Scrap Card with Napkin Flowers

This is one of those cards, where you find some scraps and don't know what to do with them. That's where Sara Renae Clark's Color Cubes can really come in handy. I went through the studio and collected things to add to the card based solely on color. And surprisingly enough - it works!! One of the items was a plaid paper napkin. I used it to make flower layers - easy and quick! The end result i...

❤ I love how creative you are! That card came out beautiful 😻
Thanks Andrea - Glad you enjoyed this one!
I love your room
Thanks Mary - I really miss that beautiful studio! We are in limbo in ths move at the moment and I am struggling to warm up to my interim room.
@@SeniorSusieStamps Julia, how long have you been stamping and where do you live. I am in Massachusetts and just started doing paper crafts at 77 yrs young
@@marymckenzie3559 Hi Mary - I started stamping probably 14 years ago after work with some friends and a Stampin Up demonstrator. It wasn't until I retired 10 years ago that I really started my hobby in earnest. I hope you are enjoying it as much as I do!
@@SeniorSusieStamps I am thanks to watching all of your videos. You have made this journey so much more fun. Thank you, Julia
After each one was shown, I would say "oh. that one's the best!!" I came to the conclusion that they're all the best! Loved watching your challenge. Hope to see another one soon. Just beautiful!!!
So glad you enjoyed these Robin!
Thai is right Julie for Raymond told me. Also children aren't to be called kids. Kids are baby goats. Also a female elk is called a cow 😮😅😮
Thank you, we got to see a really young fox in our backyard this morning 🌄 🙌 😀
Aren't they just the cutest? I think young foxes are called kits. Go figure that one. Glad you had that experience!
Great artistic work on all the tags everyone, love seeing the video, so sorry for the ones whose tags are lost out in postal limbo. Hope all will get better with the postal department soon.
Thanks Helen - This was a fun crafty challenge!!
❤
Thanks Caroline!
❤❤❤
Such a great way to use up some scraps!!
Love your ideas Julia... its fun to add a little pizzazz without affecting your budget.
Thanks Betty! We have so many edge options, sometimes it's hard to remember them all!
Love this card thanks Julia for sharing.
Oh Carmelina - You are so welcome. A very easy card to make with minimal supplies!
Absolutely LOVE this idea. Off to be Busy😀 Thank you for sharing 💕🏴
Good for you!! And you're welcome!
BEAUTIFUL tags!!! LOVE the double tags!!! TFS!!!
Weren't these just so much fun??!!
These tags are fabulous! Looking forward to your next challenge 😊
Me too!!!
Oh how nice they all turned out! So many different interpretations of one thing. I loved doing this and hope to do another challenge with you.
I completely agree!!
Hi Julia, these videos are wonderful, and really enjoy seeing the work of other incredibly talented and like minded ladies out there. 🩷 All the tags shown are beautiful and thank you Julia for sharing them with us in YT land. It is a lovely idea that the participants receive in the post, a tag from a fellow clever crafter. I am certainly looking forward to seeing what you all do next. In the meantime, "happy crafting". God's blessings, love and hugs. 🥰🌷❤
Thanks Gloria! I enjoy receiving and then sending them on after the video. It's just a lot of fun. Hugs back atcha!!
Thank you for the great challenge Julia. I had never made tags before, I will be making more in the future. I used a light brown card stock using a sponge I added the same colour onto then added die cuts to them and cord . The tags were cut with a die from simply stamp magazine. 🐞🇦🇺
Thanks Nina - You can use tags for all kinds of things. And they are a great way to use up some scraps and ephemera!
Absolutely beautiful tags. Congratulations to every talented crafty artist. X
Thanks Sheila and I completely agree!!
All of those were beautiful!! I am so disappointed that mine is lost somewhere between here and there. Atlanta really needs to get their act together, it's so frustrating. I know it will eventually show up there because I believe I put your address as the to address and ALSO the return address. So, there is no place else for it to go to but to you! If you eventually receive it, don't worry about sending me one in return. You can either keep mine or send it out if you need an extra to send to someone. Looking forward to seeing what the next challenge is!
I feel your pain. I live in Stockbridge GA, and we have had several things that were mailed to us that we never received. My husband got a birthday card in June that was mailed to him in February from across Stockbridge from us, same zip code. His birthday was in March, so his sister mailed it early. It is so sad that our USPS is having so many issues. We are afraid to put anything in the mail. So sorry yours didn't get there, I am sure you did something beautiful.
@@sybilmccullers6291 Thank you for this comment on Julia's page. I definitely feel your pain too. I am in Peachtree Corners and mailed my tag to her from the Chamblee post office in mid June and she has yet to receive it (I should have just driven it up to her, she is only about an hour and a half from me, lol). But yet I mailed things to 7 other states including California and Oregon, the first week of July and every single one of those was received 4 days later - also mailed from Chamblee. I mailed Valentines day cards in Feb, to PA and those were not received until the middle of April. And lastly, I mailed a birthday card to a friend in Stockbridge in early June and she hasn't received it yet. Last week I had a very long discussion with the post master in Chamblee and he just blamed it on a post office in South GA and I also discovered that they have been over charging me on the 6x9 envelopes I have mailed. And yet the USPS see's it fit and fine to continue to raise postage in exchange for lousy service. The next time I mail Julia something, I am going to pay the few extra cents on it to get tracking with it so we can see exactly where the mail goes to within GA between Chamblee and Blairsville. I hope the things you have mailed, or were to receive, show up soon.
@@CampHappyMail We have been told it is a post office in Palmetto GA that is causing the problems. But I get mail from several states that will go to Atlanta to Palmetto to another different post office and back to Palmetto and bounce around for days. It is ridiculous. One went from Atlanta to somewhere in Florida and back to Palmetto to Atlanta and then to Stockbridge. I wonder if it is just Georgia. I feel the same about the postage rate going up. SO sad.
So bummed Maureen that your mail gets lost. Its happening to me as well. A birthday card i made and sent to you never did arrive😣
@@BettyMonroy-wp6eqYes, that’s another great example. I’m afraid to mail things out of GA because so much time and care goes into each card and then to have them get lost is just so upsetting.
Fabulous tags! I'm encouraged to jump in on your next challenge, it's fun to be pushed out of my comfort zone. Or so they say. ;) heh hehe
LOL - Trust me having Challenges is totally out of my comfort zone!! But, they are a lot of fun. So many talented crafters in this group!!
Everyone did a wonderful job! They are all beautiful. How could I fine out about these challenges and swaps?

Very nice tags
Thank you - It always amazed me how many different ideas come out of a challenge!
Wow Julia, these are truly works of art. Thanks for sharimg them with us. ❤ 🇨🇦 😊
You are so welcome B - everyone did a great job with them!!
Beautiful, beautiful tags...well done everyone. I hope to join in one of your challenges Julia once I settled down.
I know you will Terrie - just participate whenever you feel like it.
Wow talented and beautiful artist! Thank you for my challenges! Keeps my mind active! ✂️💌❤️
Thanks B - I thought everyone did such a great job with their tags - Honestly I just wanted to keep them all LOL!!
❤❤
Thanks Caroline!
I don’t understand why everybody needs so much stuff. I have an awful lot of stuff myself but I only have a corner desk in my family room and I keep it neat bc everybody can see it. Also I can’t work in a messy room. I do keep my stamps in one half of my guest room closets. I’m not putting anyone down but how can you remember what you have?
Hi Bettye - I categorize by subject, and pull the subject drawers out when I am looking for a stamp style to use.
what brand are your tweezers & where did you purchase them? i've been looking for good, pointed tweezers; so many have a slant tip.
Hi Tinker - I bought that set years ago, but here is a very similar set - www.amazon.com/kaverme-Anti-Static-Electronics-Laboratory-Jewelry-Making/dp/B0BNNGC3Q2/ref=sr_1_6?crid=1GLGFWB9AKTT4&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.CfMn7hmiXDiXYwQ5HJhOiUXomco4tVYwQjqsFoRGp5qY_4KuYCazBfCDikopiCTsiryufQIc70-zgfStUToxjfjIVSK_5rifuMfKEuR3ZowSBaNOejFutZyoWurmyiuJigvktLDbOtY1g4kgv-DNpSemlPzpZpRQXY-H1tsObwWRje93yEayvzSBflE7DsEqcfSZt_E2Z7M4OkNuFKkVQuAymSDHfFIosEg5_G8Cu5NAiqHSsfm7PG7grdnDsXJ14NefsttIEL9LfOx-xrKTo-aTjpNrX7LzrotE80WKpHo.fw0Y9LFvlCEtUkyP0uc9X9BJ76wnHsEfXudahZyqIZ0&dib_tag=se&keywords=tweezers%2Bfor%2Bcrafting&qid=1721134156&sprefix=tweezers%2Bfor%2Bcrafting%2Caps%2C104&sr=8-6&th=1
How fun Julia...these cards are really natural and oh so pretty!
Thank you Betty - Clouds are just fun aren't they?
nice
Thanks Missie - The faux vellum added a lot of nice texture to these cards.
very nice
Thanks Missie - Those cards were very well received!!
Hello Dear Julia, I'm still watching and loving your videos. I love your stencils.
Hi Lilly - Hope all is well with you!! I like this way to make stars they are just more whimsical than equal points to me. It looks like they are reaching up for a hug!
First and so far only video of yours I have seen and I am looking forward to watching more. Lovely cards from the leftover scraps. Thank you for sharing your ideas and the se charming cards!.
Hi Deborah and Welcome to My Channel. There is a lot of content already on the channel if you feel like doing some backwatching. Otherwise, I try to put out a new video on Sunday afternoons (USA time). So ... Come back soon!!
WOW - what a CLEVER way to create a star template!!! LOVE the sentiment you used!!! I'm pretty sure I have that stamp set in my stash. TFS!!! Have a GREAT week!!!
Hi Kathleen - Hope all is well with you! That stamp set is so very versatile. And of course it's packed away ... and that was my last one of "Wish"! So I'll have to come up with something else to use on the next Star Card LOL!!
Hello Julia I have never before seen a star maded that way. It is a great way to make an even star thank you for showing us how to make a great star, without using a stamp . Thank you again for sharing your ideas with us . 🐞🇦🇺
You are very welcome Nina! I like that you don't always have to have commercial cutting dies for everything...
You have such great ideas. Love seeing your videos.❤
Hi Linda - Glad you are enjoying them! Thank you!!
Your star design is quite a unique way of getting your points evening angled. For me to have it not come out with one point way shorter than the other at free hand drawing. Your card is another awesome stand alone creation Julia. Love it!!!
Thank you so much Roxanne - I can't free hand draw anything recognizable so I understand completely!! LOL
Love it!
Hi Janie - These are just the easiest cards to make!! Hope you'll try some...
An interesting way to make a star template, but it works out beautifully and makes a great card. I will have to go back again later to try this one out. Thank you for sharing.
You are very welcome Helen! Hope you try this and send me pics!!
Beautiful card Julia! What a great idea on making stars. 😊
Thank you Marilyn - I think they are a bit more whimsical than the standard equal pointed stars.
Hey there Julia, what a lovely card for either birthday or Christmas, and it would make a wonderful masculine card as well especially with those colours. I have always wondered how to make a neat star as mine usually turn out wonky... LOL! 🤣 I would imagine that once you have cut out the star template it would last many uses very much like your recent Christmas tree template. ⭐🎄 Julia, is your Books by Hand PVA glue just a regular PVA glue? I noticed that you were wearing a pink top today... 🩷🩷🩷 Have a wonderful day. God's blessings, love and hugs. 🥰🌷🩷
Hi Gloria - I think this would be the perfect Christmas card with an inside sentiment like "Wishing you a Merry Christmas"! Those 2 colours play very well together, especially when you introduce that little bit of gray. An you are right, I can see several cards made with this template!! Have a wonderful week. Many Blessings to you!!
You did it again, Julia!! Absolutely gorgeous!! Thanks for sharing.
Hi Robin - Glad you liked this one. I can't wait to send them in December!!
Hi Julie, may I ask what big shot do you recommend because their are so many , thank you
I started with a cuttlebug that I totally loved. But hand cranking started to affect my wrist so I switched to Gemini. I actually have 3 sizes of Geminis and would highly recommend the Junior. It handles most everything I die cut.
Beautiful card
Thanks Lavern. I think the inside very easily could read "Wishing you a Merry Christmas" it's a dual purpose card!
Genius idea for the Star pattern, and there are lots of possibilities with this design. Pretty card, Julia! Thanks for the tutorial! ❤️
You are very welcome Gigi! I'm pretty sure you could cut it in one piece, but it's just easier for me to do it in a 2-step process.
@@SeniorSusieStamps ❤️
Really like the asymmetrical star. It’s different and I like it! Thank you Julia
You are so welcome Sheila! Hope you'll try cutting one.
Another good idea! by the way I ordered the PVA glue too. It came Friday and I haven't had time to try it yet.
Thanks Sybil - Let me know how you like the glue. I'm still on the very first bottle I purchased in 2022!
❤
Thanks Caroline!
Tht's a cool way to make a star! I will have to go back and rewatch this to make sure I do it right! I love the subtle pattern to the background and the inside light star was a nice touch! You always come up with such neat ideas!
Thanks Maureen - These are really an easy way to make a Holiday card.
Beautiful card Julia. Can’t wait to try it.
Hi Susan - This star template is very versatile. Hope yours turn out well!
