Fifty-ninth track day. This was a tough one.
Had food poisoning of some kind. Ended up puking a ton the first half of the day... Rested, closed my eyes, and laid back between sessions to keep my composure for track sessions. Every time I drank anything it would come back up. So just had to wait my body out... Ended up feeling normal around lunch time. The Garmin overview shows it. Lap times were really off in the morning sessions and never got anywhere near my 1.41.9 PB all day. Still a fun day of clean lapping.
Ran red and yellow group. So, most of these sessions are back-to-back. ~45 minutes at time. Tires, brakes, and car did great. Squeezed cooldowns in as much as I could.
Somehow, I have more events at Laguna (8) than Sonoma (7) now. Yet, laguna is 2 hours further for me. lol. 5 of those being heavy rain events. At this point I would say I really have Laguna down. My confidence in every corner is extremely high for a track with walls all around. I can't help but drift every few laps too. Sonoma I am way more reserved and never feel like I have hit that level of comfort.
My first set of E46 RE71 now have 17 total heat cycles. Was starting to feel the drop off and sliddy'ness near the end of the day. Chris always mentions it to me when his are clapped out over the years. Finally understand. They probably have another event on them tho, tread wise. Try and use them up at East in January with Speed SF.
Was a very eventful year. Tied last year's events.16 track days, 3 of those with double run groups. Tons of good times with all the track buds. Achieved several goals I had planned out. Have a few more on the horizon for 2025...
