Watershed Overlook
Приєднався 25 кві 2021
Using my Kubota LX2610 to do some chores at our place in the heart of Virginia's Chesapeake Bay watershed. I'm likely to make some boneheaded mistakes along the way, so hopefully someone will benefit from my missteps. I maintain a mile long private road with my EA Wicked Xtreme 66" Box Blade, cut up things with chainsaws, work on boat projects, and more. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you hang around!
Awesome Gift From A Big Time YouTuber
I received a VERY nice gift from a fellow UA-cam creator and much larger channel. Really amazing concept, design and execution. The good news is in the near future, you could have something similar for yourself!

Very helpful videos. I have the exact same tractor and just hit 52 hours. I believe those copper washers are actually called crush washers. They can be re-used but should really be replaced every time. On the hydraulic filter (messy one) change, my dealer suggested I use a shop vacuum to apply pressure and reduce spillage--not that I have done it yet.
@sailorcto Thanks for watching, and glad you found it helpful. 👍 I too have heard about the shop-vac trick...think I'll give it a shot next time! 😎
I really appreciate your video. Thanks!
@@Rook02715 Thanks! I appreciate you watching! 👍😎

@ryanlynch2259 Thanks Ryan. It doesn't suck....😉😄👍
Hey Chris, Could you please send me your physical address. I have something I would like to send you Thanks Chris, and HAPPY NEW YEAR
Merry Christmas Chris and thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I saw your list in the description and was confused as I saw three valves listed. Your parts listed helps. I thought a second lever would be included when you bought a second valve? Makes sense they would make you buy another lever. Side note to others: I used the Kubota configure tool on their website and as of the past few days it doesn’t list the part numbers when you go to the rear valves area on your build.
Great video Chris! I have a LX3310 and want to add top and tilt. I use the same blade as you and a landscape plane. I am confused which two valve kits I need buy. I want one with a float/detent. Do I purchase the B7306 and B7305 valve or is there a combo you would recommend? Thank you!
@drbankhead1 Merry Christmas, and thanks for the kind feedback. The part #s I ordered should be in the video description (B73XX), although to be honest, there was some confusion about them. Not trying to pass the buck, but I would definitely recommend talking to your dealer to make sure you get the correct parts. For stuff like that I always talk to my salesman...I sometimes get better pricing than just going straight to the parts counter. Good luck! (BTW...it's the BEST thing I've done to my tractor. I'll never again have a tractor without a hydraulic top link!)
Harbor Freight sells an ammo can that fits the same foot print as the factory Kubota toolbox and it only costs 10 ish or so dolllars. It's twice as big and water proof.
I added grab hooks to my bucket, but I used bolt on hooks…absolutely necessary.
Did you ever paint the packout box?
@@carlanderson9519 I did. I'm way behind on editing, but you should be able to see it in an upcoming video. Thanks for watching. 👍😎
With "Kubogy's " Priceing-stradegedy" ( Everybody pays the same price). I would of been VERY Happy "IF" my Dealer would of Given ME a 47 CENT / Rebate for a "Tool-Box Delete Program"...... The "Joke" was ELIMINATED 45 SECONDS after the Delivery of the 42,000$ tractor, & sits under the Werk-bench/ Empty & USELESS.
Lol! Thanks for watching. 👍😎
Clearly I’m not the brightest. I can’t get this PTO to extend lol. The measurements are good so I don’t have to cut it but how do I extend it
@@timothykidd7193 I'm guessing it's just a little seized up from storage. I imagine some brute force should solve the issue...👍😎
I have 4 of the six. I have purchased the added on lights and a backup camera but have not installed yet. I do have the third function on the front but have not added the rear remotes as yet. However there are three items that you did not mention that are also a game changer for my use. #1 is the grill guard!!! The first time I used my tractor I got a stick into the front grill which fortunately did not penetrate the grill or the radiator but made me aware of the potential. I ordered a custom powder coated to match steel grill guard for $350 and installed it myself. #2 is the fiberglass canopy. It was $650 installed and color matched to my tractor. Very nice to keep the weather at bay and the seat dry :) #3 is unique to my kubota grand L 3060 tractor. It was an add on for $65 installed cruise control Oooo very nice to prevent driver fatigue. As it can be easily set at any speed and continues at that speed until you hit the controls. So mowing or ? At a consistent 3 mph is no problem. Anyway those are my favorites and are well worth the $’s
@4leapfroggy All excellent choices! I would love a canopy, but my garage doors at the Overlook and at home both require that I lower the ROPS, so that would be problematic. Whenever I get around to the third function, I'll definitely be adding a grill guard! As to the cruise control...it comes standard on the LX, although I don't use it a ton. Thanks for watching! 👍😎
Full watch Chris
Wow! That sign is amazing! What a gift!
@@tractortalkwithgary1271 My thoughts exactly!
Just found this video Chris. Haven’t heard or seen anything from you in a good long while. Everything alright Chris?
@tractortalkwithgary1271 Hey Gary, all is well, just tied up with life. Just finished a big project...editing, editing...😉👍😎
Agreed, most LX owners would love this. In the big picture, why isn't this standard equipment on any LX? It would certainly raise the bar for tractors in this class (hint, hint Kubota). I have the added fun of removing the backhoe (no regrets on adding that to my order, but it was spendy) and capping off the hydraulic connections there. I don't think they could be used for the top link project, because the remotes on actually on the backhoe.
@@sailorcto Yeah, I guess the backhoe would add another level of complexity. Hadn't thought about that! Good luck. 👍😎
This is a brilliant video. I am ordering one for my LX2610 and a Land Pride QH15. Thanks for this and the other videos.
@sailorcto Thanks for the kind words; glad you found it helpful! You'll love the upgrade!
Dam never thought about this. The dealers should explain this beforehand.
@@johnnywishbone1349 Yeah, it didn't seem really intuitive. Lesson learned!
where did you get the rops knob?
@@gsawoodworking969 I got it at my Kubota dealer. The part # should be in the video description. 👍😎
On the clip, use pliers and remove it. Get one that works for you. 2nd, I removed my PTO shield a long time ago. Don't need it because I won't put my hands in there while it's on. I have several implements, and they are all a pain to slip on.
@dancincowboy38 Thanks for watching, and the tips. I'm getting better at it! 👍😎
Mine makes the same noise , but it has like a burnt smell. I’ve only used it like 5 times and I never noticed it until today. But I been having it for over 3 yrs.
Great video! Do you know what size the female couplers are? I am planning to add the exact kit you did, but my implement has 1/2" ag quick connects. Trying to figure out if they will fit or if I need to have adapters made....maybe a foot of hose with the Kubota connectors on one end and 1/2" ag on the other.
@dgreen1069 Thanks for watching! I believe the connections are 1/4". A bit aggravating, as the norm definitely seems to be 1/2"!
Great vid especially since there are no reviews on the EMP website. Do you think the mount can be installed to the rear or is it strictly either left or right side? Thanks!
@silvercreek89 Thanks for the kind words. I'm not near the tractor right now so can't confirm the rear fitment. I'll have to check and let you know for sure. 👍
@@watershedoverlook So I ended up buying one-great quality, but doesn't quite work with my Massey-Ferguson sub-compact due to the taillights blocking the Packout lid from opening more than 2". I had the 12" high Packout like you have in the video. If I went with one of the smaller Packouts (not as high) it would work on the right side while sightly blocking the fuel filler. The U-bracket (3") is too short for me to mount it on the ROPS to the rear where I want it, but if I find a 4" U-bracket, I think I can mount it to the rear. Also purchased EMP's Rigid Sunshade, it is the lowest priced ROPS mounted hard canopy out there at $279 and is solid (horrible instructions though, took almost 3 hours to put on...).
Pallet forks - Probably the very best accessory for a loader equipped tractor - not in the $100 or less category - but - once you get a set the bucket needs a place to be stored. Pallet forks are a back saver. When I bought my B2601 I got the dealer to add the extendable 3pt arms kit from the B2610 (they fit the B2601 perfectly) and come with the ratchet adjustable link - the ratcheting link is as you demonstrate is a game changer! Especially valuable with a box blade. I think the extendable 3 Pt kit was about $300 which I consider a good value - mades hooking up any attachment a breeze if you don’t want a quick attach.
@gregorymacneil2836 I am also a big pallet forks fan. I jokingly refer to them as "the poor man's grapple". Certainly there are things a grapple can do that forks can't (and I'd love to have one), but the forks are super versatile and a LOT cheaper!
I purchased a Woodland Mills Chipper and agree with you on the manual. Their manuals are the best that I have encountered. Not only are they in colour but they are well thought out.
My thoughts exactly Gregory! Thanks for watching. Cheers!
@@watershedoverlookHello Chris, I like your videos - have you added a bolt on cutting edge to your bucket? My original B2601 bucket did not have the required holes for a bolt on edge so I had to drill them (tough work) - I had to sharpen the drill bit a few times - the Kubota dealer did not have an edge for my 54” bucket but they gave me a sweet deal one for a much larger tractor that I cut to length. Anyways you should get one for you bucket as it does not appear you have one - I purchased the wheel spinner you showed in your top five accessories video and love it - great for loader work.
@gregorymacneil2836 That's funny...just last weekend I was thinking about adding an edge for my bucket. Its definitely on the list!
Top-n-tilt is awesome and once you have it, you wonder how anyone lives without it. But the catch on compact tractors is those interference problems. I've been fiddling around with hydraulic hose fittings lately, trying to keep the hoses from kinking or catching...
You are 100% right...I'd never have another tractor without it! Thanks for watching. 👍😎
Learned a good bit on this - BX here, waiting on the rear remote kit to be fedex'd now, lol. Appreciate the detail
Thanks for watching. Glad you found it helpful. The rear remotes are BY FAR the best upgrade I've done to the tractor...you are gonna' LOVE it! Hope the install goes (went?) well!
there is a red plastic clip on that boot. slip it out with a screwdriver then turn it will slip back right out of the way. hope that helps
That's a great tip...thanks!
Nice jacket 😂
Couldn't agree more...I love it. Thanks for watching. 👍😎
Great job on the review it's better than the two sales people I spoke to good luck with your Kubota !!
Thanks for the kind words. I'm still loving it!
bout 75 % of my stumps have large rocks heaved in them this is def not the attachment for me sadly. New England is rough digging
Yikes! Sounds like dynamite might be the best stump removal tool up there! Thanks for watching. 😉🤣👍
I've got an L3301 and a WG24. I usually leave the WG24 on the ground and connect the pto shaft before connecting to the quick hitch. That shaft will extend to give you some room to get in there however I know what you mean when it comes to getting that spring loaded button pushed in to connect to PTO. I usually can turn my pto by hand until it aligns to the shaft, making it a little easier. Great video and content!
Thanks Bassman, and sorry for my slow response! I'm still honing my hook-up procedure. I'm getting better, but it's still a pain! FYI, I am in the midst of a pretty big stump removal project...more WG24 content on the way if you are interested!
I thank you for your video presentation. I have a LX 3520 with a cab from Kabota. Any ideas and suggestions are always appreciated. So far I have a Harbor Freight bucket with a nylon strap and a cover held up by the 3 PT HITCH. Thank you for your wonderful ideas!
