first part I'm thinking shit what am I gonna do to get a stand .I then realized I am now stepping backwards w two issues I didn't even know I had damn it.I JUST WANT TO GET HIGH ,BUT MY PITBULL KNOCKED MY TABLE ALL HARD AND MY BUBB SHATTERED SHATTERED.NOW I see why drugs are illegal😮😮
I'm sorry to hear about your loss on the bubbler. The worst thing about glass is that that sh*t breaks into a million pieces when it gets dropped. I actually found a way better holder for the MAP can. An L-bracket and a pipe clamp. Clamp that bad boy to your table and you're good to go. All the best! Sim
How is that tube NOT cracking and falling apart!? I tried softening a bourbon bottle about an hour ago and the damn thing shattered into a hundred pieces. Are egg rolls the answer!? Its egg rolls isnt it.
Hahahaha I love this comment! Liquor bottles are made from a much softer glass than what I use. Any type of pipe/laboratory glassware needs to be made from borosilicate which is a pyrex equivalent. All the best! Sim
@@FusingShop Ok, so you answered 2 of my questions, but I'll keep both comments here for ezzz'z of egg roll logistics. So it's been like 2 weeks and I learned a lot about different glass and have since bought boro glass tubes to practice. Also, I did purchase some bad-ass torch head for like $16 and let me tell you! Night & Day my friend🤙 So far I'm bending some glass, gettin wine carboys in line and building a brewing area in my basement. Wish I had a UA-cam channel to share with everyone, but sometimes, ya just gotta Egg... 1 Roll at a time🤪
@@caburtnett1980 This sounds kick-ass my friend. Would love to see what your brewing area looks like when it's done. Eh having a YT channel is nothing special. It's a ton of work and then you have people criticize you for little reward lol. All the best! Sim
All i have to do is bend a straight lab glasswear pipe into a "U" shape to complete my apparatus and test my wine. I too have this MAP set-up from sweating copper. Do you think i got this? Im feelin pretty confident! Whatdaya think?
Hi Caburtnett! Depends on how thick that glass is. The MAP torch has some big limitations but it was fun to try out. Maybe a Hothead Torch would do the trick for you. All the best! Sim
Kiln help, and blow tube and how to use each tool to it best results
Id really love to talk with you about glass how could I connect with you?
Let's be in touch via email, yourock@thefusingshop.com. Sim
Glass 1 hitter with a bowl attached
How do I get one from you
Hi David! Hit me up via email, yourock@thefusingshop.com
Should probably test it with the torches running for a more accurate picture of what is going on.
That is actually a genius idea!!! I will do that and see how it goes. Thanks for the tip! Sim
i mean cool.. but why wouldn't you show the finished piece at the end?
Yeah this was one of my earlier videos and I didn't show the finished marble =(. I'm thinking of remaking this one. All the best! Sim
@@FusingShop yeah I wasn't trying to be a butthole. it really was cool. I wanted to see the finished product!
@@RealGusOnDemand Lol I didn't detect butthole vibes. You can find the finished marble on my website www.thefusingshop.com. It's on the slideshow on the homepage.
Ok so my question is from the time you start your kiln for your days work can you make a video on what you do and how you use your kiln start to finish it's how long is each piece need to soak it's the basics I need.
Good video. Expert tip …alcohol is way cheaper
Thanks Jerry! Yes alcohol is way cheaper but I find it doesn't work as well as Everclear. Give it a shot and you'll see the difference. All the best! Sim
Please read your torch instructions you can change the o2 inlet to more. It’s at the base you I believe have it choked back.
There are no valves there my friend. I heard that you can get different tips for this torch to change the flame but I don't have them. Hope you have an awesome day! Sim
What is the machine called that you are using to make and stretch the rods?
Hi!! That is a glass blowing Lathe. I have two in the shop. The one in the video is a Seams Lathe. All the best! Sim
@@FusingShop Thank you
love your stuff. I want to know if you can help me. Im very new and need some advice on where to get tanks and general stuff like that.
Hey skeetle. What kind of tanks are you trying to find? Propane tanks can be bought at Home Depot and I get them filled by my local propane supplier. For Oxygen tanks, you need to find a company that rents or sells the tanks. I use K-tanks in the shop. Do a Google search for local oxygen supplier and see what you find. All the best! Sim
Great tutorial! What size tubing did you end up using in terms of thickness?
Hi LB! The thickness is 2 mm. This makes a very robust test tube. All the best! Sim
Hey ,can't read Comment replys, so Coe please? The one person asked about hot head and 104. I have oxygen n propane torch with 104, 96, float , so no 33 yet. Love it, very very pretty.
Thanks Debra. COE of boro is 33. All the best! Sim
Is this from a light bulb of some sort?
Hi! It's from a project that was blown too thin and the glass shatters easily. Cool to see but very dangerous to have around. All the best! Sim
