As a Victorian, this makes my blood boil. NSW has a new airport in the middle of nowhere, built at God knows what cost, and a rail link. All done with federal funding. We have had an airport rail link in planning since 1958 and can’t get it built due to lack of funds.

What I like about this airport verses Mascot. Mascot from the train station to gate 37 international departure lounge is ever so long and tiring with luggage . The new airport appears to be a somewhat shorter walk, thank heaven .

My God I've not actually seen the progress of all off this but we lived around that area on a couple of acres about oh god I've actually forgotten but maybe between 16 to 20 years ago but wow this is incredible.

This is great, but I predict in 30 years with the growth of Sydney's population, that will constrain the growth of this airport, especially if there is a need to add an additional runway to to keep. up with the demands on this airport. This will push the need for another airport, connected with a high speed rail [>300kph] that would run to Canberra.

When I go back to the early BJD vids it's surprising to see just how and how far construction has progressed. Great job by BJD to record it all.

Runway's done, Terminal Exterior done . I think they should be testing the runway soon while they build the retail and lounge fit outs inside the terminal . IMO, they should start building the new cities and suburbs now to get ready for the Airport opening.

how do you get from the train station into the terminal

Speaking to Australian Border Security last Tuesday at Mascot, the nearest Border reaction team should they be needed are located at Richmond Airforce Base.

I guess when this airport and train system is up and running it may prove feasible for Australia Wonderland to be re invent as well as the Lion safari park maybe .2 great features that came long to soon. They are just 2 great things that I hope shall return for those future generations to enjoy thanks for the creation of this great airport. Thank you also for your great coverage.

Still can’t get over how small the terminal is and how few gates there are for what is major international airport. They must be planning a lot of off stand parking and boarding gates utilising busses. I think i counted only seven aerobridges. I realise there are expansion plans. However to start with it’s still tiny.

It doesn't matter how you view it - it's still just an airport in a Western sluburbs shithole.

So, Who’s gonna document the New Bunbury Outer Ring ROAD! They got a bit done but still more to go, I heard lillydale road is opening again (used to be, Centenery). Ps The highway, Bussell HWy is different and I see a new entrance into Dalyellup/ Dalyellup now has KFC, and Chicken TREAT!

It's such a sleepy town (the nicest way to say boring). The only fun people can have there is DUI

Geez what a badly planned airport. Could you get the train station any further back - hey it could have been placed in the next suburb! And 14 aerobridges - so I suppose all this money for something that won’t make a dent in the main Sydney airport issue. No international flights.
