Looks like the Subaru supplied special tool that holds the lock nut. It’s magnetic.

Have you seen the TSB? Looks like a new adaptor cord and special tool is required. The BLS comes as a kit with special grease, tool, wire harness, nut and Clevis pin. Not easy. The TSB recommendation is to remove the brake pedal.
