Love the editing on this video once again, Jimmy! It feels very professional. This topic made me feel both nostalgic and old at the same time 😂 It's been fun to see the return of some retro methods of taking photos though! The nighttime photos especially took me by surprise, never knew digicams were capable of that! But then again, I was young, and what the hell was a shutter speed? Do you think you'll do more with retro cameras in the near or far future?
thank you! glad you liked the vid :) Yea I love using these digicams, smth about their aesthetic and the simplicity appeals to me, I prefer taking casual shots with them over my phone despite the quality difference. I think the fact each shot is just a bit more effort makes the value a bit higher for me? Idk but phone shots just don't hit the same haha
good video, thanks. surprised you didn't go into the digicams that have changeable lenses. comparing point and shoot digitals to non-point and shoot film cameras seems a bit unfare. all digital cameras from the least expensive to the most are, in my opinion, just as good as film cameras. but that's just me. i prefer digital due to costs. living in one of the most expensive cities in the world doesn't allow you too many luxuries like film photography. i have many types of digicams and a few types of small format printers (dye sub) and no one can tell that prints are not from film. next video should be an "apples for apples" comparison. thanks again.
It doesn't work for me. Before the hype I got a few compact cameras from thrift stores because I felt I wasn't having fun with my smartphone. Having a camera comfortable to hold with a zoom lens was very fun; but once I saw them in front of my computer the images looked bad, specially the crude noise reduction and too many megapixels without detail to justify them :/ only a few were good and although I shoot thousands of photos more than with film I deleted almost all of them. With film I like the rendering, it doesn't need editing, but it is now a luxury.
