Recorded 09/30/2024 at U-Pull-R-Parts in Rosemount, Minnesota. Ok, we've got a gem here. This 1992 Plymouth Grand Voyager LE has a lot of good (and some rare) options on it. The interior, albiet, needing a vacuum, is in very nice condition. Definitely pulling parts off of this one. Also apparently I've been had by the yard staff... lmao Thanks for watching!!

Recorded 09/13/2024 at U-Pull-R-Parts in East Bethel, Minnesota. This 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan LE is pretty clean, at least as far as rust goes. North Dakota vehicle, according to the dealer sticker. Highline interior in silver mist color. Under the hood, its got the 3.8L V6, and appears to be pretty low mile, although we could not verify that for certain. Thanks for watching! :)

Finally time to get Blue Van the 90' Dodge Grand Caravan LE out of its hibernation... and address a few immediate issues. In this episode, we locate and attempt to address an issue with one of the axles, as well as a power steering leak. This leads to an entire overhaul of the front suspension and steering... After Greenbean started making noise, I needed a winter driver. So I pulled the 05' Chrysler Town & Country out of hibernation... back in February. Since then we've put 3,000 miles on the odometer and fixed a few things along the way. Figured it would be a good time for an update! Thanks for watching :)

I purchased Greenbean, my 1997 Dodge Caravan LE, at Auction in November of 2022. I did a lot of work to make it roadworthy again and put 14k miles on the odometer. This is a video of the final walkaround as well as the story of Greenbean, since I had her. Unfortunately I did have to send Greenbean down the road in June 2024. But at least we saved the van from an untimely death at the scrap yard...

The cars themselves were built like tanks because they came stock with a diesel so they were built tough to handle it. They were one of the smoothest and quietest cars money could buy, and even still today few cars compare, these cars' only problem was the engines that GM had to offer, the v8s of that era were garbage but there was a rare AF option for a 4.1L buick v6!! , which was just a bored out buick 3.8L turbo block, it was not fast by any means BUT as everyone knows the Buick 3.8L v6 is one of the best "reliable" v6 engines EVER made, but very few cars ever had the v6 installed, it was a credit option. Still, everyone who bought the car was most likely rich so they wanted the "big v8s" and the v6 option was ONLY available in the 81 models and less than 2000 ever had the v6 engine from the factory :( Beautiful car, it's just it was made during the wrong era: /

You know , Amazon has sandblasters that attach to you power washer. They actually work quite well. Anything is fixable , what are your plans for the van ? Summer vehicle? Or just driving it all year ?
@462ANIMAL it's not going to see winter or road salt as long as i have it. Sandblasting makes such a mess, I can't imagine what adding water will do especially in a gravel driveway lol. If I had a concrete pad maybe. But I prefer a grinding wheel anyway.
@@MNMoparMinivan yes , would indeed make a mess.. or wire brush and wire wheels on a grinder.. then pour 15 paint maybe.. no need to cap off your brake line, just push your brake pedal to the floor once the lines are off and keep the pedal down with a piece of wood or a snow brush.. and disconnect your battery.
@462ANIMAL oh I see what you're saying. Underbody is already done as of now haha. I just don't like to leak brake fluid everywhere if I can help it. I have some fittings with caps on I just hooked into the prop valve. No need to hold the pedal or anything.

Glad you got it running again easily , and the breakdown was somewhere safe for you to pull off the road . My go to , for cheap cleaner is Awesome cleaner from the dollar store ! For the price it actually works decently .

Man I hate liquid foam when they put it into vehicles like my sister has a newer vehicle I think it's like a 2006 Dodge Charger so all the wheel wells are brought it out why because the company sprayed liquid foam over all the seams on the inside probably to make it a little bit quiet but in the long run it holds moisture and your vehicle rocks out so if you could help it try not to use that stuff again on that car unless you just don't plan on using it in the snow or rain
@4x4rcoff-roadtractors54 i didn't put the foam in it. Chrysler did it from the factory on a lot of these vans to minimize road noise and seal up the rockers into the wheel arches... like you said holds moisture and rots out the dog legs. That being said, this was done when the van was "restored" back in the early 2000s. I'm not mad because it kept the van on the road long enough that I got ahold of it. It's getting some real metal put back in this time.

JEEZ I just looked up high mileage 3rd gens and someone(well the post is august of this year) but someone has 388,920 miles on their 2005.(i know it's a 4th gen.) This is without a engine rebuild guess your not kidding these older caravans are reliable and the 05 has the white faced cluster which is the original cluster. Just thought i would let you know about this high mileage hero van.

Scores on the windshield! My 94 was nearly identical! Mine did not have the cd player part and was dark grey instead of red outside. 3.8L under the hood.
That's really angers me why don't they post these on Facebook or something? They're worth much more just sell the whole vehicle they're getting less and less available!

Im sure ill find an infinity cassette deck one of these days... but iof you come across any others you should hit me up haha. 1st and 2nd gens have totally vanished in my neck of the woods. Rust belt on the east coast of canada.. there are non in junk yards around here. The alloys on this van you filmed are also deadly.. i would so rock them!

@@MNMoparMinivan thanks! it was owned by parents of a friend of mine. i've been waiting almost 12 years for them to finally sell it to me... got the call a couple weeks ago and have been riding that high since lol. I scooped a radio from an 89 Caravan last week off marketplace (no other useable parts that i needed.. grey interior, blue exterior) it works better than the one that was in my van when i got it .. but i'd like to find a better one. From what i can see online 86-01 radios are interchangeable so thats pretty neat.. lots of options.
@cameronlovesevolve yes that's my favorite thing about caravan radio systems as junk as the head units can be sometimes they're plug and play for like literally everything. Does t have to be out of a caravan either.. Lebanon, New yorker, etc should all work too
