- Welcome! Today, I show my layout plan for the kitchen. I talk a lot about the walls and flooring, showing some options and then, in true, Cheryl, style, I change my mind and realize, I am over complicating things. Originally I was going to do the house in the 1950s style but, it wasn't right for that. ( The Atomic Era is my favorite and I wish I had been around in the 50s and had a home back then.) I do come up with a solution and I think it's going to turn out great! Next week, we start working in the kitchen and I am so excited!

Out of everything you discussed for the floors I think I agree with you. The terracotta would give a nice warm, homey feeling. I wonder though with the floors being terracotta should the walls be a deeper color than lighter color??
Hi Laura. I really think that terracotta is the way I will go but, I think lighter walls will give me more options when I put the cupboards in. I am not sure if I want to use stain or paint and what color I will choose for them. I am going to try for varied colors in the terracotta, not just the light shade of it. I will find some darker colors of paper as well as light to hold up on the walls to see what will look best, once I get the floor done.
@@MiniatureMadnessofcherylg2696 I agree with the terracotta flooring. Especially with the varying shades of terracotta. I love the way you can see into the dining room. I thinks that’s why I keep seeing like a medium shade of pumpkin for the walls with ivory cupboards. Even maybe like a medium wine for the walls. I think it would go nicely with the wallpaper in dining room. That’s a great idea to hold some papers up to see what will work for you.
@@Lauras-tinyview I like the way you can see into the dining room, also. The big opening is great and a pain at the same time as it makes it hard to use regular 1/12th cupboards. I will just make them. I like the idea of both the pumpkin and the wine colors in there for the walls, thank you for those ideas!
Nice job but the audio/ volume is very low. Even with my earphones on I couldn't hear clearly.
I am so sorry, I turned the volume down as when I would replay the video, it sounded like it was way too loud and my computer doesn't have a very good speaker. From now on, I will leave it alone. Thank you for watching.
