I'm giving serious consideration to buying a used Thunderbirs 1700LT. I like the blue & white version. I have sat on a couple and they have the most incredibly comfortable seat...
@@ayorkiepetrolhead2571 Thank you for such a prompt reply. I was looking towards a Rocket3 Touring but I do not need the extra power and the T-Bird is so darned attractive. I sue as heck don't know how they've made the seat so comfortable but as I ride 400+ miles a day when I get the chance I reckon this is my next bike...
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this bike. It was great to hear perspective from someone that hasn't owned a cruiser before...I'm in the same boat and considering picking one of these up.
Hi. You won't regret it. It is a different ride to whatever you had before, but in a really refreshing way once you've adjusted your riding style to suit. Ride safe
Great bike, great country ride. They are kind of rare here in the US I think but I happen to luck up on one a few months ago. You are definitely correct when you said that it feels it's weight when coming to a stop. I've been riding for several years now with various bikes and this one still causes some slightly embarrassing stops occasionally. I would also agree that it puts you in a "bimbiling kinda mood" but I don't know what that means exactly. If it means relaxed and laid back then I get it too. There isn't really an aftermarket for accessories where I am though. Took me forever to find passenger floor boards for my wife's comfort, and even then I had to get them from a Triumph rocket three. I'm interested in the tank pouch you have. Can you provide a link or any info where I can find it? Thanks.
Hi Jeremy, yes you are right, to bimble is to ride in a relaxed way just enjoying the scenery. I got the tank Bib second hand just kept scouring ebay ads. Sorry don't know of a manufacturer I think possibly is genuine triumph. Enjoy your Bird and ride safe my friend.
This could be a great video over 15 minutes. The fact that it's taking you 45 makes it feel slow. However, you live in a beautiful area and you have a beautiful bike, so the potential is there for some great films.
Hi, thanks for the review. Im not professing to be a video editor. However hopefully including a bit of the Cornish countryside is enjoyable. I know I enjoy summer rides that have been videoed, then watch them in the depths of winter. I'll try and cut them down a little bit more. Lol
Hi mate, you said you had to take the bike back for some issue you had. Can you explain more. asking because i'm interested in buying this exact model and it maybe something i need to watch out for. thanks in advance Shaun.
Hi. I took it back for a loud rattle, turned out to be a worn big end shell. Nothing to worry about as it was unheard of before. Particularly in a bike that had only 14k miles on. As a rule they are very reliable and it's a very understressed motor.
Here we go again have a go at cyclist. They are on a country road doing no harm and are NOT 3 abreast , they are 2 abreast slightly staggered and you come along with your in my way attitude. Last vid I will watch just about sums you up for me.
I did pass 2 other cyclists riding in single file on a narrow country road, and said not a word. Much safer for them and other road users I thought. Hey its only my opinion, I'm not asking you to agree to it. Ride safe my friend.
Personally, I think that cyclists should be made to pay road tax, have an MOT, have a cycle driving licence and deferentially have fully comprehensive insurance. You have dedicated lanes that you and other cyclist should be paying for, if your bike is not fit for the road ie no lights or brakes then you should not be on it, nor the pavement what should be solely for pedestrians, you should not block the road by driving slowly double breast and wobbling all over the place and when you crash/scrap cars and motorbikes should be made liable to pay for any damage incurred.

I can tell you from experience, they are incredibly comfortable for 6to 8 hours riding a day. 😁 Most comfortable bike I've toured on.

Yes Barry. Do like the Pan so will be keeping it a while. Unless something draws me away lol
New Subsciber, Australia. Looking at one here and this video certainly helps make my mind up. Can you tell me the make of the screen. Thanks
Hi Mate. The screen is made by a UK company called Skidmarx.
Thanks for subscribing.

I'm in agreement Steve and I ride a bicycle occasionally.
I ride defensively on my motorcycles but some cyclists ride as if they're invincible. Sad thing is they're going to get hurt.
