Unfortunately you are not alone. I have done a bit of research and it appears that it might be some sort of bug causing the issue. Other people have had the same problem and at least some of them were able to resolve the problem by resetting the Photoshop Preferences. I have pasted a post from the Adobe Photoshop forum below that might help you resolve the issue. Resetting preferences helps with a multitude of isues, here's some more info about that for anyone contemplating it: Resetting Photoshop preferences (read this entire post before acting please) Resetting restores Photoshop's internal preferences, which are saved when Photoshop closes. If they become corrupt then various issues can occur. Here’s some info on how to do that: helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html Manually removing preferences files is the most complete method for restoring Photoshop to its default state: helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#Manually Note re macOS: The user Library folder is hidden by default. To access files in the hidden user Library folder, see here for how to access hidden user library files. helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/access-hidden-user-library-files.html Unexpected behavior may indicate damaged preferences. You may want to backup your settings and custom presets, brushes & actions before restoring Photoshop's preferences. Here is general info about that: helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#BackupPhotoshoppreferences Before you reset your preferences in case of future issues, I suggest you make a copy as Adobe may need one to check problematic references. Quit Photoshop. Go to Photoshop's Preferences folder Preferences file locations: helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/preference-file-names-locations-photoshop.html\ [on MacOS see: Users/[user name]/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop [version] Settings Note for those on macOS: - be aware that the user Library folder is hidden by default on macOS. helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/access-hidden-user-library-files.html In the Finder, open the “Go” menu whilst holding down the Option (Alt) key. Library will now appear in the list - below the current user's “home” directory. ] Now you can drag the entire Adobe Photoshop [Version] Settings folder to the desktop or somewhere safe as a back-up of your settings. Note for those on macOS: Preference preservation is affected by macOS permissions, you’ll need to allow Photoshop ‘Full Disk Access’ in your Mac OS Preferences/Security and Privacy It may even be time to reinstall Photoshop. It’s recommended that you use the Adobe CC cleaner tool to remove all traces first. (See above about preserving preferences though! Its worth preserving them unless they are corrupted.) helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html Uninstall Photoshop BUT make sure to choose the option “Yes, remove app preference”. Once that process finishes, start the installation process and look into the “Advanced Options”. Uncheck “Import previous settings and preferences” and choose to “Remove old versions”.

Your welcome!
Easy and to the point. Thank you so much
Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for commenting
great video! Thank you. But is it just me or do we not have the 'editing options' 14:00 dialog box anymore in 2024? It just opens in Photoshop as the original lightroom file. Is there a way to bring back the options dialog box? Also notice it says 'Refresh Folder' instead of 'sync folder' now. And it doesn't bring up the dialog box it did in the video showing any files that aren't sync'd. That's a shame because having that box is really helpful. Any thoughts, please?
Hi, are you sure you're opening a file that has been edited in Photoshop and saved with layers? This dialog box only appears when you're heading back to Photoshop, you will not see it if the file has not been edited in Photoshop before. The dialog box is still part of the latest version of LRC. If you do not see it, you are either experiencing a bug or you are doing something wrong such as trying to open a file that has not previous been edited in PS. To start i might try to restart your computer and see if that fixes the issue. Hope this helps.
@@naturemikephoto thanks for the reply .. let me try everything tomorrow morning! Yes… I’m sure I’m doing it wrong.. will keep you posted ..
Also, I just checked on my version of LRC 13.3 and when I right click / control click on the folder it still says synchronize folder. Are you using a PC by any chance? Some times there are slight nuances between mac and pc working in the software but as far as I knew, the PC version also said "Synchronize Folder." Lastly, make sure you are using LRC and not LR
@@naturemikephoto lol.. sorry! I am using LR.. .. downloading LRC now.. Thanks for that .. imagine us going on for years and years trying to figure this out.. lol
That explains it. Glad to help
Did they fix the ability for one to zoom in while in Crop mode?
I’m not sure about that one. I’m currently traveling and cannot check. I suggest submitting the issue on the LRC bug/feature request forum
Hi, I am using Lightroom classic 13.3 and I am missing profiles and camera matching. When I click on profiles and browsing, I only have basic, artistic, black-and-white, modern and vintage. Do you know how I can access camera matching and profiles like landscape and portrait? Thank you so much.
This is the first time I’ve heard of this happening. It is most likely a bug causing the issue. What camera do you use? Unfortunately, the only way to get them back will most likely be to revert to an older version. I suggest trying 13.1 since that upgrade required a catalog update. If you know what photos already have the profiles applied to them in your catalog, you could try syncing those settings with the new photos and see if that works while you wait for the next update. It’s a pain I know. I suggest reporting to Adobe on the Adobe Photoshop LRC bug report forum.
Thank you sir for the video i'm really appreciate it
Thanks for watching and commenting!!!
Handy tip, good shout, cheers
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching and commenting
Over the past few weeks, Adobe repeatedly invites me to upgrade to 13.3.1. I have upgraded to 13.3 not long ago and it required a new catalog creation. Since my catalog is 64K files, it has made previewing various searches much slower. Is there actually a 13.3.1 and would it possibly require another catalog?
Yes, there is a 13.3.1. That was the original 13.3 release and the one that would have required you to upgrade your catalog. The most current version is LRC 13.3.4. You might try to upgrade to that one to se if it helps with the catalog. You will not need to rebuild the catalog during the upgrade. Alternatively, you could try downgrading to 13.3.1 but I would try 13.3.4 first.
Thanks for the video as it's simple and to the point. I have used this with Lightroom 6 on a Windows 11 PC and it works very well. I have watched so many videos over the years about Lightroom, and they spend too much time on the intro and what they are trying to achieve, where as yours was quick and to the point. Thanks again
Thanks for commenting. Yeah, I hate she. I’m trying to figure out how to do a simple thing such as change a camera setting in a camera that is not mine and I have to watch a twelve minute video just to get to the point that should have taken less than a minute.
Hi Mike , I was able to import the catalog, but the thing is i can't use the denoise option on the lightroom where i imported it, Is there a mistake on how i import the catalog that i exported on my other pc?
Hi Franzzz, the Denoise should work. I’m assuming that you are talking about the AI denoise? Just do you know that csn only be applied to Raw photos and cannot be applied to images that have already been denoised or had other special enhancements such as Raw details or super resolution. Have you tried restarting LRC? Also make sure that you are using the most current version of LRC
@@naturemikephoto I'll try it again later. So if I don't have the latest LRC version , the ai denoise won't work?
That feature is relatively new, so using an older version could certainly cause it to be unavailable.
@@naturemikephoto im using 13.2 on the pc without GPU while the other is 13 would that cause an issue?
Honestly, I’m not sure. It found also be some sort of bug.
why did you create an extra LR Photos Folder and did not use the LR Catalogue folder that you made first?
Hi, great question. I i’d like to keep the catalog folder solely for catalog related items such as the catalog and smart previews and things like that. That’s why I create the photos folder and that’s where I store all the photos and you could put that photos folder into the catalog folder if you wish. It certainly won’t hurt anything it’s just a matter of preference.
@@naturemikephoto thank you for the clarification!
Anyone using PC instead of Mac, the toolbar at the top is quite different. You are going to want to go to Layer and scroll down and click Rasterize.
Thanks for sharing this.
Perhaps you can answer this question. Social media venues by Meta are now tagging images with "Made With AI". People are discovering, even when using the removal tools with generative AI to remove simple things like leaves in the hair, or weeds in front of the subject - the images are being tagged, "Made with AI." If you do a sky replacement in Photoshop, it's tagged. Use generative fill in Photoshop. It's tagged Made with AI. Have you tested what happens to an image using the generative AI healing tools in Lightroom once posted to Instagram?
Your video only works for apple computers
Thanks for the heads up, I’ll look into this.
Well done. Clear and concise, paced well, and the information understandable is🙂 very good.
Thanks Doug!
👍
Thanks!

would be better if LR could handle highlights... instead of supermagictools
I can't get lightroom classic to open after update
What operating system are you using? You might try to update your OS and see if that helps. Otherwise I suggest downgrading to the older version and repot the bug to Adobe on the LRC bug report forum.
I need bug fix because start crashing all time windows 10
Sorry to hear that. I recommend reporting the issue on Adobe’s bug report forum
It is a great improvement but a long ways still from eliminating the need to use Photoshop to remove objects. They are headed in the right direction.
I think it depends on the size of the object you’re trying to remove. Yes, large objects will still most likely need some cloning.
I have downloaded this new version, but I don't have the Generative AI feature. Do you know why?
You are the first person that I have heard say that. Are you positive that you are using version 13.3?
@@naturemikephoto Yes, pretty sure. But I just don’t have that AI feature.
Hmm. That seems very stance to me. Maybe contact Adobe
These upgrades will be a big help and produce better results.
Absolutely
Apple Silicon M1 Pro user here…. I cried when I heard the news. YESSS
Yeah, it’s a huge time saver. Some folks seem to be having trouble with it but I have found it em to work much better than previous methods of removing objects
I agree also, I don’t see what the folks are crying about. It works fine and will only get better over time. Nice improvement.
My guy do you have other yt channels? Your voice sounds soooooo familiar
Not that I know of, ha ha!
The remove tool is still complete hot garbage. I can't understand why they don't copy paste the damn tools from photoshop
The most useless and frustrating tool ever. Might as well not have it there
I curse it out loud … lol
Dog shit.
I have the same thought, both Lightroom and Photoshop are Adobe, why doesn't it work the same way this freakin' tool ? Are there really separate teams and engineers working on this? Then I know which team's winning here :-D
Possibly because the remove tools in Photoshop are destructive to the image while Lightroom does nothing to the pixels in the original image.
I just wonder why the remove and heal tools don’t work as great as in photoshop in the first place
In theory the generative remove tool should act the same as generative fill but I have not done extensive testing clothe two
Now you need one len and rest lens you "edit" w LRC :D
I don’t know if I’d go that far. personally I’m not a huge fan of ai but it definitely makes removing objects easier.
great update!! great vid. thank you!
Thanks for commenting! Glad you enjoyed it.
Very good video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I would love the new feature of it running smoothly.
Haha! Yeah, that might be too big of an ask.
Premiere, their video editing software runs smoother and more efficiently than Lightroom 😂
I was so stoked for these feature buuuut 13.3 totally jacked up my app. Flagging/rejecting a photo takes minutes. It just doesn’t nothing. Undo takes 30-120 second or does nothing. Like losing the app takes 5+ minutes and it hangs. I’ve been using Lightroom since 2008 and I’ve never seen anything like this. macOS m1 MBP
Sorry to hear about your troubles. It euros fine on my m3 and intel based Macs. You might want to downgrade until the next update and in the meantime let Adobe know on the lr bug report forum
Does it works on jack sparrow's version?
Wait, you can still get pirated LRC? That’s crazy. I had no idea. If it’s current, I would guess so, if not, then definitely no.
The Ai remove tool is the most interesting one. Lightroom needs to allow us to control targeted colors when utilizing the mask. Right now the only option is the eye dropper color which is not the same.
That would be a good addition
@gaston are you saying that you want the ai remove tool to be able to target specific colours?
Fantastic!
Thanks for the comment
These are cool and brilliantly explained and clearly demonstrated. Thank you. I like to use Len's Corrections in an early part of my editing. However, there are so few Canon lenses available in the drop down. Is it possible to add to the list of lenses.
Thanks, unfortunately there is no way to add to the lens selection but you could go onto adobe’s LR forum snd request a specific lens. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.
Ok thank you . I'll try that
Absolutely incredible. “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic” -- Arthur C Clarke
Thumbs up if you would like Adobe to make the ACR (person....) masks exportable to Photoshop or making those same masking options available in Photoshop.
Not a bad idea, I like it.
How do I simple import all photos with filters into a new catalog? The old catalog seems to be corrupted but I can still see everything. I simply want to bring everything the same as it was in the old catalog into the fresh new empty catalog. Its that possible and how would you do that? Can I just select them as hey show on the left hand of the screen and drag and drop?
I would suggest putting all of the photos into a parent folder or collection and then expiry that as a catalog. Since you want to start fresh, you would not need to move the photos after exporting as catalog. You could simply open up the newly exported catalog and start working from there. I’m not sure what the ramifications of dragging and stopping are do I would not recommend that. Once you get everything sorted I highly recommended watching my video on backing up. ua-cam.com/video/zEr-7alId4U/v-deo.html
how do i set up filtering for exported pics?
Hello, you do not need to set anything up. All you need to do is upgrade to the newest version of Lightroom and the option will be there to filter exported or non-exported photos.
Thank you very much
No problem, thanks for commenting.
I guess generative AI works with adobe online servers?
Yes, you will need to be connected to the internet just like generative fill in Photoshop. The generative ai utilizes Adobe Firefly.
Great explanation! Thanks!
Thanks for the comment. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Thanks for the video tutorial. Definitely a useful feature that I was unwares of. Paul
Glad you enjoyed the video. I think snapshot are one of the most useful features in LR
I'm struggling to get my Sony a7iv connected to tether with the upgrade of LrC. I can connect with Imaging edge and capture one no problem, but Lightroom just isn't finding my camera!
Did you make sure to update to the latest version of LRC? I’m not a Sony shooter so I was not able to do any testing on the new feature. You might want to report the issue on the LRC forum
@@naturemikephoto Yep, latest version of LrC and latest firmware on my a7iv
Sounds like a bug then. Adobe is pretty notorious for bugs. I’d report the issue using the bug report forum on their website.
I am on the latest version firmware on my A7iv and it works with the new LR
