  • Drove over to IKEA and gave me a reason to test out the track day recording rig again. This time on the F80 M3.
    Now that I know to just leave the gain set at -12. Was able to fine tune the setup even further.
    Haven't touched normalizing or used 32-bit float in editor yet.
    (The audio track is lower than the master file. UA-cam is doing some sort of processing on the audio.)
    Really happy with both the mic 2 direct and purple panda lav setups. Either one would be acceptable.
    Will definitely run the lav mic during a wet track day though. The transmitter would get ruined on a heavy shower.
    I've never actually recorded under the hood on this car. The turbos and intake don't make tons of noise so I've never ran it. Decided to give it a try though. Probably wont ever record them during a track day.
    Exhaust is an Active Autowerke single midpipe with bootmod3.
    Everything else is stock.
