Welcome! Today, I show my layout plan for the kitchen. Originally I was going to do the house in the 1950s style but, it wasn't right for that. ( The Atomic Era is my favorite and I wish I had been around in the 50s and had a home back th...

    Out of everything you discussed for the floors I think I agree with you. The terracotta would give a nice warm, homey feeling. I wonder though with the floors being terracotta should the walls be a deeper color than lighter color??

    • @MiniatureMadnessofcherylg2696
      @MiniatureMadnessofcherylg2696 11 днів тому

      Hi Laura. I really think that terracotta is the way I will go but, I think lighter walls will give me more options when I put the cupboards in. I am not sure if I want to use stain or paint and what color I will choose for them. I am going to try for varied colors in the terracotta, not just the light shade of it. I will find some darker colors of paper as well as light to hold up on the walls to see what will look best, once I get the floor done.

    • @Lauras-tinyview
      @Lauras-tinyview 11 днів тому

      @@MiniatureMadnessofcherylg2696 I agree with the terracotta flooring. Especially with the varying shades of terracotta. I love the way you can see into the dining room. I thinks that’s why I keep seeing like a medium shade of pumpkin for the walls with ivory cupboards. Even maybe like a medium wine for the walls. I think it would go nicely with the wallpaper in dining room. That’s a great idea to hold some papers up to see what will work for you.

      @@Lauras-tinyview I like the way you can see into the dining room, also. The big opening is great and a pain at the same time as it makes it hard to use regular 1/12th cupboards. I will just make them. I like the idea of both the pumpkin and the wine colors in there for the walls, thank you for those ideas!

  • @Lauras-tinyview
    @Lauras-tinyview 17 днів тому

    Great information Cheryl thanks! Do you think if you paint it with glue or gesso it would keep it from cracking or chipping? Have you ever tried air dry clay instead of the plaster of Paris?

    • @MiniatureMadnessofcherylg2696
      @MiniatureMadnessofcherylg2696 17 днів тому

      Thank you, Laura. Paint seems to keep it together and that is what I will be doing. Yes, I think gesso might work but, I would hesitate on putting glue on it as glue does have a tendency to shrink as it dries. I suppose you could also put a layer of Mod Podge over the paint when you are done to help it too. As long as it won't be roughly handled, paint, alone, has always worked for me. Any liquid medium you put on is going to be absorbed a little bit into the plaster unless you want to try and seal it first. I am just going to be going with the paint as it has worked before. This is why if someone is doing it, it is best to experiment first. I have not tried air day clay but, I would assume it would work also. Thank you for your questions and thank you for watching!

I have not created Boho before so, this is something new for me also. I love the style and the channel Sweet Magnolia is where I am getting my inspiration from. The peacock pic, I was going to use in another house but, since Boho focuses on nature, art and that sort of thing, I thought I would use it in this build. I can always make another.

    Oh, I love the peacock picture!! That'll be great in your boho house!! The window is cool, too!

      Thank you. I liked the window but, then, didn't know if it was what I wanted. I tried different ones but, kept coming back to that one so, it must have been the right choice! Thank you for watching!

    This is going to be a great series! I looking forward to it. Love how you painted your frames!! Thanks for showing it in the light. The one you showed at the end is my favorite one!❤ Your flowers are Beautiful!! Peonies are my very favorite flowers! I love that they were planted by your grandmother.

      Thank you, Laura! I am still planning out the room I want to put everything in that I am going to make I hope I can do as good cutting my foam core as you do. Seems no matter how carefully I cut, I come out off somehow. I am pretty happy with the way the one frame turned out, the one at the end. I love my Peonies, they are very special to me and the fact they are the old world and non hybrid makes them all the more special. Some of the Peony plants were almost 4ft high this year. I have Iris that Grandma originally planted too! They are a gorgeous, maroon color and no one else around here seems to have any like them. So excited for your next video, can't wait until it's up!

      @@MiniatureMadnessofcherylg2696 I don’t think I have ever seen a maroon iris before. Sounds really pretty! If you go outside again in your video I’d love to see it. The next video is going to be a quickie about floors. My grandson is here visiting for two weeks and I haven’t had a lot of craft time.

    Hi Cheryl. I love the curtains. Watching your videos I can see how I struggled with even the simple things like curtains. What did you use for curtain rods and am I seeing things but is the wall paper different colors by the windows?

    • @MiniatureMadnessofcherylg2696
      @MiniatureMadnessofcherylg2696 Місяць тому

      Thank you. I didn't use curtain rods, I used strips of wood. I had just barely enough of that lace to get all the curtains out of so, I just glued them flat to small, white, strips, of wood. The wall paper is all the same, I think it is just the lighting on that day that made it look that way or the darkness of the space.
