1969 Pontiac Firebird Trunk/ Deck Lid Rust Repair. Part 2:

In my ongoing and seemingly never ending quest to remove as much rust as possible and yet try to save as many original parts as I can on my 1969 Pontiac Firebird, in this video we tackle to deck lid or trunk lid. Basically we make a patch panel to fix the first part of the rusty trunk lid and also close the gap between the lid and the quarter panel. Let me know what you think and enjoy the video.

Fantastic content. I have a similar job ahead of my with a 78 Oldsmobile 98. The front edge of the hood is in very poor shape and needs to be redone. I have never welded in my life but I am teaching myself with content like yours and after some test runs will give it a go. Thankfully it's all flat steel but I will need to try and recreate some profiles. Rear doors have one rust hole each but I think that'll be a lot easier. Thanks for posting, I will be using your video for reference

Glad it could help you out and I appreciate you letting me know. I have to do the hood for the Firebird as well. It’s a little more involved because of the shape of the “beak” on firebirds. We’ll see how that goes. It’ll probably be the next rust repair video I do with the firebird. Thank you again for watching and sharing your project with me.
