      I left Sydney in 2012 and I was a truck driver for three decades. It was a nightmare to deliver furniture and large packages in the Sydney CBD area during the 1980s and 1990s. Many times idiots would park their cars in the Loading Zones. I now live in the Gold Coast area in Queensland and retired from the rat race.

    Good. I just hope they have designed in a connection point to High Speed Rail from Western Sydney Airport to the regions. While it's not going to get built any time soon, things could change, and in that case having a corridor ready to provide a connection towards Canberra to the south and northwards towards Newcastle and to the West would ensure direct access to the airport for the regions.

    Amazed to learn that the new Airport will be only 5 minutes by road closer (then Kingsford Smith) to those approaching via the Hume Motorway (Canberra, Queanbeyan, Goulburn etc.).

      Wow, didn’t realise I would need to spell this out. As the new airport is in far western Sydney (as pointed out by Australiana58), I would have thought that the driving time from any of the towns I listed (JohnNy), would be considerably less than driving all the way into Mascot (Australiana58). Open wide, here comes the aeroplane…🥣

    It would be interesting to put up a few vids about connecting to different parts of Sydney. E.g. could I do a train from here to the City direct? How long would it take compared to Domestic to Central? Will trains be frequent? How about a family visiting relatives and wanting to go to Bankstown? How would that work?

      "Pipelines transfer fuel received at our Gore Bay Terminal to the Clyde Terminal. Fuel products are then loaded into tankers at the Parramatta Terminal road gantry to be distributed across metropolitan and regional NSW, and jet fuel is transferred via pipeline to Kingsford Smith Airport at Mascot".
      Truck will deliver via M4, M7 and Elizabeth drive I imagine.

    Aal the orivate land near this publicly funded infrastructure has quadrupled in value. Tax that publicly generated value boost to private land to return the investment to the public. 1% land value tax pays for this in perpetuity and keeps it in PUBLIC OWNERSHIP

    • @ozsteamer2755
      @ozsteamer2755 11 місяців тому +1

      *There's supposed to be a second runway built at Western Sydney Airport as part of Stage 2 of the airport.*
      Given the... strange... way that the airport will receive fuel (via road tankers) I don't think there's gonna be enough fuel capacity to refuel planes if they do try to build that second runway. No, they cannot build a pipeline (the Greenies object) no, they cannot use rail (the metro does not allow the use of freight over those tracks).
      *_I dunno what they are going to do_* (run more road tankers, but there is a limit to that)

    • @dbltan
      @dbltan 11 місяців тому

      Thanks for the reply. T
      The cost of building the second runway in near future is going to cost heaps more, so it is better to build together now to save cost.@@ozsteamer2755
