Could Krebs be given a shot if he signs with Cozens and Quinn, Peterka on top line with Thompson and Tuch, Benson on 3rd line with Zucker and McLeod, Lafferty Aube Kubel, Malenstyn. Greenway as extra skater

Hey Wayne been a while since I've commented on a video, but I've been wondering about Krebs and if we should maybe give him one more chance in the top 6 before trading him. what would you think about theses lines? Peterka - Tage - Cozens Quinn - Krebs - Tuch Benson - McLeod - Zucker Malenstyn - Lafferty - Aube-Kubel Greenway. The top line would be like the kids line on steroids, Cozens has been good on Tage's wing in the past, and so has JJ. The second line would be Krebs who is a gifted playmaker, Quinn who is a natural goal scorer, and Tuch who can do it all and has had good chemisty with Krebs in the past. The third line would be very interesting, Zucker can notch 20 goals, Benson could have a breakout season, and so can McLeod. The fourth line would be one of the best shutdown physical lines in the NHL.

Kulick is not ready for the NHL. Especially not a top six role😂

I can't even fathom Buffalo ever considering trading Levi. It would have to be a real incredible player in return, and even if I still wouldn't to it. Trading Levi would be fan base suicide. Never will happen.

In what world is levi worth 5m after next year?

Wayne, how do you feel about our chances of getting that stud from Anaheim, or either of the two available forwards on "offer" from Philly? I love Kulich, but I don't want to rush his development.

I'm optimistic and I'm excited. I actually like the roster a lot. Would love to see them add a legit top 6 scoring forward, but if they don't I'm hopeful that the kids we have can step up and meet the challenge and expectations.

Hi Wayne, the Sabres scored 296 and 246 goals in 2023 and 2024. I hope I am wrong but I see them taking a step back in 2024-25. Where will the goals come from this year?

That UPL signing was darn good! However, I do see him becoming more like a Biron. Where he's a legit #1 but not franchise goalie. Levi will become the franchise goalie. On paper this team is more then enough to be a playoff team. Even if everyone doesn't perform at their peak, but has a better season overall then last year then we should make the playoffs! Overall I'm honestly not as excited but optimistic to see what happens!

Most predictions have us 6th or 7th in the division. The people who say, "I'll believe it when I see it" about Buffalo in the playoffs put Ottawa and Detroit in. I think they should all be in that position or none of them.

Don't forget that Adams has brought in an almost totally new bottom six group of players who are much more physical and defensively minded! The goalies will have a much easier time stopping the pucks that do reach them because there most likely won't be as many as there were last season. The penalty kill alone should be vastly improved. Now the only real question left for me is who is Ruff going to name as the new Team Captain? It's either Dahlin or Tuch, and I'd vote for Dahlin!

Look for a trade with Calgary, Rasmus Anderson for Sameulsson, Krebs and Jokiharu

Wayne here’s my reason to be optimistic we missed the playoffs last year by 6 points when we had a soft team and coach and every player other than paterka and upl took a step back. Do these negative fans really believe that cozens won’t bounce back power byram dahlin Quinn paterka tage benson can’t all improve of course they can they are 22-25 and just scratching there potential. Also thx for pointing out how overrated yzerman is half of Detroit’s top 6 is aging players like Kane and Tarasenko no thanks I would take our kids offense defense goaltending any day of the week. Just like 05-06 we came out of nowhere there’s no reason it can’t happen again 😀

Curious how a guy from Montreal becomes a Buffalo fan? I’m from Sherbrooke QC and have been a Sabres fan as long as Ive watched hockey because of Hasek and the goathead jerseys.

for those of you who want Kulich in as opposed to, say, Krebs. Stop. You'll be more dissapointed with him than Krebs. HE ISNT READY!! Hes a 1 trick pony as of now. They spent 2.5 years developing Krebs defensive side - allow him some runway with some decent offensive players after being anchored to Okposo & Girgs for 2 szns. The offensive skill is there. He was a top 10 talent his draft year. He needs a chance to play some offense. Kulich's 2 way game is not ready yet. If anything, Rosen is the more complete NHL ready player as of right now.

I said in a comment a while ago I’d like to see UPL between 4-5M and while he falls on the high end of that I still feel great about this contract.

Why do we "NEED" to get Levi locked in next year or earlier? He's done absolutely nothing, proven nothing. You have gone on about how they can't commit to UPL and overpay him but with Levi they have to immediately lock him in before he's played even one season as a backup in the NHL.

The nitwit negative fans on Sabre "fan" sites is just horrible. How can you be a fan and be so negative towards your team? There is legitimate hope with this team!! Id rather have the Sabres roster than the Leafs! Them and 4 players eating up 50 million of the cap. I look forward to the new year. Just to silence the crappy "fans."

My only question going forward is why did we buy out Skinner and not utilize his cap space? He was that much of a defensive liability? Ruff hates him that much?

If UPL can replicate the post Christmas form he showed this wilbe a solid deal, remember his stats were hurt by how often Granato left him in during blowouts. If Levi performs a similar trick then Buffalo will be in an envious position, probably the best duo since Miller/Biron or even when Hasek/Fuhr won the Jennings. It's a positive move for me and fills me with genuine hope for the season. 😊

How I feel about Peyton Krebs as the 13th Forward going into this season. “Did you ever find Bugs Bunny attractive when he put on a dress and played a girl bunny?“- Wayne Campbell Answer: NO. Peyton Krebs might be a "beauty" and a locker room favorite but he is not an attractive 4th line NHL'er. He's a top 6 AHL'er at best. Great Video! Party On Wayne!⚔

I like the UPL contract. It can be moved as others have pointed out. I still think the Sabre's think Levi is going to be the #1 in a few years. Hopefully this has them set in net for years to come.

cozens problem last year was he was forced to be an enforcer. That's not his role.... hopefully the additions in the bottom 6 fix this.

I hate Kane but he was almost a point per game guy and had 7 game winning goals (5 of which was during their playoff push when Larkin went down). He put the team on his back for that push. Calling him washed sounds like blind hate dude. He was fantastic last year.

If UPL and Levi turn into a Swayman Ullmark situation for the Sabres. You could trade UPL for a 1st. So you would get a ton of value if both our Goalies turn out to be very good and with this contract we are in a very good situation if that happens.

His tactics have changed. Before he chased the puck leading to bad goals. Now he’s staying more in his net and results are showing in spades. UPL will be just fine.

You guys remember Jim Carey and Olaf Kolzig story back from the 90 ' ? It reminds me Levi and UPL - Levi a golden child whereas UPL earned his starter job the hard way. I would not be entirely surprised if Levi actually didn't pan out and Luukonnen became a solid no 1 for years to come, I guess the time will tell.

Biggest worry is the injuries

Great contract for both sides. Sabres provided a fair contract based on a one year performance which was incredible due to the under performing team around him. Let be honest the production from numerous players could have had most goalies throwing in the towel. UPL in my opinion became a leader in the clubhouse and a co-caption candidate for this year team. UPL could have drag this out for more money but he didn't. Sabres are in a great position with two goalies with fire in their bellies. For UPL this shows to me that he is ready and willing to lead the Sabres to the promise land. Sabres have satisfied most if not all of the issues outside of playing hockey. Ruff was hired to fix though issues. Sabres now have a can do coach with a can do goalie. I looked forward to the upcoming season to see a team unlocking their potential. Go Sabres.
