I have been card making for 20+ year 🥰 and in 2 videos in 2 days, I’ve learned 2 tricks!! Shading the deckle edge and getting a dotted line from the wallpaper tape!! Game changers! 🎉🎉Thank you!
Using up scraps is one of my favorite card-making exercises. These are lovely. All I could think of while watching was whether you'd gotten your nap or not.😌 Seeing an idea often energizes me and I HAVE to try it out immediately.
BEAUTIFUL cards on BOTH the outside and inside!!! I've been trying to remember to use the scraps on the inside. AMAZING tip to use the drywall tape for faux stitching!!! Have a great week!!!
Beautiful cards as always! I love how you can line everything up so straight. I have a hard time with that even with a lined mat to help me. Just call me "Straight Challenged, " I guess. LOL! The 2 mm gems are wonderful. They look so nice on the snowflakes. You have me using scraps! Something I thought would never happen.😉❤
I suggest using that glue - it really has helped me be able to have an extra few seconds to straighten out things. Remember those scraps cost as much per square inch as a whole sheet!! If you can use them up for layers they really go fast!
I just found your channel last week and I’m blown away!! You are so creative it’s amazing and I’m in the process of catching up on all your paper scraps videos. I’ve been stamping for 10 years and I am also a Stampin Up demonstrator. After watching you I’m wishing I hadn’t sold or given away so many stamp sets!!! You’re amazing and I love how your cards are so “simply” beautiful. My sister and I are having a Senior Susie play date tomorrow and we can’t wait! We’re both new subscribers.
Hi Rita and Welcome to My Channel! There is a lot of content on the channel so have fun backwatching (more than just scrap videos I hope). I must say I think your play date sounds like fun - wish I was there in person! It's always fun to make cards in a group. I try to put out a new video on Sunday afternoons (USA time) - So, Come Back Soon!!
I am inspired watching your videos. I have so many scraps can’t wait to watch your future videos and projects. I have been working with drywall tape and never thought about using it on cards. And making cards for shops I am always wanting to do something new and different. Thank you
Thanks Leann! Scraps can be a bit pesky huh? But I have less now than I ever have and keep using them up. It's all in the plan of how you can use a piece of paper to the fullest when you make that first cut. Drywall tape makes great cards. There are several videos on the channel if you are interested. Here are a couple of links - ua-cam.com/video/FgFFENOIJZY/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/INO9Sa9fNJs/v-deo.html
Thanks Judith! Just one more way to use drywall tape. And it does much better at faux stitching that I can free-hand. If I'll just hush and watch what I'm doing LOL!!!
i have so many scraps that I could make cards and never touch a full sheet of pattern paper & cardstock. Thanks for the lesson on making scrap work well on simple cards. Have a great week.
That's basically what I have been doing for the last 18 months Terrie. I am still finding scraps in the studio and cringe at cutting a full sheet of paper. It's much better to get a grip a bit earlier in the process!! But as they say hind sight is 20/20!!
I love these cards and the rich Christmas colors. Did you know that some Dollar Tree stores have the Cutterbee scissors...for $2 a pair! I bought some for two friends and a couple extras for myself.
I about heard that Elsie but have not had a chance to go check my stores. I think and extra pair or two is a great idea! It amazes me that a bright yellow pair of scissors can disappear LOL!!!
Hi, I'm a new subscriber and really enjoying your videos. I live in the UK and our standard card (equivalent to the US A2 card) measures 4.1" × 5.8" (which is half of our standard A4 card, folded to make a card). So the 4 × 6 card you made in this video is just a smidge different from our standard card size! Your dry wall tape trick is absolutely brilliant, I will certainly be trying it out. Anyway I loved the cards you made (and your additional use of the dry wall tape as a stencil!). Thanks for sharing, you are an inspiration.
Welcome Titian! I am so glad you are here. There is plenty of content on the channel to back watch if you like. And I try to put out a new video Sunday afternoon (USA Time) - So, Come Back Soon!!
G'day Julia, these are lovely cards. You are certainly motoring on with your Christmas cards, and if you keep on going you will have Christmas cards for next year as well... just joking as I know you have to make lots for the seniors too. Also, I realised that you will be able to use up your 16 containers worth of Christmas papers... LOL! 🤣 I have very little Christmas papers in my stash. I just counted 5 small 6" x 6" pads which would barely fill one container!!! Sorry Julia, I still can't get over your 16 containers of Christmas papers! 🙃 Julia, do you take nana naps? 💤💤💤I try not to as I would have trouble sleeping at night otherwise. God's blessings, love and hugs. Gloria 🥰🍁🍂❤
Hi Gloria - Surprisingly I still have quite a few Christmas cards to get made by Nov 1st, which is coming fast!! I try not to nap because I struggle with sleeping at night. But after a sleepless night, sometimes I just need one...Blessings and Hugs back to you! Julia
Hi Vicki - Those came from amazon several years ago. This is probably not the same set, but similar - www.amazon.com/Precision-Anti-Static-Electronics-Laboratory-Jewelry-Making/dp/B07RNVXXV1/ref=sr_1_5?crid=2JGEZPDI22KVU&keywords=fine%2Btip%2Btweezers&qid=1693840679&sprefix=fine%2Btip%2Btweezers%2Caps%2C114&sr=8-5&th=1
Just came across your Chanel. Love these ideas. Where do you get Christmas aglow paper pad. I’ve checked Amazon and Simon says stamps. What company is it. I like that there are pop outs. Earlier in the year I made several birthday cards from some patterned paper. So easy and fun. Quick cards. Thanks

I watched you make three Christmas Trees last night from half circle that you made two folds that dresses up Trees. I missed how to find where to score. How do I find this information
Hi Mary - That is different video. My templates are already packed for the studio move, but if I recall you start about 1 1/4 inches down and make about a 60 degree fold at that point. Fold back and forth and adjust as needed. Try one and see if that doesn't work for you. If not, send me a PM over on facebook page and I will send you the correct answer as soon as I have time to figure it out. We are in the process of moving so it won't be very soon I'm afraid. Here is a link to that video if you want to watch - ua-cam.com/video/l95Naywg0hI/v-deo.html
Hi Jukes - You can always weigh them with a gram scale 28 grams is equal to 1 ounce. I find that most cards are under that. But if I have to add a little postage, I remember it's a handmade card - and I saved quite a bit by not buying the card. Most cards I have purchased are 5 x 7 and they require the extra postage too. Not sure you can win on postage. It just comes with the territory.

Thanks so much Nancy!
I loved Stamper's Sampler and Take Ten. I was published in both of them. It made me try new things.
Exactly Jessica!! And Kudos to you for getting published!! Yay You!!!

I actually really like these cards. Colorful and tasteful!

Thank you! I'm glad you like that jewel picker - I reach for mine practically every card!!
Hi again Julia. I love your videos and I always seem to co e away with a new trick or two to try out. Great cards. Thanks so much. 😊🇨🇦
Glad you like them! I may try to sneak another quickie in later this week, depending on how things go around here...
Wonderful cards, and I love the way you chose the papers. SO pretty.
Thank you so much Sybil! I appreciate it!
Thank you! Love the use of drywall tape!
You are so welcome! Glad that was helpful...it makes my faux stitching much easier.

LOVE the faux stitching using drywall tape. I'm going to have to go digging in the garage to see if I can find some!
Hi Anne - It's a gamechanger for me, because my faux stitching is pitiful!! LOL
Love the faux Stitching, I keep forgetting that decorative technique.
Sometimes you just need a little something more. And when I can't figure out what that is, I try to remember stitching. It usually does the trick!
Alright I'm convinced, buying dry wall tape.
LOL - Knew I'd eventually wear you down...LOL
Pretty cards, Julia! I love using my scraps and this is a great way to do that. Thanks! 😊
Glad you like them Gigi! I especially like that the pattern paper made such great focals I didn't have to do anything but layer them up!
Great tip for faux stitching. Pretty cards
Glad it was helpful Laura!
Another great video on using scraps tfs
You are so welcome Ruth!
I have just started following you and I love what I am seeing. I am also a senior and some of things I have seen you do will be helpful. Thanks.
Awesome! Thank you Donna and Welconme to My Channel! I try to put out a new video Sunday afternoons (USA time) so Come Back Soon!!

Oh that's wonderful! I'm so glad! That one I found in the magazine will definitely use up some scraps!!
These are adorable!
Thank you - and they use up a nice bit of scrap paper too!!

How do your cards keep from being too bulky (or top heavy) with multiple layers of paper? That's the problem I'm having.
Please what is drywall tape
