all those games are still banned in most countries, they need to fix that.
Exactly!
How? You expect Sony to kick down the doors of these countries leaders and be like "Listen here, bub!"
There's not much they can do about that.
@@MrEffectfilms Don't think that's how it works lol. All the Sony games were being sold in the banned countries before, the only reason the games were banned is because Sony made PSN login mandatory even in single player games which is why Steam stopped the sales of sony games in the countries that couldn't make PSN accounts. Therefore now that PSN login is optional, they should unban those countries but they haven't. Also, people in those 180 countries have PS4/PS5 and they do have PSN, it's just registered under another country and Sony has said they're ok with that. So, this whole issue should not even exist.
@ They literally sold in those countries before. They are selling in them now by choice.
@@RHQ7 I'm legitimately confused then. I'm wondering if this was one of the many things that Hermon wanted before he got demoted. That would explain why they're reversing this so soon afterwards, but I imagine unblocking 180 countries might take some time. Either way this shouldn't have happened to begin with and is obviously not something current leadership is okay with.
It's insane to me that a game company would effectively region lock their own titles from entire nations of potential customers just so they can force their privileged customers to perform an extra step that only annoys them and fosters negative perceptions toward their company. This is what happens when the economy is controlled by overgrown boys in suits who neither know nor care what the world is like below the 34th floor.
It’s likely due to how performance is measured for studies becoming a terrible metric to measure due to people starting to do that one thing to boost performance. Once the study is done then people start to do the thing that the higher ups are measuring. Like if mouse movements are the metric for work done, people will just start moving their mouse, even if no work is being done. If your metric for success is psn sign ups, then you’ll aim for psn sign ups, even though it doesn’t correlate to financial success. This is likely why they are walking it back now, their financial quarter has finished and they realized that it’s not working and it takes time for them to start removing the systems they put up in the first place.
Well put
Not paying Sony a single dime until it removes requirement from Ghost of Tsushima and let me purchase the game in my country.
we are a company that wants to make as much money as possible
>restricts money makers from being sold
why aren't we selling games?
@@Simp_Supreme you mean ,,restricts no big amount of money makers frome being sold ''
,,why aren't we selling games?> '' becasue ,,we'' selling old games on PC after few years of main release xd
Your loss lmao
@tylmf not really. I said I am not gonna pay them , not saying I am not going to play them and you can draw the conclusion. I want to pay them but they wont to sell me a single player game because I live in a country where they cant provide PSN services, so here I am becoming Jack Sparrow (already played Until Dawn). Before Ghost of Tsushima I bought every single PSS game for full price on release date except Last of Us P1 (as I bought it twice in PS3+PS4) . So as long as Sony does not sell me Ghost of Tsushima (because I want it in my steam library) I will not pay them a single dime.
This is why physical media matters. Most games are fully on disk and dont require patches or online to download. You digital media fools are naive to the facts.🤣🙄
If they are still blocking countries from purchasing games on PC, it doesn’t matter what they walk back.
i live in america and i still don't want to buy them. unblock them in those 180 countries, then i'll reconsider.
Is that up to them? These things are usually dictated by the countries themselves.
@@MrEffectfilms it is, helldivers wasn't region blocked at first and you could buy it everywhere with no issue. sony retroactively blocked it in 180 countries for no reason.
@gregorymirabella1423 I'll have to look into that then. That just seems so counter intuitive to just block a bunch of countries for no reason. That's not even smart from a financial perspective and people can hate Sony all they want but they've been this successful for a reason. They're not stupid so there has to be a real reason for this.
Sony has been proven to not be good stewards with PII so the less places you give that info to the better off you are.
alright Luke I got a super important interview Monday for a big boy job. wish me luck sir.
Take it from games already out or its meaningless. Theyre just blowing more smoke
Does that mean we might see HZD remastered and maybe Forbidden West on Gog? I bloody hope so.
Are they still limiting where you can buy them to countries where PSN exists?
Right now, none of these games shows up on Steam for me. No store pages, no trace of existence on Steam. It was also not possible to vote for any PSN game for Steam awards from a country where PSN isn't available.
@marciusnhasty so, like I thought, a token gesture without ACTUALLY changing anything substantial.
@The__Ninjaneer Maximum benefit of the doubt would be that Steam needs a hard guarantee that Helldivers 2 scenario won't repeat. I was refunded without asking for a refund when that went down.
But likely, they don't want to sell games where they don't sell hardware.
Because if you make it a requirement it will get rejected. No one likes to be railroaded in how they play or access a game. Should have always been an “incentive” from the start. Even EA started taking launchers out of some games. The writing is on the wall, you don’t need a launcher unless it’s through that service. Practically you handle the game launching from an exe or a platform like Steam or Epic
The problem is Steam takes 30 percent of the games they have on their launcher. I'm not going to get mad at someone not wanting to give up over a quarter of their games total sales for just letting people launch it.
And so ends the reign of Herman
I can't even buy these games in my country...
Pirate it
@@manwithoutmercy I pirated Ghost of Tsushima, played like 30 mins and never touched it again. Pirated games just don't hit the same.
@@mariusj6004why though? It's the same game isn't it?
@@MrEffectfilms I sort of work in this field so it doesn't sit well when I pirate.
Good for them. When will PS5 gamers finally get a win Sony?
They should drop PSPlus too. Back on PS4 era, pretty much all online games were free to play, in some form, on PS4. Today, most online games require PS Plus subscription. And lot of gamers are NOT ok with this. Just look at Test Drive Solar Crown. One reason it was such a flop on PS5 is because it was PS Plus only. Had it been free to play in single player online mode like, say, Forza Horizon games are on Xbox, it would have sold much better.
Forza isn't free unless you have Game pass which is still an account. PSN has been a thing since the PS3 era too so I don't know what you're talking about here. Almost none of this information is true.
Just to remind ya this is Sony americas fault not Sony Japan theres a huge difference, but people leave that out.
My poe1 micros are locked to ps. Hopefully this will chsnge that.
If they don't want to sell, then I don't buy. Simple as that.
You can;t buy if thjey dont sell you, it isn't as if you had any option there xd
“I’m trying to give you money!”
Sony: please sign in
@@sraitama9412 Pirate them, simple
Shock horror your previous video was horrifically wrong, as expected.
lol wario
Finally, thank God
Amazing no need for psn account, that changed literally nothing excpet taking argument to hate on sony frome players xd
Mhm, such a big issue.
Luckily you don't need to make an account for.
- Steam
- Epic
- Gforce
- Ubisoft
- EA
- Rockstar Games
- CA
- 2K
And so on.
They don't region lock their games.
Sony region blocks 180 countries and their redund policy is really anti consumer and screws the customer
there is a reason why people make a big deal about them
Yes you do. Everyone who uses those things has an account. What do you think your games are tied to?
