I love your card. It’s beautiful. Who needs stamps when you have a cotton ball and a pen? This is one you don’t mass produce, but give to special people. See you next Sunday.
Oh Janet - You completely summed it up. Since most of my stamps are in storage I am trying to be inventive with minimal supplies. I made a couple of Christmas cards y'day using this technique and I can't wait to show you!
@SeniorSusieStamps you did great with the line work here. I can't wait to see the Christmas cards. I have a hard time with cookie cutter cards yet I have bought so many stamps; most are unused! That was years ago though. I just need to trust my own creative skills. Like you!
@@janetphelps6879 Whenever I start an off the beaten path project like this, that is the most rewarding day for me in the studio. I posted a couple of Christmas cards over on the facebook page. Here are some links in case you want to see them. facebook.com/photo?fbid=489750856913958&set=a.183450580877322 facebook.com/photo/?fbid=490305193525191&set=a.183450580877322
@SeniorSusieStamps I LOVE them both. That's what I'm talking about. Loose, free and unique. I need to do better at line work. Mine seems choppy and stiff. Maybe...I just can't draw! Idk. But I want to!
You know - I felt the same way the first one of these I made. I woke up one morning thinking about the technique and couldn't wait to get to the studio! Hope you'll try some...
It really is Marilynn! I may have to wean myself off the technique like I did with drywall tape, because it's a bit addictive. I made 2 Christmas cards y'day with it...
When I saw these I wondered if you were going to show us how you did them. SO pretty. I will try that, but I have a hard time doing things that are freehanded like that. Should be an adventure. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Sybil - This is the nice thing about smooshing the flower faces in before you do the pen work. You can just follow the smoosh! And, it's the second line that really makes the impact. I have done several with only one line, and they are nice. But adding that second one seems to finish off the piece somehow.
What a fun technique! I love how you made your little smooshers and came up with the idea to make flowers! I may have to give this a try! Thank you for sharing such a fun idea that didn't need stamps!
You are so welcome Kathy! And I appreciate your feedback. I have been cutting out some of the mundane stuff that we all know anyway. And I wasn't sure if it was the right thing to do...
Wow I love that! I’m gonna see my granddaughter soon and we always like to color so we’re gonna try this! Very nice! Btw love your nails they’re so pretty and long! Hard to get them like that with all the moving y’all are doing! Have a nice week, thanks for another great video! 🩷
Oh that's wonderful news! Please let me know how she likes the technique! Perhaps watch the video with her to give her some ideas? About my nails - we do not have a dishwasher at the little blue cottage, so I have been doing a lot of dishes by hand. LOL go figure that!!!
As my nephews use to say, “Way cool”! I think I might even be able to do this. LOL I will have to add this to my give it a try list. Great job! Thanks for sharing this with us.
@@SeniorSusieStamps LOL sunroom still needs 7 curtains sewn so all new projects on hold. Hopefully I can get to the fabric store in a few days to find some complimentary fabric.
Wow, this was fun watching you create this technique. I never seen this before, you did a fantastic job doing it. yup, that is my problem I always over think. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Terrie - Hope you are having a good week. Look at this as an exercise in relaxing and letting your mind drift. Just enjoy the process and remember - "It's only a piece of paper!"
Hey julia, wow how gorgeous. Beautiful colours. Do you know it almost looks like embroidery. Stunning. Thank you. See you nxt week. Take care of you. ❤
Hi Julia, I was fascinated with your card project today, as I do something very similar (if not the same) but with watercolours on water colour paper. It is soooo fun to do. The best thing is that you don't have to be perfect, and it is best if you have white areas in your flowers. Julia, what inspired you to create your flowers this way? You are so right by keeping your hand loose as you draw the outlines, and a must to go over the lines several times. I usually allow my paint to dry like you before I doodle the outlines, but it can be done wet as well for a different look. Thank you for doing this video, Julia. 💖 God's blessings, love and hugs. 🌸🌺🏵🌼
Hi Gloria - This inspiration was one I woke up with last week, and could barely wait to get to the studio. When I was in the hospital with my sister last January, I saw some artwork that was probably in the back of my brain. All of a sudden it had to come out! I can say, it was a very enjoyable week in the studio. Attaching a pic of a Christmas card I made y'day because I know you don't do facebook - facebook.com/photo/?fbid=489750856913958&set=a.183450580877322 Have a very Blessed Week! Julia
I just love these flowers! How unique and pretty. Thank you for showing us how to make these. I can’t wait to see what you come up with for Christmas. I am a new follower and just love your calm voice and fun sense of humor

This is the second time I've seen you use a 'smoosher', and I'm curious to know if you came up with the idea yourself recently, or saw it on another channel. NB cards has been using this technique for a long long time, and if you copied it from her, I'm disappointed that no credit for the technique was given to the original poster.
Julia what a fabulous idea! This is perfect for someone who wants to get into card designs, but can't afford to purchase a bunch of supplies.
Yes or someone who has their stamps in a storage unit LOL!!!
WOW - these cards are AMAZING!!! Thank you SO MUCH for sharing!!!
Hi Kathleen! Hope all is well with you. This is a great technique and very relaxing. Hope you'll try it soon!
WOW! What an amazing beautiful card this turned out to be. Love it!
Glad you like it! I hope you'll try this Helen and let me know what you think?!
What a lovely card. You make it look so simple and it looks like it was made with a fancy stamp. Thank you for sharing!🙂
You are so welcome!
Julia im loving this technique! Absolutely darling😁
You will really love it when you do a few for your collection! Such a fun process!!

Love this idea. Stamps have their place but this is so much more original and artistic. 😊

More Mustard was one of my favorite colors!
It's a great color!! I went back in and added a little more to the card after I looked at it in the natural light. It's such a great depth color.
I bought the book binding glue and I love it!
Yay You! It will take forever to use it up too. Very reasonably priced in my book!!
Great technique, lovely cards😊
Thanks so much Frances!
