It feels like yesterday that this was all just an endless, barren wasteland for as far as the eye could see in any direction

It is definitely taking shape, however what will the capacity be after stage 1, it appears there are only 14 spots for planes, just how many airlines will be using Western Sydney.
Same number of airbridges as Adelaide which serves almost 8 million passengers a yeas with around 14 passenger airlines and 3 cargo airlines. It will take some years to build up the numbers but would be nice to see them starting to grow rapidly and building more gates.
Looking at the International Terminal at Sydney Airport, I count 22 gates. As for Passenger Airlines, I have only heard of QANTAS and Jetstar (Qantas Group) signing up. The airport will be in 24hr operation, and I have seen capacity stated at 10 million passengers a year for Stage 1.
Will there be railway running to it?

how many should it fit. Stage 1 is sized for 10MPPA all 4 stages is 80MPPA
Opportunities for innovative design and new technologies lost. This is just a box with a Metro station that's not properly integrated.
They could have upgraded Canberra airport and put in a very fast train.

Bradfield as a name has significant history in Sydney with John Bradfield arguably being the most important person in the development of Sydney.
