How to: 1969 Pontiac Firebird Headlight Adjustment. High Beams are Hunting squirrels in the trees.
Went to a cruise night and on the way back discovered my high beams were a bit too “high” on my 1969 Pontiac Firebird. So, we’re going to adjust them in this video.

    This was so helpful, thank you. I'll be doing this on my ES330 on Saturday. You are illustrate why most mechanics and handy people keep random bits and bobs around- you never know what will come in handy and when. The bits and bobs really came through on the press operation!

    one thing I love about harbor freight, as long as you have access to a welder, a grinder, a drill, and some extra steel, you can reinforce and modify anything, it’s like a blank canvas, and by the end you’ll have something very stout, and save quite a bit of money too

    Farmcraft 101 had to completely rebuild his transmission jack that was "rated for 800 lbs" that couldnt hold a 500 lb tranny.. domt get me wrong i have lots of hf tools, i literally just got home from buying more, u just have to temper ur expectations and i wouldn't put stuff near the rated capacity of their cheaper products, especially if youre life depends on it or it is an expensive part/vehicle/ motor.. but thats with their cheapest options, like their higher optioned tools i pretty much trust for instance the better motor stand or the better transmission jack

    That engine stand will hold an LS based engine - no problem! I have an older Bluepoint (AKA, Snap-on) unit thats built the exact same way as this HF unit! Over tighten the bolts and the square tubing wants to crush inward. But I've hung 6.5L (almost 800Lbs) fully dressed engines on it!

    The only time that I have been stranded is when a radiator drain plug broke while waiting at an intersection. I was able to park it before the temperature went up. I was lucky because I missed the usual freeway on-ramp and if I hadn’t it might have happened on the freeway with a worse outcome.

    Maybe that's the initial cause of all the Junk LSs. Touch play in the Rockers causing inaccurate timing to the lifters causing the lifters to jam up and fail fast. What a pile!

    noise isn't "rhythmic". don't think its internal engine. sounds like a bearing. like in alternator, smog pump. have you taken off the fan belt and fired it up to see if the noise goes away?

    • @ogresspeedshop
      @ogresspeedshop 10 днів тому

      The belts are off. With what I’ve been reading and seeing, it’s leading towards a lifter being bad or turned in the plastic retainer.
