My father was from down town he did some boxing he new your father very well always talked very highly of him an his brother after that we moved to the bronx He always said Tommy Ryan was a mans man
Great interview. I would like to ask Xavier about his older brothers in Chicago Louie and Tommy as I knew the Ariola family. There was a Chicago Tribune article saying Louie threatened Carlo Gambino after the murder of his father and it became a major issue that Tony Accardo of Chicago interceded in. Curios if Xavier has background there and any stories from Chicago - I will be buying the book!
@@SaverioEboli "A crime figure in his own right, Eboli never achieved the stature of his father, Thomas Eboli, a New York City Mafia powerhouse who was shot down on a Brooklyn street in 1972 at the age of 62. When word of the shooting reached Louis Eboli, investigators said he vowed to fellow mobsters to go to New York and avenge his father`s murder, but was restrained by Chicago syndicate boss Anthony Accardo. Accardo acted as two New York gunmen, bent on protecting the killers, arrived in Chicago to check out the son`s boast and kill him, too, if necessary, according to Jerry Gladden, chief investigator of the Chicago Crime Commission. Gladden said police and FBI intelligence indicated that Accardo regarded the killing as a legitimate purging and saw any attempt at revenge as foolhardy and dangerous to the always-fragile relations between mobsters in the two cities. To make sure his decision was obeyed, Accardo in effect ordered Louis Eboli placed under house arrest, Gladden said."

I don’t know if it was Gambino who he was threatening, but he wanted to go back to New York and avenge his father and Joe B told him it can’t be done..
What happened to this guy at the end has always been one of the most interesting mob mysteries. Everyone says it ways Carlo Gambino himself due to some loan between them gone wrong. However, this was one of the top people in another (at least as or maybe more powerful) family. Difficult to understand how this makes sense.
I personally believe that Vito Genovese grew jealous of the power Tommy Ryan quickly got, when Vito was locked up and Ryan was the acting boss. During his last few years Vito became very insecure and was always sending out orders to have his guys killed. It resulted in everything from Apalachin to Valachi feeling he had no option but to turn informant. I've read all the theories that Carlo Gambino was the genius puppet master, pulling all the strings, but I think it was more about Genovese losing the plot.
Was it true that Tommy Eboli occasionally would visit Luciano in Italy to give him money from the family? That’s what was said in Luciano’s book, Last testament. Which is controversial.
Yes, I've seen photos of Patsy Eboli and Lucky Luciano together in Naples. They got along. Did Tommy Eboli get along with Vito Genovese? There was a rivalry between Vito Genovese and Lucky Luciano

Carlo Gambino view Eboli as A threat.....the loan was just a fake reason to Assassinate him

He had RFK down, well done
One and more feds sitting behind Valachi as he testified about the ritual , and they thought he was making it up
good imitation actually!
He got hit outside his girlfriend’s place…. She was my Uncle’s first wife’s sister….
Did you know your half brother Louie?
Of course I knew him!
Xavier writes about Louie and Tommy in the book
Solid RFK impersonation
Does Xavier have a theory why his father was assassinated?
I do but it’s not for publication.
@@SaverioEboli respect
Maybe this has been asked in the past. What type of relationship did he have with Louie Eboli of Chicago?
Very good. He talks about Louie in the book
He had a good relationship with both Louie and Tom Jr

I think it was “Patsy” Eboli, who had very good relationship with Lucky sent him envelopes. Patsy also attended Lucky’s funeral.
@ yeah I think you’re right. But I think Tommy also went a few times to see lucky in Italy.
