Back in Spain doing a POV Street Photography Video! Running around with the Sigma 30MM F1.4 today - not my usual travel set up (Tamron 17-70MM F2.8) but it's a nice challenge to be 'stuck' with one focal length for the day. I feel like having to actively move yourself to find the right frame builds good habits as a photographer and pushes you to think a bit more outside the box. . All photos we...

How set F1.7? For me only 1.4, 1.6, 1.8
love the video ..jimmy , i was confused between sigma 18-50 and tamron 17-70 ....watching your videos i ended up with tamron 17-70 ..and i don't regret it ..... one question ..do you use any filters for this lens while shooting it in bright daylight ?
Nope! Not for photos, maybe sometimes a 12.5% most filter actually, VND for filming. But 90% of the time no filter
@@JimmyShixin amazing ...those are some sick post editing 🔥🔥 ..hope you can share some tips and tricks or editing tutorials/videos for us (specially those bright sunny landscape/Architecturs)🤩🤩
The photo of the Jewish guy walking out of the what-a-bargain had me so weak 😂🤦🏼♂️
Can you make please a edit tutorial? i love your vibe! 🙏🙏 realy liked those colors where amazing.😍
Thanks! I got some on my channel but also have my presets on my website if you want the quickest shortcut to my editing style!
Im in dilema between Tamron and Sigma. Tamron Pros are, focal lenght and VC, meanwhile Sigman Pros are cheaper and smaller and lighter. But i think, i go with Tamron, sometimes 50mm not long enough for me and i really need VC or OSS with my a6400 body
I’d personally agree with this!
great video, what do u say about the 6500 with a 17-70 tamron? is it still good or should i get the 6400. just for photography
6400 is basically better in everything vs the 6500, the only thing the 6400 does NOT have is stabilization. BUT - (double check this cause I’m not 100% sure) the tamron should be stabilized so for this specific combo it shouldn’t matter and 6400 is the better choice for you
do you think that the size/weight is over exaggerated on an APSC sony? camera?
What do you mean over exaggerated? In my experience APSC and most their lenses are much lighter which is why I like using it for travel photography
best video lens so far i watch not like other crap nonsense
Very beautiful and nice
16mm 1.4 or 30mm 1.4 on APSC for Landscape and Close ups? /: What would you chose?
Maybe 16 for close ups? I don’t think the 30 would work very well, though neither is a macro lens… you could get the 16 and pair it with those macro rings to allow you to take close up photos using the lens. But for landscapes and travel a zoom lens may be better in my opinion
@@JimmyShixin Yeah.. I wanna buy a Prime lens and then a zoom lens (Tamron 17-70mm), I think xD and i like close ups from flowers or so o: not macro like, a little Ant portrait :D just close ups from leaves, flowers.. and the "close up" from the sigma 16 or 30 is not too bad o: 25cm close distance But I think youre right.. 16 mm and when its too wide for some shots, I can crop a bit /:
This is very good, would love to see more Lightroom videos!
Might make more in future! But in meantime feel free to check out my Lightroom presets for editing shortcuts
why didn't you use the viewfinder to compose your shots while in the helicopter? having your arms pressed against your body would offer a lot more stabilization, plus you wouldn't have to worry about the screen glare
good point! I didn’t struggle that much with shakiness because I could use high shutter speeds during the day so didn’t need to worry about blurry shots that much - but mostly it’s because I actually never use the viewfinder. At first it was because using the screen was better for POV style videos for the viewers and over time I just got used to not using the EVF so I turned it off
I love Madeira, Great photos ! Can I ask you why you are not using lens hood ? Is it the size or something else ? I’m thinking about stop using it because of the size. Thank you !
To be completely honest it’s cause I’m lazy haha and I found them annoying / in the way when I put on ND filters or other filters when changing between filming and taking photos. For me I’ve only ever missed the lens hood when taking wide angle photos in super sunny weather - it prevents the lens flare, but mostly I’ve found that I don’t really need the hood
bro I just bought the exact same prime lenses as yours! But there're so many videos that suggest getting a zoom lens for travel. I'm really not sure whether to keep it or return them and get a sigma 18-50mm. Would really appreciate your advice on which one to go with.
I agree with the zoom for travel thing tbh - check out the tamron review video I made. I rly HATE changing lenses when travelling so mostly use my tamron 17-70 zoom If you do any night stuff or filming having the prime lenses is super useful. But for daytime photography it’s not as important in my opinion. You’ll just have slightly less blurry backgrounds
Nice 👍 I would also try Yongnuo 11mm f 1.8 for the ultra wide lens I'm currently using Sony ZV-E10 with Tamron 17-70 F2.8 & Sigma 30mm f1.4. So far I'm satisfied with the combination.
Clear and concise video! I like how you segmented it and divided it up into the price ranges. Though I already have my gear, I hadn't considered looking into multi-chargers at all yet, so I am definitely taking that tip and will start browsing for one soon! Thanks, Jimmy!
This was a great video! 1 thing I would add for videocentric work is sony 18-105 f4 if the body is not stabilized.
Thanks! That was actually the lens that came with my 6500 initially, I ended up selling it for the Tamron because I felt F4 was too high for the min. Aperture for bokeh / night shots But still, great zoom range and sharpness so def a lens to consider!
Thanks Jimmy, this is just the video I needed. Keep it up👍🏾
Thanks - Glad it was helpful!
Bro, sigma 30 or 56 which one should i choose for street & travel I can only get one.
Good Q - was acc thinking of making a vid on this. The 56 I prefer most of the time until I run out of space.. because it’s quite zoomed in sometimes you can’t back up enough to get everything in frame which is annoying Sigma 30mm provides a bit more context to your shots as well because there is less background compression - in the end it depends on what you prefer personally but these are points I’d consider (and price ofc)
Thanks
Awesome pic! Was it on tamron 17-70?
Thanks! Yes it was
It is the..best
Wow that was an amazing POV video!! I'm glad to see you haven't disappeared on us and we're hard at work on your Lightroom pack that is now nicely sitting on my Lightroom presets tab 😅. I loved how much more you put into this video with the flare and film damage traditions and how much the drone shots added to the cinematic feel. This was a joy to watch please keep them coming!!
Thank you Arun! Dw I didn’t go anywhere, works just been hectic & I was grinding out the presets haha, glad you liked this vid, more exciting stuff coming! (JP & China content)
tbh portability is the key for me. I travel a lot with just a backpack. Due to that I picked smallest sony body (zv-e10) and ultra duper super small and sharp zoom lens - sigma 18-50 f2.8. It is perfect travel companion.
let me goooo nowwwew
I think what you said about this not being Anti Full frame, but more Pro APSC hits the nail on the head!
❤ phone reflection and 2x exposure I will implement 😊
Your videos has helped me to decide to switch my Nikon D7100 + Nikon 18-200 to Sony a6700 + Tamron 17-70 😀
Good choice! Been wanting the 6700 too just waiting for the funds 😅
Was actually pondering not too long if I would try a FF camera next. One point I hadn't considered yet was the weight, which is important for me due to a past arm/hand injury, so thanks for pointing that out! The crop factor on the APSC is a big plus for me as well, so I think that's my mind set on which filters to enable when looking around for a new camera body in the future. Would also love to see what gear you would recommend for starters, I'd be curious to see! (Got the video notification this time, btw!)
Yea I've actually struggled to hold a FF camera set up with a single hand before which is never the case with my APSC camera Any suggestions on reasonable price ranges for the starter kit vid?
@@JimmyShixin I got my starter kit (Canon EOS M50 Mark II + 2 kit lenses) for 979 euros/837 GBP. I am very happy with it to this day still. I could have gone for the kit with just the one lens tho, since I purchased a second-hand 70-200mm f2.8 II lens shortly thereafter, which is still my default set-up for zoo photography. When browsing at the time, I considered kits from around the 600-1000 euro/513-855 GBP range. If *just* the camera body cost 1000 euros, I felt it was no longer starter and a bit out of my price range. Though, in hindsight, I kind of wish I had gone for something pricier as I've been wanting to do proper photography since I was a teen but I had also only been in my full-time job for only a year, so I didn't really have a reserve yet to spend on luxury/hobby stuff. Still tho, no regrets! I am happy with my body and I have since purchased lenses that I know will work on other camera bodies too should I decide to upgrade. Hope any of that helps!
Not trying to dismiss your points but you don't have/ues a FF camera, right? If not, what is even the point of the video? You're giving baseless opinions on something you haven't used personally, a.k.a, without getting your hands dirty before making comparisons. Do you see the logic not working here?
Yea very valid point - while I do not own a FF camera I've used them plenty of times when shooting with my photography mates. But yea, haven't had a FF camera for the long term though, hence the caveat at the start of the vid
I went from a Nikon D3300 to a Sony a6700 10 year difference of tech is wild.
based
I’ve got a Nikon z8 and a Fuji x100vi.. I don’t find a big difference in full frame vs crop.. besides it being annoying that lens names don’t match up.. the end result looks the same to me.
Quite the camera duo. How you liking the z8?
Would appreciate the video on what you would buy if your just starting out.👍🏾
True bro. I have change my D750 and D700 to Nikon Zf-c. Quite a relief for me
25:06 hold on a second...
Hell yeah, another travel vid! Absolutely gorgeous photos and drone shots. I am a sucker for those water/sea shots, they're so good! It was a bit hard to hear you over the music at times but otherwise, I was having a great time just chilling and watching the vid to end my weekend with 👌 As another side note that's probably just UA-cam's fault, I didn't get a notification for this video's upload! I assume it's just a one-time thing but I figured I'd let you know in case it happened for more people than just me and it might affect your video numbers. Looking forward to the next one!
Noted re: the music thanks for letting me know!! Oh interesting about the notif bell - check that it’s still turned on, I have heard of cases where it’s randomly turned off for people
@@JimmyShixin Looks turned on, but I just did the ol' turn it off & on again. Hopefully that'll do it!
14:55 the map hasnt fully loaded in yet
25:07 wtf is that a naked butt ????
Great POV as always! Really beautiful place btw music choice can be improved to attract new audience xD
Thank you! Lool any recommendations for music? Gotta be careful to not get copyright striked lol
@@JimmyShixin for some of those epic shots maybe try some anticipation kinda music and lofi for the pov side of things xD
@@officialabdulrehman true true, thanks for this!
Damn, a nice creative way 👍
I think the GoPro will bounce back if you remove the battery and the SD card and reinsert the battery after five seconds
yea the battery removal usually does the trick but when its that cold the battery can just lose its juice unless you have the extra weather resistant ones (£££) its still annoying having to do that though, especially when youre freezing your hands off 😅
Im new to photography and i got my sony a6600 and the tamron 70-300mm and the sigma 56mm beacuse of you, keep the good work up, love it🙌🤍
Omg amazing! Always happy to hear this - excellent selection of gear, hope you have a sick time with it!!
@@JimmyShixin thank you so much
Love these. Wish i had the balls to just do this myself
thanks! And just do it - honestly not that scary and a lot of fun :)
¡Nice photos!
How about the video aspect? How well does it do in videos?
equally versatile and convenient, BUT limited bokeh and low light performance because of F2.8 + APSC. if I want to take real nice cinematic footage I use my prime lenses + gimbal
I'm visiting Hamburg this summer and this video really helped! Thanks for sharing!
Enjoy! Make sure to eat some real Döner Kebab ;)
Personally for me, I liked some of the pre edits better.
get rid of the drink next time
If the rumors on the 16 pro max are true I cant wait to upgrade my 13.
What are these rumours saying? 👀
