"Whooper-jawed". "Flowerdy" You did not disappoint with your folksy sayings today, crafty lady! I love to hear your voice as you make your precious cards.
Hi, I am watching again today. I am saving some of you videos so I can watch and I will start making cards again. I am finally starting to feel like it 😊😊😊
Hi Julia, what great cards. I love that you just put things in a packet and work with them and somehow all the colours seem to come together cohesively -- great job. Thanks so much. ❤ 🇨🇦 😊
Hey Susan - That paper is called The Little Things, and it is very versatile! And still available from paperwishes. I put a link in the description. I wish the USA-CA shipping wasn't so high for you. Have a wonderful week ahead.
Your cards a wonderful!! Thanks for the inspiration and encouragement to use up scraps and not to focus on matching colors and patterns and perfect alignment.
On Your last card I wasn’t sure about but it turned out beautiful! You’ve got a great style that I like very much! Thanks for sharing your great cards! ❤
LOL Beverly - sometimes when I get started on a card I think "Girl! What are you doing?!" And then it somehow comes around...that's the way it goes around here. Have a good week!!
Thanks Sharon! This paper happens to still be available if you want to get some for yourself. Most of it is a nice small pattern that makes great cards. paperwishes.com/products/4104271
Hey julia. So nice to see you again, beautiful cards great ideas for scraps. I often run out of ideas. Thanks for sharing. You take care of you. Love from across the pond. Norfolk england. ❤X
Howdy Linda! Hope you are doing well and enjoying this lovely spring. This paper makes great cards that are so easy to put together. I think it's primarily because most of the patterns are small enough to mix up easily.
Thank you - I enjoyed making these. The paper made it easy and it's still available - LOL not many of my supplies are! Here's a link if you're interested. paperwishes.com/products/4104271
Hi Roxanne! It's nice to hear from you again. I had a lovely weekend actually! I hope yours was every bit as nice as mine. That paper is still available and here is a link in case you are interested paperwishes.com/products/4104271
I am soooo glad your back!!! I miss having my morning coffee while watching you!!! I also use these pens (and have a love/hate relationship with them). I have gone through 7 now, and at only 1 use per pen. (That's expensive!) The best way I found is - store them, laying on their side and use them every couple of days ( just scribble to keep the ink flowing). Still not as good as it should be, but better. Best answer...DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! As far as the pen you already have...i think it's a lost cause. I've already tried on my 7 without any success, SORRY!! Another alternative to add highlights, try using a white colored pencil.( cheaper and you can count on it working) I'm open if anyone has something that I haven't already tried!
Oh Robin - I can't tell you how glad I am to be back! You are so right those pens are way too expensive not to work any better than they do. I have much success with Jellyrolls. But every once in a while I order a Uni to see if they have improved, because I really like they way the write a little better. I'm always disappointed and am done with it.
@@SeniorSusieStamps I have tried the clear sparkle jelly roll but not the white one. I was very pleased the sparkle one. I am going to try it. Thanks!!!! I never thought of that one!!
Thanks Terrie! These were easy cards. I thought after I made the video that I must have trimmed the scraps down to usable sizes before I put them in their storage sleeve with the mother pack. They just went together too easily!! I liked the little flowers best. That paper makes great cards!
Thank you for another way of using up my scraps. Your ideas will be very handy for making cards for the Nursing Home, it will make my pattern paper go further. 🐞🇦🇺
I’m so happy to see you being able to share videos again! You really inspire me. I know you have been on Facebook but I don’t go there often. Welcome back!😁
Hey there Julia, I think you are the Queen of Scraps the way you use up almost every piece in your stash. I can imagine very little finds its way into your garbage bin! At times I am a bit naughty and throw pieces away as I feel I don't want to use that paper again... EVER! I loved all the cards that you made today, and I am sure that the recipients will never know that their card used up scrap cardstock. I thought it was a clever idea with the third card where you turned the corners of the square cardstock to reveal the other side... clever you! Now regarding the white Uni -Ball Signo gel pens... ARGH... I hear you, and yes, I have that problem also. Isn't it frustrating using the gel pen on a project attempting an even fine line, and the pen stops working midline. And you are right, there is always lots of gel ink left in the barrel. I sometimes wonder if the gel ink is too thick and needs something to warm it up a little prior to use. I roll the pen madly between my hands in the hopes that it will get the pen to flow. Sometimes it helps, but often it can be still frustrating. I once had various colours of gel pens, and they all acted the same, so I ended up throwing them away. However, in card making I find it essential to have a white pen to accent highlights on objects like balloons etc...! To be honest I don't know if there is a solution, and I am sure there are a lot of white (and other) gel pens out there being tossed in the garbage bin because they don't work. Have a wonderful and blessed day my friend. God's richest blessings, love and hugs. Gloria 🥰☕🍰💐❤
LOL - Hi Gloria - I understand never wanting to see some paper again!! Remember that really ugly paper I made cards out of? Well, yes it is still in the stash somewhere. And it may make it's way out to another video in 10 years LOL!!! Oh those pens - When they work they are wonderful. They are not cheap, and I try really hard to cap them immediately after use. It's just frustrating. I have a different white pen that works much better, but I can't find it at the moment...go figure that!! LOL Have a wonderful week m'dear. Walk with God, Blessings to you, Julia
Your cards from scraps always amaze me. So beautiful and each one unique! You really have a super good eye for design! I love that you're able to use the sentiment strips too! As far as the white pen, I have the same issue that you have... lots of ink in the barrel and a dry tip that prevents me from being able to use the ink. I have tried all different kinds of white pens over the years and never had any luck with any of them. Hopefully some of your followers will have some good tips to share! I had to laugh when you pulled out the acetate! I do the same exact thing and have for years, going back to my scrapbook days! I have them in all kinds of sizes for mats and frames!
Hey Julia, perhaps you already tried this but holding your pen, with the penpoint, over a steaming kettle? My dad used to do this, very carefully, not to burn himself, with Bicpens when the point wouldn t roll anymore. Then it tended to work again. But this is a remedy from 45 years ago. So I am not sure!😂😉 Thanks for sharing your ideas!
Susie when I have problems with gel clogging in my pen I try a drop of water.usually it work. Not a lot though. Quick dip of just the tip or a drop dripped on the tip.
I have the same problem with the white pens and I’ve bought soooo many brands that everyone recommends. I just happen to think…I wonder if an alcohol swab would help. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m going to today! 💕🌸💕
@@SeniorSusieStamps Well that tells me the ink is dried up inside the pen. Maybe write to the manufacturer and ask them. I write to a LOT of companies and have often gotten positive results/changes.
Sometimes scraps make the best cards, love how these turned out. Love how you made your flowers just a little offset.❤
They are often my favorites too!

Hi Nina - I believe in using as much of a piece of paper as we can, for sure! Do you ever print your own digital paper?
Yes, I do make my own DSP. I like watching Artfulstampin, Ruth makes some beautiful DSP.
@@ninaladybirdcards4261 Thanks Nina - I will check her out. I'm inspired to make my own paper - like I need more paper LOL!!!
The folded paper is an interesting design element. Nice cards.
Thanks so much! I got that idea from an old Take Ten magazine I was flipping through the other day.
Loved this video and seeing you make 4 great cards from leftover scraps and the folded pieces used to give interest to your card.
Thank you so much Helen - have a great week ahead!!

I have a favorite white pen, but can't seem to find it anywhere. Jellyrolls rarely lock up like the uni's do. But I like the uni's when they work!!
Ladies, try cleaning off the tip of the pen with rubbing alcohol. Soak it if necessary to loosen up the ball. I prefer jellies too!

Perhaps the heat makes the ink fluid again?
I will try that. I can get the point to roll with alcohol soak. But it doesn't draw any ink. Very frustrating.

Hi Janie - I have dipped those pens in water to try to soak the clogged tip and nothing. Gelly Rolls are my go to white - they always seem to work.

I have dipped it in alcohol and left it for a minute or two with no luck. The ball starts rolling, but no ink flows out. Very frustrating.
@@SeniorSusieStamps Well that tells me the ink is dried up inside the pen. Maybe write to the manufacturer and ask them. I write to a LOT of companies and have often gotten positive results/changes.
Have you tried putting a lighter up to the tip of your white pen. It can work or ruin the pen, but at this point it is not useful.
Hi Missie - Thanks for the suggestion. Sadly, I have tried that too! I have just learned to get Gelly Roll white pens.
