Hello. Good review. You are right that there are not so many new step trough flat flour scooters on the market but at least we have some. I have my eye on SYM Joyride 300 for some time. But for now, I am riding my old, beat up, million miles, old faithful Kymco Grand dink 250. The Honda is very good too. A neighbor of mine have the old 300 version. The big design difference between the Honda and my Kymco and the Sym is that They are with floor gas tanks and have huge seat storages. My Kymco takes 6 pack of 2 liter beer bottles and still have space in front 😅
Hi. Yes it's removable, but when they fit them there's a couple of infill pieces they remove. So if you buy a 350 you need to get the infill pieces if you want to remove the screen.
I have just got a 2017 300i and agree with you. mega smooth, imperceptible engine. I also have a 125 mode. 300 much better up hills. 300 screen to high and much helmet turbulence. I appreciate what you did to your screen, I will experiment
I love your video. I have a 300 and thinking of upgrading to 350 m 77 so I’m thinking burger it I don’t have much time left I’m going to upgrade but I m torn between this and the forza 350:for more weather protection in N E England I’ll be keeping my 300 anyway it’s been a fabulously great little bike that’s taken me 300 to 600 mile journeys in a single day.
Great review and great video, wonderful part of the country I see. I didn't realise the 350 was so capable. I have a CB500X on order, seriously thinking about cancelling the order for a 350, looks more than capable for me and great fun. Thank you, take care Andy.
Thanks for the Comments. Hope I'm still riding at 77.im a young man of some 61 summers. Still feel 34 inside though. Great little bike the 350. I'm thinking of doing a tour on it in the better weather. Maybe Wales, or across to France. Love touring and camping.
I have a Honda sh125. Rode it to visit my sister 65 miles away. Did 130 miles on 1 gallon of petrol. Cruised at 60 -65mph. Occasional bursts of 70 mph downhill. Cannot see the point of an sh 300 or 350. What is the benefit?
I'm a big guy and I've had 125s and find them underpowered for me when I want to climb hills and overtake. Plus carrying a pillion. But that's me. If your 125 does all you want then it's great. I also have a 1700cc triumph cruiser and I don't go any faster on that than the 350.ive also had a a 1972 puch maxi 50cc push pedal and pop. Guess that's why I use the name petrol head. Ride safe my friend.
@@ayorkiepetrolhead2571 I am a big guy too. 17stone. My neighbour/best friend bought a Honda (Forget the model) capable of doing 150 MPH. We live in the UK. Max allowed speed on motorways is 70MPH. My question to him was "Why"? I never carry a pillion. 99% of riding is in town. Perhaps if I regularly carried a pillion and did 100 mile trips I would see the point of having more power, but I can get to where I'm going just as fast as my 150MPH neighbour can and for a lot less fuel. What am I missing? I agree re: the hard suspension. Learnt to lift my bum off the seat at certain points of certain roads.
300 is totally different performance league to the 125, I actually rode the sh150 in the Netherlands which was perfect (16.5bhp), 300 is fun but I prefer the smaller bike
Hi. I get around 80 to 85 mpg, so I get a range of about 155 miles on a 9litre fill up. I'm 6ft and 16stone plus I live in Cornwall which is quite hilly and often windy.
Got the same bike and used it for camping . Pain having the bag strapped to the seat and having to refuel. Other than that its all I need . Got any tips regarding the windscreen? Take care
Yes I agree about refuelling, I have just bought some soft throw over panniers too. So it could now be a 20 minute pit stop lol. I cut the windscreen down with a dremell, I used masking tape to create the shape then cut to that. Then used some fine sandpaper on the cut edge and then refitted the edge trim. I took about 2.5 inches off. I'm 6ft tall, if your similar I would suggest do 1.5inch first and see how you go. Can always cut shorter but not longer. Ride safe.
There's very little difference I feel. I preferred my 300 colour wise, they're both red but the 350 is a matt finish which I don't care for. I think possibly I preferred the 300 but only only just. 300 is slightly more economical.

I like the fact you are a patiently safe rider I take my hat off to you as I would have past one or two of the cars in front of you. Well done you.
Is the screen actually removable?…
Hi. Yes it's removable, but when they fit them there's a couple of infill pieces they remove. So if you buy a 350 you need to get the infill pieces if you want to remove the screen.
Good to see you setting a splendid example of cutting a corner right at the end for our newer riders
Road was a very small side junction and was clear in all directions, perfectly safe to just clip the corner under the circumstances.
I bet you were a prefect at school.

Great to hear. How many miles do you have on your 300
For cruising i would go for the forza or adv. This one is perfect for commuting in town and suburbian
I now have the Adv 350.

Thanks Andy. Yes it's a really capable machine. I'm 6ft and 16stone and it's quite relaxed cruising at 70mph. Good weather protection too.
Ride safe cheers.
Give the Forza 350 a look too; very capable highway cruiser.
Funny you should say that.. Watch this space.
Thank you for the great information about the fuel economy, il definitely go for a late 300 model vs 350
Nice Ride!
Just wondering what that wind screen is. What brand / type is it?
Hi. Its the genuine honda screen, but I cut it down with a dremel as it was too tall.
@@tonyevans2460 Yes I had the same problem with the SH300 screen. Too high and resulting in turbulence on the helmet causing tinitus.
Hi man... Nice windskreen.... Givi is or puig??
Hi. No its the standard honda but I shortened and shaped it with a dremel.
I wish you’d took us back I was enjoying that😊😊

Hi may I ask the phone holder you are using?
Thank you
Hi Dean, it's a quad lock with a ram ball on it. Then a quad lock universal phone mount. Cheers

What's the deal with the unused black plugs on the screen? And how effective is the screen? It's a weird shape.
Ignore me. I thought it was the Givi screen. Now I've watched your video properly I can see it's a cut down Honda screen.
Hi what's economy like in normal riding ? I have the 125 2022 and I get 169 miles to 6.7 liters that's mixed journeys in 1 day.

Hello again! WHAT IS YOUR OPINION OF THE SH 350 AS REGARDS TRAVEL?
It's fine for an hour plus stints at a time and more than capable of maintaining 65 to 70 mph. Returning 80mpg at the same time. So yes very capable.
What kind of phone holder do you have installed on your scooter?
Hi. Its a ram ball with a quad lock fitting on it.
@@ayorkiepetrolhead2571 Thanks very much!
wish we had this in our country, i hate the maxi scoot look, but every normal lookin scooter here is 160cc below

The 300 was really a 278cc but the 350 is actually a 330cc up by 52cc so as you can see it’s gone UP more than 50cc not less.
Well researched.
This got also new Euro 5 norms, so its got extra 50cc to get over it😂
Lol, you can t remmember the date?
One of the hazards of being semi retired lol
Do you prefer the 300 or the 350?

sh 350 or forza 350 for travel?
I think the Forza looks cooler. But the bigger wheels on the sh make for a better ride and handling.
Was gonna say I recognise this area. #kernow
It is indeed Mathew. In between Newquay and St Ives.
