I'm confused. Was it windy and then it did that during and she had no idea and no one told her? Cause if that's the case, then it's understandable to an extent. Maybe it's because of my hair type (4a) but I can't imagine my hair even being in that state in the first place. It seems super dry hence why it's just sticking up and not moving. She also has bleached hair which dries out hair more (it literally creates high porosity which is technically not a good thing). In the Google searches it looks like she wears her hair in a chunky twist out which is NOT the same as what it was looking like in the viral video...I think that is plainly obvious. Her hair isn't even naturally like that. It'd be one thing if she washed her hair and it shrunk into an "afro" but a chunky twist out is an intentional style. It's like if someone with wavy hair washed their hair and came to work with it in it's natural state vs the wavy haired girl purposely using gel or some holding product and putting her hair in spikes (think punk rock). No offense, but sometimes I feel like you're pretending to not see what someone's hair actually looks like. I agree that she doesn't deserve to be bullied and harassed but you can share that message without saying that her hair is professional simply because she's natural when that argument wouldn't even fly with other hair types because this is not her hair in it's natural state (I'm using natural not to mean unrelaxed but to mean unstyled). Also this isn't a black beauty standard. Wearing it that way isn't a black beauty standard and it shouldn't be. Also, I am one of the people who said her hair doesn't look natural and that it looks relaxed (or straightened). Maybe you were not talking about me but I never said that her hair doesn't look groomed lol. I rarely ever use that word. It just doesn't look natural. I see no natural curl pattern or texture. Now it could be natural and straightened but who knows. Did the bride say her hair is natural?

First of all, 🤣 at "All Lives Matter," which is exactly why I'll never try it, in addition to the expensive price point. I know for a fact that I can achieve great results with a cheaper product line. Secondly, it is a cash grab. She's a multimillionaire whose goal is to continue to fund the lifestyle that she's become accustomed to while also building generational wealth for her family. I state these facts without malice. I'd rather save my money to purchase concert tickets to her next world tour if she continues making music. Experiences like the one she created with Renaissance was 🤌🏿

3:47 is what I try to tell naturals that complain that their hair gets tangled while shampooing all the time. Keep the hair pulled taut with one hand and sections definitely help even though BGC has taught the girlies to not use sections and just do everything all willy nilly with no order or sense of direction. Her curl diameter is bigger than mine and my hair is type 4a.

Hi Coffee Cutie, Mayowa's World did a video about this very thing recently: ua-cam.com/video/R3a_cHpz8Hs/v-deo.htmlsi=Kp-cEtShMHW6LIz1 Personally, it's exhausting as a type 4, dark-skinned black woman, to feel pressured to show up in public as a perfectly put together professional in order to be taken seriously. However, the reality is that even if she was of another race with a finer/softer texture of hair, she'd still be expected to have it styled (no messy bun, not overly teased/unbrushed/uncombed), soft makeup applied, and a conservative outfit on. I firmly believe that all people have the right to move in the world how they see fit, but when it comes to your 💰, make compromises or become an entrepreneur. At the very least, she could have put some product in it and finger detangled it for uniformity, but I digress...#DoYouBoo

She is outside any one that wears their hair like that know the elements will fight against you…I myself wore my fro blown out today but soon as that Georgia heat and humidity hit it it became a puff out still cute but I know that’s just what’s gonna happen it’s just the Eurocentric brain dead people that have a problem because there is no wrong way to wear natural hair

This is why we should bring back shame & discernment…I wear my natural hair 24/7, I know when it looks styled & when I rolled out of bed(literally). She CHOOSE not to style it and knew it would cause discourse. Regardless if you like natural hair or not, her hair didn’t look put together-period. I hate this narrative that natural hair is just so impossible to make look beautiful & put together when it definitely is. Even her shirt is too big and sloppily put together.

  • @dcbabe21

Come on guys stop. There’s a difference between wearing your natural hair, and I just rolled out my bed hair. Let’s not make it seem like, “oh she’s being shamed for wearing her natural hair “. When clearly she has BLONDE DYE!! In her hair. It funny how you can still claim to be natural, while wearing a wig, and dying your hair. The other photos that’s shown of her, looks more presentable for her career, but I’m sry that first one is wild. Ask yourself this question. Would you let someone stand in your wedding like that? I”ll wait…exactly!!

Nope. I don't care what type of hair she has, she could have pinned it back. It wasn't professional. I don't know if she was trying to go viral, was late for work, or simply just didn't care. Why is she embarrassing us like that? She could've at least combed her hair. Honestly I would have the same reaction if it was a white person with messy hair. You can tell she put no effort in her hair. Texture and messy are not the same. Please stop. *edit, I know people with natural hair who refuse to comb it because of how difficult it is so they chose to neglect it and allow it to mangle up. How is that ok?

Being black doesn’t mean we have to walk around looking a hot mess. Saying that other races have bad hair days too is being intellectually dishonest. News reporters with straight hair aren’t on NATIONAL television wearing a messy bun. She looks unkempt. This is not our natural state. If you want to look unkempt, you’re going to be treated as such. If a white woman went on the news with bed head, she would be talked about too. My natural hair always looks nice. It literally takes 5 seconds to spray some water and shake the curls out. Stop trying to use being natural as an excuse to be lazy and unkept. I wish the community would realize that it’s not Eurocentric to Look Good and put together. Y’all talk about racism but aren’t realizing that looking crazy is literally what they WANT you to do. You prove their point every time you leave your house looking a mess. You’re giving them a reason to feel superior. Get some personal standards please.

I am pretty sure it looked cute when she left the house but girl is working outside, on what seems to be a shore or a boardwalk and we know as naturals that wind and humidity are a deadly combo for a twist or braid out. Her only mistake is not planning her back up pins or whatever.

This is easily my favorite channel on UA-cam. Thank you so much for all the awareness you bring. Change is going to be uncomfortable but it's necessary. We don't have time or energy to wait for other people's acceptance. For someone to go out and bash another black woman for simply being herself says alot about that person and their own projection and self hatred. Kudos and praise to the young woman daring to be herself. This just shows how profound and divine our hair is. Otherwise, there would be no issue. Just us truly loving and embracing ourselves will change the world in ways we can't fathom. It all starts with the black woman ❤❤❤

  • @Sinadarling

I hate to say this but black women be so triggered by seeing their image in its natural state. They go out of their way to bully any bw who goes against the grain when it comes to hair. They either want the hair to be shaped perfectly with absolutely no strands out of place if you’re wearing an afro and if it’s in twists, locs etc it has to be perfectly laid and defined. Whether you would wear your hair like this or not, the outrage is unwarranted and ridiculous.

Listen…we need to have a code of what’s acceptable and what’s not. To me this isn’t it. She doesn’t know how to style her hair. Why do we have to accept anything? Then y’all will be the same women crying that people… especially men don’t like y’all hair. 4c hair isn’t inherently ugly… it’s the way y’all wearing it. The hair was unprofessional and y’all know it. However if she likes it I love it… for her. She shouldn’t be bullied though.
