Is the screen actually removable?…
Hi. Yes it's removable, but when they fit them there's a couple of infill pieces they remove. So if you buy a 350 you need to get the infill pieces if you want to remove the screen.
My sort of Humour loved the ride, haven't a clue where you have been, but who gives a sh----- good fun watching you the term fun is very loosely used. Haha i'm only joking. Just acquired my first NC750x dct. never had auto before so very unsure of handling etc. feathering is my biggest concern. I ride nt650 and CBF so quite heavy bikes, so all control is with the clutch at slow speed. Any guidance appreciated on this new contraption it will never last you know. Isn't that what they said to Brunel. 😂😂.
Enjoyed your video. Thanks for the information. Thinking about swapping my speed twin 900 for a NC750 DCT so found your experience with the auto changes helpful.
Ey up Can you go camping on a NC750X? - yes of course you can 👍 Great video by the way Having camped numerous times I have this year made a couple of changes. When packing the bike I now remove the top box and load my 70 Ltr roll bag and tent on the rack. To offset the loss of the top box space I’ve now fitted 2 crash bar bags and a tank bag (or should that be a frunk bag 🤔). This allows access to the pillion seat for refuelling and I can now pit stop as quick as my non NC fellow riders. In addition and in an attempt to reduce the stuff I pack, I’ve had a serious look at what I take. There’s no need for everyone taking the same kit. I still pack a Tarp for those wet days and use it for getting my bike gear on rather that struggle in a two man tent and for cooking breakfast etc I saw from the video you have the same or similar throttle lock I’ve fitted. I suffer with arthritis and this device really helps along with riding a DCT like yours. I’ve fitted a bar to replace the clutch lever so I can stretch and rest my left hand on longer rides. I’m 72 yrs old Happy camping
Thanks mate for chucking us along.
🤣🤣Glad you enjoyed the ride. 😁
You could go on a moped, around the world even.
True. I don't have the time or the stamina for that though.
You sure can and I have done a few times 😎
I'm getting older and supposed to be growing up, but I still love sleeping in a tent. Just don't do it often enough.
@@ayorkiepetrolhead2571 I try to go once a month, just love it.
Hi so what happened between part 2 of your France trip and now ?
hi.life gets in the way sometimes eh.got lots ovideo but no time to edit and upload.but i will try harder, as myschool reports used to say lol.
@ that’s ok just thought I missed something. Is the thunderbird a addition or did you get rid of one of your other bikes 👍🏿
@@desmiller4764 its an addition.
I've done some test drives on Pans and I'm finishing the deal with one with ABS+TCS+CBS! Do you mind sharing what carplay you used and how did you mount it? Thank you so much!
Hi. I use a cheap android phone and run an app called "my route app" it's mounted using a quad lock universal mount. Regards Tony
@@tonyevans2460 Hi! Thank you for your quick reply! But in this video is visible a device next to the quadlock mount, which is not an Android phone. You have another video where both devices are working in tandem (phone+Carplay/AndroidAuto). I'm curious about the one shown in this video specifically. Thank you so much!
@Gouranga547 hi apologies yes, that is a garmin zumo xt.
Hi, i have been looking to buy one of these, simply because i really like them, because its a Honda and that i plan on doing a tour of France by myself. This was most entertaining, and i really appreciate you going through the bother of sharing it with us. Thank you! I will hopefully retrace my steps having done it in a Renault 4, 30 odd years ago.
I had two ST1100 One I diched and the other i trade for a ST1300. Great machines both. The ST1300 makes me feel too comfortable. As long you’r drive rain doesn’t matter.
Hello from Canada, I ride an early gen . We are cooling off into fall now. The big 1300 loves the crisp air here.
Would love to ride a pan over there for a month.
I'm giving serious consideration to buying a used Thunderbirs 1700LT. I like the blue & white version. I have sat on a couple and they have the most incredibly comfortable seat...
I can tell you from experience, they are incredibly comfortable for 6to 8 hours riding a day. 😁 Most comfortable bike I've toured on.
@@ayorkiepetrolhead2571 Thank you for such a prompt reply. I was looking towards a Rocket3 Touring but I do not need the extra power and the T-Bird is so darned attractive. I sue as heck don't know how they've made the seat so comfortable but as I ride 400+ miles a day when I get the chance I reckon this is my next bike...
Great bike, great country ride. They are kind of rare here in the US I think but I happen to luck up on one a few months ago. You are definitely correct when you said that it feels it's weight when coming to a stop. I've been riding for several years now with various bikes and this one still causes some slightly embarrassing stops occasionally. I would also agree that it puts you in a "bimbiling kinda mood" but I don't know what that means exactly. If it means relaxed and laid back then I get it too. There isn't really an aftermarket for accessories where I am though. Took me forever to find passenger floor boards for my wife's comfort, and even then I had to get them from a Triumph rocket three. I'm interested in the tank pouch you have. Can you provide a link or any info where I can find it? Thanks.
Hi Jeremy, yes you are right, to bimble is to ride in a relaxed way just enjoying the scenery. I got the tank Bib second hand just kept scouring ebay ads. Sorry don't know of a manufacturer I think possibly is genuine triumph. Enjoy your Bird and ride safe my friend.
Couple of tips mate. Your road positioning is poor. Most of the time you're far too much to the left of the road. Also, you should never overtake on a hill. IAM member.
Hi. Thanks for the tips. On Cornish country lanes there often tends to be gravel/mud in the centre of the lane, so often I will go to the left of where it is. If I went to the right of the gravel, it would make me feel uncomfortable in certain situations. As it would put me too close to the centre line. Can't remember the overtake on a hill, but if I did it then I must have felt I had enough time to make the overtake safely in what I could see to be clear ahead.
The biggest handling limiting factor with my NC was the horrendous OE Dunlop tyres. Changing to Metzeller's was transformational.
I bought mine secondhand with Metzler on can't fault them however I haven't ridden in the wet yet.
Totally agree. I junked the OEM tyres in less than 2000 miles for a set of Michelin PR4's and it’s a different bike.
@@peterc2248hi. Can you still get pr4? I've had them in the past and they were great, on a gtr 1400 kwak. I'm not a good enough rider to warrant pr6 price but if that's all I can get then I will go with them.
Rubbish bike i took mine back to the shop after a week with all the panel tabs smashed off it and fixed them with screws, stupid Honda think there clever complicating there design
Wow that's unusual for a Honda.
That brings back so many memories. I had a couple of Pans back in the 90’s . My wife and and I toured all all over Scotland and France on them. A great bike and I wish I could fine a good one now .
They are still out there, good ones, but becoming harder to find.
Wish I had one when they were new, I bet they were fantastic.
Great video, look forward to the France trip😊
Hey Yorkie a Squirrel here lol. l watched both your France rides on the Pan. Really enjoyed them thank you so much for going through the effort with editing an all. I know that can be time consuming. Liked your camp site and tent too. I recently brought a Pan and loving it. Been off a bike for over 12yrs now and the pan was an excellent choice for me. I am a bit like you a lone ranger so seeing you out on your own was so inspiring. Beautiful places and gosh you had some narrow and winding roads to negotiate. Enjoyed how you kept it real too showing you having to pull over to see which way to go and doing circles in towns not sure where to get out that is awesome as we all do it haha. Your cam positioning was great too you could see your speed and revs while still seeing the road ahead and views, so you see how you and the Pan work together. Oh if you add both videos you are right they would be longer then a Steven Spelburge movie lol. Hope there are more Pan videos from you. Take care out there. A squirrel from New Zealand not that we have squirrels, we do have Kiwis though.
Very pleased you enjoyed it. Ride safe my friend.
Would you be able to share the brand and model of your cases?
Hi. The side cases are Givi e41 and the top case is givi also but I don't know the model number.
how come you didn’t take the trip on the Honda NC750X as you indicated in earlier video?
I wanted to change the suspension on the nc750x before I went. Didn't get the chance to. So decided on the fjr instead. Have since done the suspension and it's made the nc750x a lot more comfortable and surefooted.
hi what mount are you using for your satnav.
Hi. My sat nav is mounted on a ram ball which is on a shelf made by a company called Aquashak.
i have spare quadlock tried mounting in same position but cant seem to get it to stick out enough to mount satnav on it
There are long arms and short arms for the ram system, have you tried the longer one?
One year later now and how's the Pan treating you? I am very much enjoying this video. Thank you for posting and I look forward to finding your others.
Very well. I recently acquired a Yamaha fjr1300 es and took it on my trip to France and Spain, however I think I was more comfortable on the Pan last year. So the Fjr is up for sale.
Hello again! WHAT IS YOUR OPINION OF THE SH 350 AS REGARDS TRAVEL?
It's fine for an hour plus stints at a time and more than capable of maintaining 65 to 70 mph. Returning 80mpg at the same time. So yes very capable.
very steady riding will be required! My previous bike was the fantastic MT09 SP (2023), and by comparison the lack of suspension quality on the NC is very apparent! Upgrades are definitely planned!
I agree with you. I have got but not fitted yet yss front suspension kit and rear shock and apparently transforms the bike.
I've had my 2024 NC DCT for just over a month now, and have recently had the 600 mile service done at GT's in Plymouth. I got the NC because of a medical problem (hopefully not permanent!), with both my feet, meaning I can't change gear. So if am to keep riding, the NC DCT was the only choice. I am averaging approx.70 mpg, but to get the higher figures, I can see that some
I have just ordered one its coming 1st September I'm a left leg below knee amputee and test rode one last week. Cant wait to get some miles on it. Can I ask was it hard to keep below half revs for the running in procedure?
Shouldn't be a problem, the engine is very Torquey and does not need go be revved to make good progress. 70 mph is only about 3600rpm in top gear. I've always understood a good running in procedure is to not make the engine labour by using too high a gear and not to use full throttle movement. Vary your speeds as much as possible ie don't sit on a motorway at 70mph for 100miles.
Tottaly agree with u dave think we will.just miss out on the final tbh

Hi I don’t think it’s a dirty lens. More like glare from your white helmet because when you look left you can see the haze go away 👍🏿🇬🇧
I think you had condensation in your lense, or it needed to be cleaned, I thought it was because of the sun, but even when it wasn't directly in front of you, the blurriness continued. Thanks for sharing though and see you on your next adventure ✌️ 🤙 🤟
Yes not had it before, could be a school boy error of not cleaning the lens. It was particularly duey that morning.
Well that was a bit unfortunate with the missing parts. I think the editing went a bit out of sink. Hay ho still enjoy your journey 👍🏿
And again at 38 minutes until the end 🤷♂️such a pity I was enjoying your upload.
Thanks, no idea what's happened there🙁thanks for pointing it out.
Your video cut out at 25 minutes 28 seconds and didn't come back on until 33 minutes 33 seconds, 8 minutes of a blank screen lol.
Wow sunshine,it’s a while since I saw the sun here in Blighty 😂 Love the beast (I want one) what a great bike

I thought about the 750 little while back, be a good winter bike thats for sure, ride safe mate
I've also got an nc750x dct. Going on that one to Spain in June. Although I would like to take the pan again. Lol
Hello mate, this is wierd as im looking to buy another 1100 Pan, lol
Haha. Yes they're great piece of kit. Had a 1300 one 12 years ago but prefer this one. Lot more stable and purrs like a kitten. Had a blue one first, was OK but always loved this red, so saved my pennies and found this one with a guy in Spain, every conceivable extra including suspension upgraded. Handles well for a pan.
it is not a 300 cc scooter it is only 279. I own one
could ask what the reg is on this pan lol it looks like one i just brought ?
Hi Peter, I can't remember the reg no, I know it was an 02 plate. It had heated grips, delkevik exhaust cans and a tank bag connecter fastened to the dummy tank cover. Hope that helps. If it is the bike please feel free to bell me on 07545145984 and I will tell you what I know about it.
@@ayorkiepetrolhead2571 no thats not it mine is 2000
just found you also just brought a pan already have couple of enfields also live in cornwall
Hi Peter, whereabouts in Cornwall are you, I'm in Camborne.
@@ayorkiepetrolhead2571 I am just outside St Austell
Owned a Nc750 for a year , very economical, slighly jarring ride . Nice bike though, i upgraded to a vfr800x cross runner , i do miss the Nc750..
Hi. I agree with you on the ride quality. It seems a yss upgrade on fork springs and rear shock improves it, so I'm writing to Santa. How's the Crossrunner? Had a vfr in the past and love the engine. But I do like the adventure type riding position.
@@ayorkiepetrolhead2571 The cross runner is a very well balanced bike , I needed the extra power as my wife comes along on weekend rides . I find the VTEC slightly annoying, I would rather have progressive power delivery. The cross runner feels more refined at speed .
The jarring ride is cured by a Honda software update which takes 10 minutes. This is an official Honda cure which unfortunately a lot of dealers don't know about! It's only because my son is a (clued up) Honda service manager that sorted it for me.
Can't see how a software update cures a jarring ride as the suspension is basic and not adjustable by electronic means.
I referred to the suspension, nothing to do with electronics.@@kevinf-b5065
Are the last letters of the reg LZG?
Hi. No not those 3 letters.
Hiya bud, ive watched a few of your vids, mainly the sh350 i have a sh300, was thinking upgrading to a ADV 350 which you had and also was thinking of a NC750 DCT which you currently have, i like the ease of jumping on a scooter an nipping off to the shops but i like a bike to maybe head over seas! I had many bikes over the years and done France on a BMW K 1100 LT which was over 12 years ago now so I'm just coming back to the bikes via a SH300, any thoughts?
The Adv 350 is a cool machine. But I think the nc750x with the dct is definitely the better bike for longer touring type riding.
I have just returned from 1.650 mile trip around Northern Spain and Western France and the NC coped with ease. Not too much difference from my old Crosstourer DCT which proved too top heavy for someone of my advancing years!
@@kevinf-b5065 Thats some mileage! I need to get some mileage under my belt as i been out of it for so long and my confidence is shot, not even been on a Motorway yet, no actually i did for 1 junction and spent 5 mins leaning into a gusty offside wind!
Excellent
Hi mate, love your rides on the mighty ST1100, just interested to know how you connect the navigation device to the dash. It seems like a great spot for it and im keen to do something similar with my ST. regards Andy from Australia, cheers
Hi Andy. My sat nav is mounted on a shelf that sits above the clocks, a ram ball mount is fastened to the shelf, then I use a short ram arm. It was on the bike when I got it but I think the shelf was made by a company called Aquashak. I've tried Google to find them but to no luck. Ride safe mate.
@@ayorkiepetrolhead2571thanks mate, cheers
I shipped my 1300ST to Germany and drove through England, Luxembourg, Austria, and even through Moldova and USSR..... I mean 30 days of driving and now back in Arizona...... these bikes are something else and just hit 70K miles on my 2006 !!!!!
Wow. That's some adventure. I wish I could afford 30 days. Don't think my wife will ever let me retire lol.
