    That sensor, I believe, is the main cause of the Foresters having intermittent AC problems. Compressor cuts off after about 10 minutes cooling and only comes on after a long while. I've already adjusted the clutch air gap to .3mm, relay ok, refrigerant level ok and still the same on and off symptoms. I will just have to bypass that thermistor by jumping both wires and call it a day or get a new one and mount it behind the evap as opposed to the front to avoid having to disconnect the expansion valve tubes. Thank you, SubieTech!

    Best video and short cut ever to remove rear struts from the car. Pure Genius to use the lower control arm to pry the strut back into place. Did both rear struts on a Crosstrek in 45 minutes on a hoist. Bought pre assembled with spring struts from Amazon. This job was the simplest due to watching this video. Hats off to the author!!!!!!

    Why didn’t you just use the torx fastener that came with the breaker bar? I just saw someone do this with a Matco flex head you can buy for $35 and they drilled out the hole and used the same fastener that comes with the breaker bar.

    One side of my cam sprockets won’t sit in its proper place for timing. The top cam jumps counter clockwise and the bottom cam jumps clockwise, the arrow won’t stay pointing at each other. How do you get them to stay in proper timing?

      There is a service position with the crankshaft keyway facing 10 o'clock where the LH cams are unloaded. Put the chain on in this position using the links for timing.

    Have you seen the TSB? Looks like a new adaptor cord and special tool is required. The BLS comes as a kit with special grease, tool, wire harness, nut and Clevis pin. Not easy. The TSB recommendation is to remove the brake pedal.

    Would anyone be willing to help? I’m replacing my rear struts 2015 Forester.. and the third bolt next to the wheel won’t come off because there’s a piece of the brake assembly/control arm that’s blocking it. I took advice from another vid and used a long bar to try and pry the wheel base down putting pressure under the control arm and pressure above the caliper, but the strut still won’t come off. It feels like it’s stuck on something near the trunk and I’m afraid to put too much pressure on it (yes I removed the two nuts inside the trunk). I watched so many vids beforehand and felt so prepared. Any advice would be much appreciated.

    • @christinebee84
      @christinebee84 3 роки тому

      @@rearwheel69 yes! I had to remove the bolts on the arm to drop it down, then I used the jack trick to get enough pressure to elevate the arm back up to resecure the lower strut bolt (after the strut was bolted up top). Was intense but just couldn’t get the clearance to get the struts in or out with an extended crowbar. This one guy in one of the vids did it so effortlessly but I’m not that strong and I didn’t want to break anything! It went well.
