Panthers Flipped the Script In Game 2, Rodrigues the Hero to help the Cats Take a 2-0 Lead

- On today's edition of the Locked On FLORIDA Panthers Podcast, Armando Velez(@Mandoman12) brought in Jackson Holzer(@JacksonH_52) to the show to break down the Panthers' 4-1 win over the Edmonton Oilers in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final. Florida picked up where they left off from the third period of Game 1 and showed up early. Despite the Panthers trailing in the first after Matias Ekholm finished on the breakaway, the Panthers continued to stick with their identity. Florida tied it in the second period after disrupting a dump in by Edmonton, but after Niko Mikkola almost knocked it into his own net, the Panthers came up with speed where Lundell's drop it to Mikkola as they gained the zone and got shot past the glove of Stuart Skinner. That's Mikkola's 5th goal of the season regular season and postseason, and three of them have been against Edmonton. Panthers were able to get a goal after making a line change with putting Rodrigues back on the top line with Barkov, and with a partial change while the Cats were on the forecheck, Evan Rodrigues retrieved his own shot and finished past the blocker to give the Panthers the lead. Panthers struggled on the power play, but broke through with the second unit as Lundell drove up the left wing wall before his centering feed was redirected by Rodrigues for the second goal of the game, third of the series. Panthers dealt with some scares in Game two where Eetu Luostarinen collided with Warren Foegele knee-on-knee(with Foegele getting a match penalty and a 5-minute major), Leon Draisaitl gettting Barkov up high and not returning, and a collision with Aaron Ekblad and Connor McDavid at the end boards early in the game. Oilers Defenseman Darnell Nurse was limited after the first period where Edmonton was playing with five defenseman for a majority of the game. The guys give their three stars, when they thought the game was won, and discuss the Panthers ability to win different type of ways, and now their home record improving to 8-3 on the postseason. Great win for the Cats! Our depth really paid dividends. I don't know what's more criminal ... Bill Zito coming in THIRD for GM of the Year or Draisaitl only getting a 2 minute minor for the headshot on Barkov? You know Tkachuk or Bennett would have gotten a major & a suspension if they gave McDavid a cheap shot like that. It was a big relief to see both Luostarinen and Ekblad return to the ice.
My 3 wishes for Game 3: (1) Barkov returns healthy; (2) knock off the silly ticky-tack penalties to keep the Oilers off the power play; and (3) consistently screen the goalie (always have a body posted in front of Skinner). We also need to avoid getting baited into retaliation penalties as the Oilers want to play 4 on 4. Edmonton will now be playing with desperation so the Cats need to match that intensity.

No suspension for Draisital. If Panthers want to do in kind to McDavid, I’d expect the same penalty and same downplaying from the media/content creators/Oiler fans/haters/Canadian fans.

Wonder if Draisital gets a suspension. Head shots with injury. NHL weighting of games missed based on importance of game in playoffs.
Maybe a 1 game suspension in the SCF comparable to 5 games regular season? Does Draisital have any history?
