Afternoon I like your bothers new van love the paint wheels little cleaning new bumper I didn’t hear any noise no rust very nice van with that many miles looks good thanks for the video
In 2020 I bought a 225k mile ‘13 SE plus for $1,900. Mine was a fully loaded SE, with Bluetooth, power windows, rear hvac, and HD suspension. Looks like this one’s an AVP, no rear air, power rear windows, and no privacy glass. I sold mine at 255k for $2k. Biggest regret. Had so much life left in her. I strongly recommend a fluid and filter change. These transmissions aren’t known to be the best. But as you know fluid and a filter can go a long way. I decided to have the dealer do the service. Was about $300. But worth not guessing how much to fill it as there’s no dipstick. They’re peppy vans. I posted a few 0-60’s and a 0-100. I’ve never driven one before I bought my 5th gen. I was impressed. Way more power. Few things they’re known for: Plastic Heater core hoses explode. Pretty cheap and easy to do. Dorman makes an aluminum “upgrade”. I did mine in a bank parking lot when they blew out. About an hr. Transmission cooler lines leak at the crimp. It was $180 at a shop to fix em. Make sure they seat properly or you’ll risk having them pop off and possibly damaging the transmission. Ask me how I know.. mine left me stranded. TIPM fails due to corrosion. Simple fix with a vertical visions bypass. You can get a jumper wire, but it will cause the fuel pump to run while accessory is on. Vertical visions is only when in the run position if I’m not mistaken. Dog legs/rear fenders usually rot out first, in my opinion. Worth fluid filling these areas!
2015 Chrysler Town & Country owner here. Love it. I can't think of a vehicle that is more comfortable and useful. Other than having some fuel injectors being replaced and usual wear items, it has been perfectly reliable.
@@MNMoparMinivan I have 6 of their albums. Wish You Were Here 1975 The Dark Side of the Moon 1973 The Wall 1979 (Disc 1) "The one with the song" The Wall 1979 (Disc 2) Meddle 1971 Animals 1977
We have several of this gen van at work, nice vehicle to drive. The dog legs on most of them are starting to rot, so that seems to be the place to watch. 3.6 seems to be pretty durable, but the plastic oil filter housing always cracks and leaks, Dorman makes a metal replacement which is much higher quality. Most of the cam issues come from lack of maintenance, but as nice as that seems to run at 250k, it must have been taken care of. I think those are wheels from a later van, that trim would have come with steelies and covers. I think the black paint on those vans is metallic, very pretty in the sunlight.
@98-SR5 yes it is a black metallic. Very nice paint color! Yeah this one was properly kept up its whole life. Dog legs have always been a caravan issue haha. it's the spray foam they put in them from factory for sound deadening. Holds moisture...
Nice 5th gen! I have a 2016 that looks the same. The transmissions are the weakest link. I think the higher power output of the Pentastar can be hard on them. Other than the rocker arms on 2015 and earlier, and the oil filter housing/cooler leaks, they are excellent vehicles.
@@waterloo123100 who would have thought! Same reason why the old 41tes get a lot of hate. People don't service them and then point fingers when the trans grenades
@@MNMoparMinivanI know the early gens had a big problem with the diff pin falling out and ruining the case. But overall if you take care of them their a great transmission. I know a guy that has almost 600k on it all original he just keeps servicing it. The 62te is a lot better in my opinion
This van I believe for a 2014 has no options and those wheels were put on after the fact The overhead console has the power door and tailgate controls and that’s about it And in terms of power the 3.6 has around 280 hp and is definitely way quicker than a 4 gen 3.3 or 3.8 for sure
@markryl-kuchar2373 i know enough about the van that they were on it since new. Maybe swapped on as a dealer option prior to delivery. Fleet ordered van of some variety. Wanted it to look nice but also not spend big dollars on options.

Thank for your help
@dandahl333 well it's probably worth 2k maybe 2.5k fixed. (Don't quote me on that, id have to look up what they go for on Marketplace.) Upull will probably give you $400. If it runs and drives with a clean title it's probably worth 1k as it sits. But you'd have to deal with selling on marketplace. Depends how much you want to bother with it really.
At work we refer to the 3.6L Pentastar found in these as "the boat anchor" because the oil cooler housing is made of plastic and sits in the V valley of the engine so it warps/melts and dumps all the oil/coolant out of the motor. I've changed probably 100 of these motors over the last few years due to that so make sure to keep a very close eye on that part. I share your opinion of liking the older vans, they were cooler in my opinion. Also DO NOT press the ECON button on the center console, there's a factory error with those that jumbles up the ratios for the transmission and it has a habit of grenading the trans if left in econ mode. I much prefer the previous motor they used in these but as long as you take care of these they will last
That 5th gen is nice! The old ones are best but for a new one that is good. One of my relatives had a pacifica van that I used quite a lot, and it drove really really nice, but it had the nasty 10 speed transmission, sometimes it would clunk into gear really hard. The touch screen was awful, you could not turn the radio off and muting it was annoying because it would just unmute on its own, the only way to not have some thing playing was to set it to aux with nothing plugged in. It didn't even have a CD player even though it was a upper mid trim. All that completely ruined it for me, pacifica is not recommended. Seems that the 5th gens are much better than the pacifica.
@@unitedcity_mc4421 Fair, I can absolutely see that. I am not a huge fan of the 5th gen body style either. Personally the 1st - 3rd gens are my favorite and the 4th gens are decent.
