She says it's an ordinary relationship in the most ordinary of ways; saying "I'm home" and hearing "welcome back" without having to think about it

i'm noticing now that when he's heading out after jason, it shows him crossing the road, directly in front of ethan's eyes. the camera puts it in focus, you are playing from ethan's POV. the road is also completely clear of cars and the street isn't busy w people. but then it immediately cuts and ethan starts looking around side to side, as if he doesn't know where jason is. despite looking straight at him just before. the road is suddenly extremely crowded and busy with cars. quite jarring (even though the road thing could maybe be explained as a technical limitation). also like. jason crosses the road without looking both ways. ethan looks around the street, meaning he should've taken notice of the heavy traffic immediately. in which case, if you have such an absent minded kid who just wander off and you literally *just* saw a reminder that jason doesn't look both ways before stepping onto the road... so why tf would you scream his name so loud? if anything that adds urgency, as if to say "come here!". which is a kinda stupid decision. ethan even had a moment to think first. so like cross the road safely yourself, the kid is in your line of sight and safe on the other side of the road for the moment. ethan can calmly walk over there.
