t is truly disheartening to witness someone so disconnected from a masterpiece that resonates deeply with so many. Your insensitivity is not just disappointing; it reflects a troubling inability to appreciate the depth and artistry of such an iconic film. I find it embarrassing to know that there are individuals who can watch Gladiator without feeling anything at all. This is a film that demands emotional engagement, and your complete lack of response is a stark reminder of how some people can be so inept when it comes to recognizing true art. I hope you take this critique to heart and reconsider your approach to films that have touched the lives of countless others

Sorry, you feel that way. I find it more embarrassing that your whole judgement comes from me not being O.T.T. while watching a beautiful film. You speak so passionately about a movie yet can be so insensitive and rude because my reaction didn't fit into your mold. It's disheartening and a stark reminder that not everyone is accepting of the different nuances of emotions and how they're expressed. And no, I will not reconsider my approach, as I am unapologetically me, and my reactions will stay true to who I am. 😁😉

A bit of military tactics: did you notice which way the men on horses (cavalry) were heading? Guess where they wound up and which way they charged. The attacked body of men were Germanic (perhaps Teutons), but not Celts nor Vikings.

Such a beautiful movie, such masterful acting performances. Shia pulled a tooth, kept his face cut, refused to shave, shower or change his clothes for days or weeks at a time. Ur next should be saving Private Ryan, or hacksaw Ridge. I'll give u some more True type or True Story movies to watch! Go in search, 100 greatest war movies. Also check lone survivor, Blackhawk down, 1917, Dunkirk, hacksaw Ridge, warhorse, big Red one, hamburger Hill, unbroken , once we were soldiers, 13 hours, zero dark thirty, and any other True Story war movies. Hacksaw ridge, lone survivor, once we were soldiers, maybe more brutal than this!! My Dad had me when he was older he fought the Japanese, he said their brutality was unreal. He got shot through and through, the spleen. He said he plug his wounds with dirt, leaves, wrapped all in banana leaves, then his tshirt pieces, then bandages. Then fought his way back to the rear. He said no way he was staying on the battlefield waiting for a medic, but picked up by the japs, first! Watch hacksaw Ridge, of Desmond Doss, one of the greatest ever. Then type in here, Roy Benevidez, the Lazarus soldier! Maybe the greatest of all time! I met him once in the early nineties when I was stationed at Bragg. He was a shell of a man but still super proud he could still wear his uniform! Type his name in here! For individual stories, type in here, Audie Murphy, Sgt York, Marcus Latrell, Roy Benevidez, and first medal of honor winner captured on video, and Shugart and Gordon from Blackhawk down. Older movies like bridge at ramegen, dirty dozen, great escape, a bridge too far, longest day, battle of the bulge, aren't as graphic but based on True Story. The kid was great in the remake 3.10 to Yuma! One of the soldiers here is Clint Eastwood son, Scott Eastwood! Sad irony...what he told Emma, came true.😭😭 The reason they were mad at norman so long, is they knew he was still human, and young, and could be a human, if he gets home. They were already gone. Best job i ever had is, i love you guys. So I'll try to think of a list. Both true story, true type or spots, fiction and surreal. First medal of honor winner captured on video. Then Sgt York, Audie Murphy, Carlos Hathcock. Hamburger Hill, unbroken, 13 hours, zero dark thirty, Big Red one, thin Red line, rescue Dawn, Dirty Dozen and The great escape. Thats enough true type or True Story movies for now. Then u have full metal jacket, apocalypse now, the lieutenant, boys of company C, platoon, casualties of war, coming home , heaven and earth and the masterclass The Deer Hunter. Its a miracle we beat germany. They had better trained soldiers, rifles pistols, artillery tanks planes, everything. They ran put of men, and money and the international banks and stock sellers, cut their money off. If we had lost battle of the bulge, they would all have had ak style rifles, rockets , missiles, drones, jet planes, and even the atomic bomb. We had God on our side. But since the Clinton's and going forward...not any more. Their last stand is based on Audie Murphy!Don't stop watching these movies. Western countries and particularly America, haven't taught these things anymore in school, since the 80s. 99.9 percent of the time, u put a grenade against urself, u don't live. A fe medal of honor winners, have. But they are physically very messed up. The German kid at the end, doesn't kill Norman, he sees himself in norman. Also, this operation takes place in one day, which is why u see the white horse again!

Gladiator movies, including this one, does portray the gladiatorial fights in an incorrect way. Certainly for TV it is more dramatic and more at stake when its a fight to the death. However the gladiator fights were very rarely to the death. They were a lot more akin to modern wrestling matches where the purpose is to put on a show and entertainment moreso than cruel fight to the death. Of course, deaths could and would happen, as well as injuries, but that was not their primary purpose. All to say, a past gladiator who knew the sport and games would likely have no hesitation in starting his own gladiator school or crew if he had the money for it.

The gladiator fights in Roman times is like our football, NASCAR, or heck, who doesn't HONESTLY look when passing a car accident. We are human, born with sin. We are by nature, violent. I say this as a Christian with my Seminary degree in Biblical studies. If the Old testament were made into a movie, it would be NC-17 due to the violence. The band Tool sums it up well in the song Vicarious

The actor who played Proximo (the Gladiator trainer) was Oliver Reed. He was an extraordinary british actor, with a very interesting, fascinating and atypical life. He also was known for his alcoholism, having some scandals on TV and cinema as a consequence of this. During the filming of Gladiator in 1999, he sadly passed away. He had been sober for months, but one night (during a break from filming the movie) in an Irish pub in Malta (after a bet), he drank three bottles of Jamaican rum, eight bottles of German beer, numerous double whiskeys and challenged five young English sailors of the Royal Navy to arm-wrestling at The Pub bar (which after this incident was called Ollie's Last Pub). His bill, which was never paid, is preserved in a decorative frame in the bar.

At the end, the next priest tells the cop, the same thing Damian told the cop and in the same manner....I've seen it. Did he get possessed giving last rites to Damian?😮😮😮Hopefully this version u watched had the upside down crab crawl on the stairs, she does!! There's movies out of about 50 good horror movies, I never thought u would have the guts to do. I would put hereditary number 2 after this!! The descent, barbarian, hereditary, the exorcist, sinister ,hellraiser, the witch, the boy, Orphan, drag me to hell, the ring, the grudge, lights out(watch the 2 minute short first!😮)the woman in black, the Conjuring, insidious Annabelle La llarona, Nun movies... It's all part of the Conjuring universe. The first Halloween and Friday the 13th, The Omen, Hellraiser, first evil dead trilogy, smile, and I'll throw in 1982 The Thing, for the gore factor. But the exorcist, is THE horror movie all others are judged by!! Ironically, max was only 42 when he filmed this, he had trouble getting jobs after this because directors thought he was older! Linda did a masterpiece acting job here and should have got a lifetime Oscar. The director William Freidken kept the room at 40 degrees, fired pistols by the actors heads to scare them, and the green slime went into the young priest's mouth wasn't supposed to happen, that's why he looks so surprised! He was a cutting edge director! Max ironically not long before this, did maybe the greatest Jesus movie ever made, the greatest story ever told! He also did Conan, 3 DAYS of the Condor, minority report, and others! The moms back was permanently hurt in the scene where she's thrown down. Linda had to have round the clock security for about 8 months, because people were convinced she was possessed! She couldn't get much work after this either. The detective is a masterclass actor. Arthur Miller first saw him on stage, and said he wrote the play, death of a salesman, for him. He was in the acting masterpiece, 12 angry men! The voice actor is a woman who smoked cigs and drank whiskey every day of her life! She purposely went uncredited for this film! Orson Welles called her the greatest voice actor of all time! This movie, The Thing, Alien and Bladerunner, prove beyond a doubt, that practical effects a are way better than special effects, robotics, and CGI! This also tells u, never get a Ouija board! Somehow without explanation, part of the evil figurine and the Catholic pendant made it to DC. Where they were originally buried in Iraq, I'm sure the pendant was used to keep the demon inside the figurine. But when the Ouija board came out, it released the demon!! Type in here, news footage and stories of people leaving the theater from, The Exorcist 😮😮😮
