You Won't Believe How Cool This Rustic Bathroom Vanity Is!
Just some YT advice. Don't post a video of an unfinished project. At the very least, wait until it's finished entirely and if you can, wait until you can also show the installation. People will get frustrated and won't watch your future videos if they think it's just going to be another video with an unfinished piece.
Always a great watch! Keep up the great work...
When using the Lamello to attach face frames, how do you layout the slots for the back of the face frames when you have a situation where the face frame doesn’t sit flush with the plywood carcass? Thx
What’s that piece at the end of your slider called that prevents tear out,The orange and black piece? I’d like to get one for my slider.
Kouros tools makes them. Check out his website
what is that other glue (not the yellow glue)?
"Not me, the camera was." Oh sure, blame the camera for not being focused! lol Great work as usual.
Hahaha 🤙
Before I say this, please don’t crucify me. I’ve been running my tablesaw for 18 years, at least, without a guard but more significant to my question, without a riving knife. It’s a grizzly and I’ve gone to their website to see about getting one to no avail. I can’t find one anywhere. Any recommendations on where I might find a premade one before I do a cardboard template and take it up to my buddies race shop and have him fabricate me one? PS, love your corner plates you use to keep your face frame and sides perfectly square during glue set up. That’s dope! 😉
I know there are some aftermarket riving knives out there. I would just google it and look around
I watched your inset cabinet video from a few months ago and posted the same question, but not sure you are still reviewing those comments...For these inset cabinets with face frame, is the face frame flush with the plywood inside of the cabinet? It is hard to tell from the video, but based on the hinges you are using, this is my best guess. if it is not flush and there is overlay, how much do you use?
I keep my boxes flush with the inside of the face frame

Spec on walnut ply? Did you like it
I really like your process for making Shaker style doors, oversized then cut down to finished size. I'm curious about the joinery though. I've used the same stub tenon/groove method, but have has some doors twist over time. Would it not be a safer/stronger option to use longer mortise/tenons or even dominos for the joinery to prevent that from happening? Love the info you're putting out there. Keep it up.
If the door is twisting I’m not sure that a bigger tenon would fix that
amazing piece, thinking of using biscuits now to do my face frames, unfortunately a Lamello is out of budget.
Great looking Vanity! Enjoyed the video very much
Glad you enjoyed!
Thank you for taking the time to make the content and explain your process. Learning a lot from you!
I'm glad you're finding it helpful!
I’m building my house and came across your channel researching for how I want to build my cabinets. I have a land clearing company and sawmill in NC and have a couple thousand quarter sawn white oak boards saved up for flooring for future projects, so I’ll be doing very similar to this since I already have it dry. I know you made a video on hardware, but do you mind putting the model of hinges and slides you use on each project in the description? That would help us that are trying to build similar vanities or cabinets. I also wouldn’t want your channel to get too commercialized, but I just bought $2000 in hinges and slides and if you had a deal worked with Blum I would probably have used your link to pay you back for the advice in the videos you post. Keep it up, you’re by far my favorite cabinet youtuber because you’re serious about your work
Nice build! Do you size your box to be the inner dimensions of your face frame? One side of the face frame is likely overhanging the box, right? Curious about your thought process for that. Cheers!
Yeah I make my boxes flush with the inside edge of the face frame
Great video as always! Any idea when the second van video is going to be?
Love watching yours and Jason’s videos👍
Thanks for watching
That is gorgeous. Just wondering what the cost of a beautiful custom vanity like that one is vs the clearly less pleasing, mass produced ones from box stores is. Obviously the workmanship and visual difference is huge, but like most things in remodeling, cost is everything.
Where do you get you sheet material? I also am in Central Oregon.
I've been using a pan head screw with a high/low thread. (Not a modified head) The head bites into the wood better. The high/ Low don't split the wood and works in hard or softwood
What brand are they? Thx
They come from Custom service hardware. There's a lot of screws
Where your doors and drawer fronts all 3/4” thick? Thx
Yes
@ Thx, and do you typically build your face frames first, then build your carcass box to fit like you did in this video?
Great craftsmanship! As for the customers request. . My OCD is not onboard with the door not in line with one of the drawers, but that is a me problem.
Hi, I see you answered a lot of questions, sorry if it was asked but looking at Graco's site, the 308 tip doesn't look available for the X5. I see they have a TrueAirless 309 and it seems to be the smallest orifice size in this line. If you had referral links, I'd follow them so you can get a cut. Cheers!
White oak is timeless.👍🏝️🇨🇦
One of my favorites
Resawing doesn't always create a cup. If you go slow enough to allow the gullets to evacuate the chips you should be able to get a perfectly flat resawn slab.
I find the thinner the resawn cut the more it will potatoe chip
The resaw tip is a good one, thanks!
It works great
Please keep the small detail explanations coming! I'm a new woodworker and need all the advice I can find. Let Jason know that I enjoy your channel more than his. :)
I’ll try to be as detailed as I can with these videos. Thanks for watching!
Great video! I build cabinets every day in my shop. It's awesome to see how every cabinet maker has their own ways to build. I would love to see your process on how you measure for your face frames. As you know, you have to be spot on with those measurements.
Great build sir. Think I might take that layout for the bottom of a gun cabinet I’m making. Would love to come work with you someday.
Looks great!
Thanks!
Slick design, really like the big bottom drawer. Makes that space more usable with the water works above.
Yeah for sure. I like it too
Your detail explanation On your video Is great....
Thanks, I'm glad you found it helpful!
I would love to see the dovetailing setup used for the drawer making.
Nice looking work
Thanks, I appreciate it!
Another awesome video. is that a flat-top dado stack you used to run the channels in the rails and stiles? I can't imagine you would get that nice tight fit with a regular dado stack?
Yes it is!
If I was the client I’d go with a Rubio Monocoat Mint White Pre-stain the chose a Cotton White Oil Plus 2C. Cheers from Chicago. Happy New Year Josh.
That would be a good choice!
Hey Josh. Curious if you allow more than 3/32 when you know you’re going to be painting an inset piece. What thickness if any do you allow for paint in order to still finish with a 3/32 reveal?
Paint grade I typically cut everything to have an 1/8” gap
@ thanks!
Very nice. I love your work flow especially for the inset doors. For the sake of your lungs please get proper dust collection.
I'm working on it! I'm trying to get a new dust collection system up soon.
Beautiful! Great work!
Thank you
This is quickly becoming my favorite youtube channel! Thanks for sharing your experience!
Glad you enjoy it!
I'll second that! my new favourite channel is @NE_woodworks
awesome build
Thanks!
Just curious but why not run the slot in the rail/stiles while they are long on the shaper, then cut them to length and do the tongues? Love the efficiency of your workflow and how amazing your work is. Saw Jason's latest and hope you got some of that lamello commission😊
Yeah with shaker doors you could do that. I’m just so used to coping first.
Beautiful!
Thanks, I appreciate it!
Wow!😂 very nice work I really enjoy watching your videos
Thanks, I appreciate you watching!
Nice
Glad you liked it!
stellar build. well done.
Great video-many thanks for letting us amateurs in on your process. For these inset cabinets with face frame, is the face frame flush with the plywood inside of the cabinet? Nice work again. Do you have a video/ close up of your Collins prep bit setup and fence on the handheld router. I made a similar setup on my Bosch, it took me a while to get correct, I love the results for the nosing. glue up
its a educational treat to watch master craftsman show their skill and talent. thank you for posting!
