So we already have our flights for August 10th 2024, we applied 1 week before my 12 month mark, I was also on unpaid maternity leave from August to November. I have 6 months pay check showing I am on pace to make the right amount needed for the year the first one will be short but still will make enough for the year. I am German and I am destitute as of know and desperate to join my longterm unmarried British fiancé in the UK but I am in no shape to pay 300€ to travel to Berlin to undergo the Selts test. It's too expensive but I do have German equivalent of a-levels and went trough German Abitur succsessfully having way more english knowledge than the average german. Does anyone have any advice?

It's interesting that I needed to go under Category B even though I'm employed for 3 years now. I needed to do this as I switched jobs 4 months ago and thus was asked to provide payslips for the previous 12 months. So Category A for salaried employment only applies if you are in the SAME job for the past 6 months. Else, you'll need to provide evidence of 12 months payslips. It was an unpleasant surprise for me so a heads up...
