The fridge is made by the AI, the kitchen is designed by the artist. AI can already create the model and the textures of the fridge a tedious and time consuming process for a human, that costs a lot of money and time.. Haven't we been talking about the rising cost of video games recently? AI frees up the artist to put more effort it the actual layout of the kitchen and the narrative context, thus improving the overall quality of the game. Ideally. Isn't that what we all want? Better games? The soul always comes from the context, not the asset. I am using AI for years now in my field of VFX for TV and Film and I can assure you it expands possibilities significantly. I can do things much quicker in many areas. But none of them have to do with the actual narration. But it expands the narrative possibilities because things become suddenly affordable that were too expensive before. The soul of anything always comes from the person creating it. You can make a completely soulless game with completely handcrafted assets. Or you can create something amazing, inspiring and soulful by using AI created assets and AI assistance because you have so much more time and budget to focus on the important things.... And as always: The potential problems with any tech come from the humans (souls) who use or abuse it.

Guarantee you GTA’s NPC system won’t be as advanced as kcd2 - also worried about the mission design of GTA probably no interaction. No choices and consequences will just be effectively watching cut scenes

There are pretty obvious examples of devs "uglying up" women in their games, I dont think this is one of them.

This is the real GOTY but GTA 6 just can't lose. So yeah, that sucks but GTA 6 is probably going to be a great game too.

You also forget that indiana jones came out last year after the game awards list. so that game should be up for GOTY at this years game awards too. I don't care how good KCD comes out. I didn't even like the first one. the whole realistic approach to sim life with eating and drinking and sleeping + the combat was shit too. it was more along the longs of that Ubisoft game right? for honor? hated that game too because of the combat. EVEN if KCD2 comes out and is amazing. and I played it and thought it was okay. it still wouldn't make my top 5. People tend to forget about indie games. I'm looking forward to Nivalis the cyberpunk life sim and Inzoi the sim killer. also we got yakuza pirates and monster hunter wilds, plus ac shadows though i don't think any ac game has ever done GOTY? but I'd still rather play any of those games and like those over kcd2.

GOTY battle will be between KCD2 and GTA6, i personally think Rockstar kinda is tapering off in terms of quality, but they are still a very large studio. GTA6 will still be top tier game unless they fucked up bigtime and somehow kept quiet about it all these years, KCD2 definately is going to be a great game. I'd give 40%-60% chance for KCD2-GTA6. Either way, there is no other game ive seen thats gonna come close. Its a barren year unfortunately.

I think it’s silly to not acknowledge how much of a departure RDR2 was in tone and pace from GTA V, although I am biased because RDR2 is my favorite game of all time

I would Agrue RDR2 took more risks then God of war. It went in much of a simulator direction, then RDR1 it also has a much more slower paced open world and alot more realism, Some people still talk about either loving or disliking. RDR2 still feels like Red dead redemption but also feels very differnt at the same time. It's also a differnt type of western then RDR1 which is more a spaghetti Western were as RDR2 is more in line with likes of Unforgiven and hateful but also takes alot more inspiration from real world history and really tries to capture the time peroid.
