I am Kaya and this is my second channel where I translate Japanese songs that I personally like and want to share.
I feel most at home in metal and rock, but I also like softer genres so hopefully this channel will have a wide variety of songs to enjoy.
As my main project I translate DIR EN GREY and sukekiyo songs and while I try to upload frequently on my main channel, uploads on this channel might be more sporadic.

the GazettE - 紅蓮 [eng sub] LIVE HD
Here is "Guren", meaning "crimson lotus". The performance is taken from the GazettE's Tour 2007-2008 Stacked Rubbish Grand Finale [Repeated Countless Error].
I'm sorry that this one took so long. I have quite a few things on my plate at the moment and I went over this translation and improved things many times. Hope it was worth the wait! It's a beautiful and heart-wrenching song that I find myself coming back to every now and then, even after all those years.

Annotations:
"You don't need to know the pain that comes there" - Literally it says "[...] that falls there", like rain would fall, but this verb can also be used as an expression to talk about things arriving, or emotions like sadness visiting.
"Trembling in rest" - What gets a bit lost here is the nuance of "trembling" being something that's experienced, like a feeling (the verb used is 覚える).
"Don't fade away, my love" - Literally just "you", but in this way it is used to be very affectionate, hence my translation as "my love" in this context.
"Those days we indulged in that won't continue" - Just be aware that this took a bit of interpretation, and it's how I personally understand this line.

I discovered this song a while ago on Spotify and really took a liking to it. The title, "Lilac no hakuchūmu", translates to "Lilac daydream". That last repeat of the chorus with those variations on the acoustic guitar arpeggios is what makes this version of the song my favourite. So unbelievably beautiful and melancholic.
