I am aware this is an old video but I have a question. I will be replacing this valve body on a friends 2012 Legacy in the next couple of weeks. Once the assembly is replaced and new fluids put back in the transmission can the car be driven a short distance to the dealer to have the transmission programmed?
My 2012 Outback 2.5 just came up with p2764 and p0700 out of no where while driving on the highway. When I shut it off and turn it back on, it’ll drive for a minute with no “AT Oil Temp” light, then have a rough shift and the light will turn on for the rest of the drive. If it is this valve body, do I need to do the reprogramming you did at the end of the video? Or can I do it all at home
Nice video, very thorough and comprehensive, thanks. I REALLY like the Painters Tool method ! 1.) Is it a good idea to disconnect the battery for this repair? 2.) Also, at what point do you "clear" the codes (P2764, P2763, P0700, etc) ? (with the engine off right BEFORE the repair, AFTER the repair during the cvt fluid refill process, before/after the Re-Learn?) Does it matter ? Thanks :)
Yes disconcerting the battery should be one of the first steps. I clear or make sure there are no code after repair key on engine off, top off cvt fluid then start and run vehicle and top fluid off again with vehicle running monitor the cvtf temperature with scan tool when cvtf temperature reaches 95°f to 113°f fluid. Fluid should be level with the filler plug whole. Re-learn is optional
I have a 2015 Subaru Forester with codes P0700 & P2764. It should just be valve body replacement, right? If so, do you have the factory part number? I so appreciate your help!
hey mate, just change my solenoid, filled it up with cvt fluid, and turned it on to refill once it gets hot, however i had to roll the car off the ramp, and when i put it in reverse nothing happens, it doesnt engage, is it because of the software??
@@timmusaka9577 yes and no, the dash warnings are gone, the transmission doesnt overheat, and theres no error codes. But now the car jerks when taking off from a stop, almost like its having trouble going from first gear to second, once it takes off and jerks it drives normal after that. Ive been told its to do with wrong pressure in the valve body itself, i have to change the whole valve body.
That was awesome man!! I love that camera angle 👍
Thanks TMM

Will that part number fit a 2013 subaru Impreza CVT?

I have done it with out doing the reprogramming and there were no problems doing it that way.
@Jason did you get it fixed? I have the same issue
I have a 2013 subaru impreza with the AT oil temp error. Can I replace the salenoid without getting the entire valve body?
Apparently you can did you fix it? And how
Did you got that problem fixed? I have the same problem with my 2013 Impreza.

Great video. How much would a Subaru Dealer charge for this repair ?
Just had an estimate for $2,200
$1,400 in Madison, WI
What year is this for I have a 2016 impreza is it the same
Hi, does that apply to a 2012 Subaru Impreza 2.0L it has the same code with P0700, the AT temp light is flashing with the CEL on, thanks advance.
Do you not need to torque the bolts?
how much was the new replacement part?
Good job👍
hey mate, how hard would this be for someone with no mechanical background? ive worked on my cars before but never on transmissions lol.
i also noticed mine is the P2762 code, would this be the same issue you think?
It's not a difficult repair
@@subietech1.6 yeah ive got it all opened up now, just waiting on the solenoid to arrive

Thanks for the comment and questions hope i answered them for you and I'll try to be more informative and clear about the steps in future videos
My car is 2014 Subaru Forester and same code 2764..so if I do it my self.. do I need a scanner to erase does code??
You can disconnect the battery and that should clear the codes
LMAO @ 3:03 good video man. Saved me $$ labor
That's good

Same problem as mine, What year and model is this? Mine is a 2011 OB/ 2.5 TR690 same exact fault codes. What kind of drill are you using and sockets?
this was a 2011 outback, this is a common code for these car, 10 mm socket and a 3/8 drive snap on impact.

Did you have the car on the ramps when filling the transmission
@@subietech1.6 yes, its still on the ramps.

Rough as hell. Why not just replace the solenoid? The valve body is $4400AUD from Subaru.
Subaru doesn't sell the solenoid individually. I think you can get solenoids from Amazon.
