It was considered an Oscar bait. People saw the movie as another white savior complex trope movie, didn't help that Viggo said some unflavorful things, the story is embellished, not accurate to the book allegedly.

I just love how appreciative his wife is at the end for him „helping“ with the letters. She knew that those were her husbands feelings but his friend helped him putting them into the letter. Some people would have been upset but she saw the beauty behind it.
Such a short moment from a side character, and yet its one of my favorite moments in the movie.
… and that his wife is played by Linda Cardellini helps of course as well. 😅

42:05 he was in a Sundown town. It was a southern unofficial (and in some places official) policy that restricts the town or area after dark to black people. There are multiple cases throughout the Jim Crow era where blacks were lynched and murdered if caught out after dark. It’s one of many horrific things in an even more horrific time in this country’s history.

Nice job of reacting to "The Green Book". The ending still makes me tear up in quiet joy.
I grew up in Montreal, Canada. I was about 11 years old when we moved to the suburbs. My first good friend in my new school was a boy called Jeff Skoll. For three years, we were neighbours, classmates and best friends, until his family moved to Toronto in the late 70s.
At the end of this movie, you can read his name as one of the Producers -- his production company, Participant Media, put up much of the money to get this gem of a movie made. Jeff got his Masters degree in the U.S., where he made friends with the founder of eBay, and Jeff became the first President of that online community. He retired at age 35, with two billions in his pocket and still owning 15%.
Jeff then moved to L.A. to "tell stories". With a wish to make the world a better place, he produces politically motivated movies and documentaries, including "An Inconvenient Truth", a couple of films for George Clooney as director, "North Country" for Charlize Theron in political mode, and "Murderball", about quadriplegic basketball players who give everything to their game.
Jeff's movies have won numerous Academy Awards and he is now one of the world's biggest philanthropists and investors in family micro-businesses in many poor countries. I cannot express how proud I am to have once know such a good and capable person.

@@robertlombardo8437 Thanks for the question. In our country, foreign films are almost all dubbed in Italian, so it's difficult to give you an answer. However, I watched some English parts on UA-cam and indeed there are some expressions in Sicilian dialect, even though Frank Anthony "Lip" Vallelonga's family of origin was from Calabria, a region in southern Italy. I also read an interview with Viggo Mortensen in which he said that more than on the language, he focused on the typical gestures of us Italians without wanting to overdo it so as not to appear ridiculous and it must be said that he succeeded very well. 6:36 everyone has like a built-in reaction to excessive amounts of food, skinny or fat. Commonly, it would be us going “Oh, I’m so full, I’ve had enough so I’ll stop now”. That’s the brain and our stomach working together to tell us “stop”. But in truth, our stomachs can take in A LOT of food and liquid. It takes practice (or bad habit) to occasionally force down a lot of food in one sitting. Doing that sort of trains our stomach muscles to be more relaxed and accepting when lots of food comes down.
Source: Sometimes I eat enough food for two or three people in one sitting. And I’m a 5ft Asian just slightly above being underweight in the BMI.

Snugg bugg . I will bless you when you had a sneeze . 😂 . But this reaction looks so good i will watch this film tonight . I enjoy films like this as it you shows you how far the world has come on . Dont get me wrong it could do so much better . As there is still a real problem out there . If we see each other as real people with problems and feelings and we all hurt then the world would be a better place . In this day and age there is no need for racisim . If people would worry about there own lifes then we wouldnt have any issues . But the movie looks great . And as far i seen whilst seeing a youtube short with the jail part . The only person who has done a movie reaction to this is you so thank you . I always watch a reaction or trailer to see if i will like a movie as i need to be inspired first . I cant just click and watch one at random. I like movies like this and proper action ones , also like marvel , john wicks , and old classics like die hard collections , matrix,Arnie movies , predator series etc . Also the Ford vs ferrari . Not true to its original story but i thought the ford movie was good. I do enjoy a good movie from Ron howard too the old happy days star makes great movies . But thank you this 1 it was great . Nearly had me at the end when he turns up with the wine . And the huge smile i had when his mrs said thanks for helping him with the letters . 😂😂😂😂 ...

Governments are businesses that comply with company policy, not law. Policy can be purchased in the form of a Bill before Congress. Police policy is not law. Legal is not law. Courts are not law. Citizenship is not law. A US business is a US citizen. The business is a ship on the sea. A citizen is a crew member onboard the ship. Your legal name is a vessel called 'You'.

Strange times we’re living in, Robert F Kennedy Jr, is denied Secret Service protection as a candidate for the Presidency of the United States of America. Compliments of our president.
